Re: Rumour: The Search For The Zelda Movie's Link & Zelda Has Begun, Apparently Seeking Actors 16-23

Axecon

I hope we get some new/unknown actors to play Link, Zelda, and the younger characters. This could be a golden opportunity to discover new talent and for people to get their big break.

For Ganondorf (90% likely he would be in the story unless they go with an original villain), I'd really like to see an arabian/middle-eastern actor play the part. The Gerudo are heavily inspired by this culture so it would be extremely fitting. I'd like to see either Fares Fares (Wheel of Time) or Dar Salim (The Covenant) play the part. Christopher Judge should be considered for an alt pick, he has the build and gravitas for the role but not the ethnicity. The Hollywood pick would probably be Dave Bautista or Jason Momoa.

Re: UK Charts: Yes, Two Mario Kart Games Are In The Top Ten

I'm glad Nintendo made Mario Kart World as weird as they did. Because it exists alongside MK8 which is just as readily available for the Switch 2 and people are going to play both games. I wonder based on this how Nintendo will bring over Smash Bros to the new console.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Crushes PS2 To Become Fastest-Selling Console Ever

Axecon

Japan usually accounts for anywhere between 20-33% of total sales for games/hardware. So if the hardware prediction for Switch 2 is supposed to be ~20 million worldwide by 31Mar2026, that means it could possibly surpass the PS5 in the Japanese market in under a year. Practically 1 million new consoles sold in the first weekend is a very strong start for the Switch 2 to hitting projections.

Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days

I don't know why people were saying it was a quiet launch. Lots of people I knew ended up getting the system and several others are interested to buy it eventually. The demand is definitely there and the data, sales lines, and receipts are present to prove it. Whatever numbers Nintendo puts out in the first month (it could well be 6 million +) will be match during Nov/Dec. There's no question this thing is gonna be a 20 million seller out the gate in its first year.

Re: Charles Martinet Explains How He Wants To "Maintain The Integrity" Of Mario

Axecon

There's a reason why Nintendo moved on to Kevin Afghani to be the voice of Mario (and the rest of the casting). There's a number of theories why the role was passed on, from contract endings to wanting new talent to physical inability to voice the roles. Regardless, we should still respect Charles Martinet's privacy and legacy with the role. Hopefully we get an answer one day.

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Mario Kart World Tech Review - "Nintendo's Artistry Stands Out The Most Here"

Nintendo is going to market their evergreen and bundle titles for $80, including Mario Kart, the next 3D Mario platformer, Smash Bros, Zelda, etc because they know you're gonna buy those games regardless. Those are the games that sell systems, which is how Nintendo is really going to move Switch 2 units. These titles will be cheaper as packaged bundles but will also go on sale often, so don't worry about the higher price tag.

Re: Random: Xenoblade Chronicles X Pops Up On Microsoft PC Game Page

I think it would be really awesome to see certain Nintendo titles make the jump to PC so more people can have access to games. XCX is an excellent candidate for this and it would elevate exposure to the series. But knowing Nintendo, it's a move that won't happen unless they experience a flop in their businesses.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Switch 2 And Switch 1 Prices Have Been Revealed

Axecon

So in a nutshell, Switch 2 games will cost $70, $10 to upgrade, while Switch 1 games will remain at $60 all will a few exceptions. Makes sense, that's just the current industry standard. I expect this to be the same for Metroid Prime 4 & other games as well. As for why MK World is $80, it's a fomo tactic to scare people into buying the console bundle at $500. I really don't think Nintendo will revisit the $80 price tag very often except for some of their tentpole heavy hitters (like the next Legend of Zelda, Smash Bros, etc).
