Really don't see why Persona 4 needs to be remade, Golden holds up pretty well

I'm surprised we got a date reveal today for Legends ZA. A bit anti-climatic, I guess Nintendo was still figuring out dates. Would really like to know the rest of the fall lineup with the upcoming Nintendo Direct!

I never played Galaxy 2. Maybe it's because Nintendo forgot this game existed.

I really like this. There's enough negativity in this world, sometime people want escapism and to just enjoy their passions without bad thoughts.

It seems that more and more people are saving money for Switch 2, so all console sales are down. Still surprised by how well the Switch has continued to sell, only in the last few weeks has it tapered off.
The new question is, will Switch still continue to outsell the PS5 after Switch 2 launches?

Nintendo opens the floodgates with Mario Kart World at $80. Microsoft soon followed suit. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the standard price for all games in less than 2 years, the industry is going to rush to adopt this standard.

The difference between MKW & Borderlands 4 at least is that MKW will never go down in price other than the occasional sale. Borderlands 4 will be heavily discounted after 2 years.

This game looks good and I'm relieved the framerate issues won't be a problem, but I hope this is the last entry in the Wilds era for Zelda. From the BOTW reveal in 2014, it's been over 11 years now and the Zelda series needs something fresh.

I'm going to be a later adopter for Switch 2. Originally I wasn't very interested in the system, but the April 2nd Direct already hooked me with games I'll buy for sure like Kirby Air Riders, DK Bananza, and HW Age of Imprisonment. I still have a good backlog on my Switch 1 so I'm in no rush, plus I'm perfectly content to play Metroid Prime 4, Legends ZA, Silksong, and all the transitionary cross-gen titles on Switch 1 for the time being.

I thought this game was already leaked a few weeks ago? The trademarks just add extra evidence to that leak

I'm a little confused on this and not as well informed, but I do think it's pretty gross for AI to replace the likeness of an actor without proper permissions, even after deceased.

Nintendo is starting the process of shepherding the consumers to the all digital future. Switch 2 will be the last true physical games-based console.

Considering the Switch 2 is pushing the shift to digital, I hope Nintendo shares more digital game sales data starting this upcoming generation

Part of me wants to see a Xenoblade 4, part of me wants to see a brand new IP. For the latter, it could really attract a massive following, the Switch 2 is ripe for new IP and Monolith Soft is the perfect developer to take advantage of it.

Square Enix is the company least likely to support Nintendo with physical releases. Still, if this runs natively digital on the Switch 2 console, I guess that's an improvement?

Probably the only major SE true physical releases we're getting on the Switch 2 are the Chrono Trigger remake and Dragon Quest XII.

Nintendo is going to hate the gaming community with this decision. It's one thing a vocal minority was clamoring for but the majority won't really use. And the people that do will criticize it.

This is literally the most pointless remaster. It barely looks better than the original, takes out features, it's a gamekey card, and would have been a golden opportunity to bundle it with the sequel but it's only the first game.

It's Pokemon. Sometimes dumb fun is good enough despite the jank, especially to little Timmys & their parents who will not know better.

I tend to skip every other Nintendo home console. Switch 2 might be the exception, but even then, I'm not buying on day 1.

@Ichiban Agreed, Microsoft buying studios and developers has been awful for gaming, it's killed off a lot of legacy IPs and put a lot of people out of work.

Considering how little news we've had of the game, that's no surprise. But it's really nice to get a formal release date, that strongly signifies that the May 2026 date is hard set. Sadly, it's very likely this game ends up being $100 though

It's probably day and date with other consoles.

Nintendo's been really bad about giving people fair credit, and this really needs to change. Sadly this is a little bit of a cultural gap, while we perceive this worse in the West, it's not likely as big of a deal in Japan.

As much as I'd love to see old series return, I really hope we get plenty of new AAA IPs for Switch 2. The Switch 1 era was not the best for this but it did prop up already established core Nintendo franchises which needed a boost after the Wii U/3DS era.

As for returning series, I'd really like to see Kid Icarus make a return, both port Uprising and give that game a proper sequel. And I hope we see Golden Sun revisited, there's room for AAA JRPGs from Nintendo besides Xenoblade. Lastly, I'd like to see a Mario Strikers game with actual effort put into it and the missing Mario Baseball game we never got on Switch 1.

@PessitheMystic People are still reeling from the sticker shock but I agree, the discourse has gotten exhausting. MK World is not really an $80 game, it's actually a $50 game because Nintendo wants people to buy that bundle. Really it's a strategic business move for Nintendo to sell a lot of Switch 2 consoles because they know people are gonna buy the new Mario Kart in droves, which in turn will guarantee console number sales success. And for the haters, the physical standalone MK World will very likely go on sale because Mario Kart 8 was always one of the games that went on sale quite frequently. It's very possible we'll see Nintendo do the same thing with the next Smash Bros & Animal Crossing, sell the games at a higher premium price but also cheaper with a bundle to push console sales.

This is the ugliest thing to come out of next Gen. I can accept $80 games (grudgingly) due to inflation and the increased cost of labor needed to produce games. I also don't mind paying a bit more for the console. But I absolutely refuse to give up on true physical media.

@NinChocolate This describes the situation perfectly, well said! I was in a similar boat with one of my older companies, I had a company device and when I was leaving the company, I had to return it even though the device was already retired and out of compliance.

No analog triggers though, so it's a no buy for me

I'll be a later adopter. But if there is a threat of a price increase date with tariffs, you bet my behind I'll jump at the chance at buying before that day happens.
