This happened to me for Xenoblade 3. I got the special edition but the arrival got delayed to 10 days after launch (it ultimately came in 5 days after but still frustratingly late). Had to go in store to get a physical case copy on launch day and sold the second game cart to a friend.

I'm sorry but if you can't run 720p minimum in this day and age, the product not worth it at all.

I do want this (I'm from the US), but I also haven't unboxed my TOTK pro controller which I bought last year, so I don't really need it.

Remember when new amiibo used to cost $12.99? Sometimes as low as $5 if a store was trying to clear stock

Why is everyone in a tizzy over hall-effect? It's not the only solution to drift problems, there are other methods too. It's possible Nintendo's manufactured their own proprietary solution to the problem. What annoys me more is the lack of analog triggers in the Switch 2 Pro Controller/Joycons

@jfp That's not exactly true. It only works as a "gamecube" controller for GC NSO. But for all other purposes, it's essentially a pro controller.

@TwinFami I know, right? I'm not looking to buy a Switch 2 atm but I would like a new GC controller, I'd probably use it for Switch 1 games. Knowing my luck, it'll sellout near-instantly.

It didn't blow me away and felt like a rehash of stuff already covered in previous informational events and analyses from content creators. But the game still looks good. Enough to justify the standard $70 of next-gen games but definitely not $80

Nintendo really needs to start showing digital data in their weekly sales reports. At least for their first party AAA games

@Mythra It could be a $70 game, it could be $60. Maybe I'll wait to get it discounted for even less, Kirby games often go on sale roughly 6 months after release and for the holidays.

Nintendo's weird pre-order strategy of needed 50 minimum hours with Switch 1 is weirdly Nintended but if it helps with combatting scalping, I'm ok with it.

That genuinely sucks. Won't be buying one then, I'm fine with my Switch 1 pro controllers

@Polvasti I played Age of Calamity, twice, and I really enjoyed it. I know that was a what-if alternative scenario but it did actually feel like the proper story that we never got in Zelda BOTW (plus, I'm happy that there was a way to save Mipha). I'm not a fan of BOTW & TOTK's approach to non-linear fragmented storytelling and I really hope it's abandoned in future Zelda titles.

Ah yes, the $70 story DLC for Tears of the Kingdom that wasn't included in the base game.

Hot take - I prefer the more tedious triforce quest of the OG vs the streamlined version of HD.

Breath of the Wild was a console seller for me. There's not quite a game in the Switch 2 lineup that immediately sells the console for me (but I will buy it for Kirby Air Riders).

I'm just gonna pickup Kirby Air Riders for much cheaper when it launches.

@roy130390 It's the American voice work, isn't it? Jokes aside it's almost as if Nintendo put out the game as a stopgap before the Switch 2 launch, it hasn't done very well at all even in the Japanese market (from sales data, it hasn't even crossed 1 million worldwide).

This launch is getting messier by the day. Somehow though, I'll still bet that the Switch 2 will outsell the Wii U in its first year alone

I wouldn't be surprised for it to happen later down the line but I am also expecting a season pass of some sort right out at release.

Despite the PR nightmare Nintendo is in with the prices and tariffs, it's still going to be a massive release on June 5th.

Competition is good. I welcome developers to make similar products, it ensures innovation doesn't get stale and pushes boundaries. It's how we got the Switch and tablet PCs in the first place.

I really hope we get a physical edition for Switch 1 for Silksong. Doesn't have to be at release.

Might be a bit of an overreaction, but this makes me just as excited as the trailer. Unlike the Xbox event 3 years ago (it's really been that long!) which was a single trailer drop, we're getting a small but steady stream of news for Silksong. This does make me believe the release of the game is imminent.

Kirby Air Ride 2 is literally my dream game. That's all it took for me to buy a Switch 2. But I'll wait until I can get one in a reasonable manner and price.

The biggest disservice that many aren't really talking about is Nintendo's effort to move away from physical media. All these weird efforts and pricing are evident examples of this shift. We may very well be seeing the last physical-based media console from Nintendo in the Switch 2.

The Mario/DK timeline makes the Zelda one look tame by comparison

The upgrade packs/NS2 versions are awfully laid out with all that text. Also a bit of a bummer that Switch 2 editions are just Switch 1 games + download codes. But at least it makes it easy what version of Metroid Prime 4 I'm buying (Switch 1 physical).

Hot take - Wind Waker is still the best looking Zelda game, even in its OG form. That art direction is timeless and really makes the characters pop just right

Games from 2025 & probably 2026 are going to sit in my waitlist for a while. I doubt I'm getting a new console anytime soon, even if the tariff situation fixes itself.
