Do not buy this. Especially the Switch 2 version of the game, it's the same version as the Switch 1 release, a poorly optimized roster upgrade

Voice actors really don't get paid enough though for the work they do. And they hardly if ever see residuals on their work, even for re-releases and future projects. Sadly Helena Taylor tried to extort the situation and really put a bad name for herself.

Smash 64 is the first video game I ever played. Was a wee lad at a party, such a nostalgic time. Never had the pleasure of owning it, my first home console was PS2 then a Wii.

The first three movies are fantastic! 2 is my personal favorite although 1 & 3 are also amazing as well. It's because of the 2nd movie that Lugia is my #2 favorite Pokemon (after my OG starter Blastoise). Later Pokemon movies are good but don't hold up to the same epic scale as the first 3.

There's a possibility that the Switch 2 could surpass the Switch 1, I won't deny it. But it is quite unlikely due to the perfect storm that the Switch 1 created which practically made it the best selling console of all time (unless Sony finds another 5 million PS2 sales in the backrooms). However, an easy thing for Nintendo to help boost Switch 2 numbers would be to release multiple models. The Switch 1 only had like 4 true models - The base Switch, the Switch V2, the Lite, and the OLED. I could see the Switch 2 get a dedicated handheld, a tv-only version, possibly multiple mid-gen refreshes, and even possibly a version tied to VR. There were also talks about a Switch model having cellular capabilities at one point, so I wonder if Nintendo was playing around with different possibilities.

It's dead. The only way Perfect Dark could revive itself is if outside funding finished the project. Microsoft doesn't give to pennies-worth if it happens or not.

The more I hear about this game, the more it's drawing me to buy a Switch 2. Never thought Donkey Kong would tip the scales, always thought it would be Zelda or Xenoblade.

Nintendo is killing their 3rd party support with their stupid card decisions. I really hope they act more flexible with allowing different cart sizes.

Great to see DS2 on top, but I'd imagine this sequel won't have legs. The fans probably came out in mass for the launch but it will taper off very quickly

Sea of Stars DLC Campaign - Throes of the Watchmaker - is my personal winner so far with Xenoblade Chronicles X as the runner up (I still haven't finished the game so it could steal the top spot). But I'd imagine DK Bonanza or HK Silksong easily winning GOTY for me in 2025.

Dragon Quest IV-IX are frustratingly absent on modern consoles. As well as Chrono Trigger

I'm not in a rush to buy the console, so I don't mind the sellouts. It seems Nintendo did good with stock in North America. But it seems that they severely underestimated the home Japanese market.

I'm siding with the fans on this one. Normally I'd say people are being over dramatic, but this is a pretty bone-headed decision by Nintendo. And the fix is super simple too. Nintendo isn't being very flexible at all with MK World because they want you to play the game only their way, which really sucks.

$20 feels appropriate for this game. Still not my cup of tea, so I'll likely pass

A select button would have gone a very long way. However, you can map buttons and it's an easy fix just to map "c" as select

I played the first two chapters of Deltarune when they came out and I remember them being fantastic! I do want to play chapters 3 & 4 at some point, but knowing that they are paid makes me just wanna wait until the full game is released. Well, here's to waiting potentially another 6-7 years! I really don't mind waiting for the full release of Deltarune. Silksong on the other hand...

Digital Foundry puts out one video about tech issues on the Switch 2 and all of a sudden the entire internet is in arms about the quality of the LCD screen. If they didn't mention it, this wouldn't be even be a debate. Stop complaining people and just play the games

There's apparently raffles for people to buy Switch 2, the Japanese storefront likely can't keep up with the demand.

Good to see this game finally get some buzz and marketing. It's a shame this wasn't a launch title for Switch 2.

It's really a shame how Nintendo fails to properly give people, developers, and previous workers the credit they deserve.

Please don't patch this! This is easily the greatest glitch in TOTK to date!

It's kinda funny that Switch 1 sales are still pretty much matching up with PS5 sales

People just dropped at least $450 for a new system and likely more when you account for accessories. The only true new game was Mario Kart World which is probably the only game people really wanted to buy (and at $80 if you weren't lucky to get the bundle or are a physical collector). All things considered, that's a lot of money. People aren't able to buy more than just a few games with higher prices and people aren't going to waste their money on digital or key-cards when other games are physical and offer a better deal.

@NolandC Extremely little chance Switch 1 could run DK Bonanza natively. The Switch 1 is exhausting its ability to run games due to the limited and ancient processing power that it's been chugging along with. Take Zelda TOTK for example which is probably the most demanding game the Switch 1 runs somewhat successfully. TOTK had long load times, would significantly dropping frames, and even overheating and it was barely 30 FPS when running somewhat smoothly. Compared to Zelda TOTK, there's so much more visually & particle-wise going on with DK Bonanza and the terrain terraforming that it would tank the Switch 1's ability to potentially run it. Not saying it's impossible but the game would look like a potato slide show on the previous console.

As for how game share works, it's a video feed projected onto the Switch 1 tablet while still accepting button inputs, aka streaming the game. I wonder how the feedback on the input lag would be?

@Johnny44 100% agree. I can spend hours with dumb mouse and paint apps. I'm almost certainly buying DK Bonanza (when I can afford a Switch 2) but I'd like a paint app where I can share, edit, and upload my own creations and those of others.

Can we just get this mode as a separate $10 mini game?

I'm a sucker for double character amiibos, might have to pick this one up. Reminds me a lot of the Midna & Wolf Link amiibo

And it's reasons like this why I didn't give up my Switch 1. GameShare is easily the best feature of the console Nintendo is not talking about

I don't understand why this game could not be bundled with its sequel, huge missed opportunity

I hope we get some new/unknown actors to play Link, Zelda, and the younger characters. This could be a golden opportunity to discover new talent and for people to get their big break.

For Ganondorf (90% likely he would be in the story unless they go with an original villain), I'd really like to see an arabian/middle-eastern actor play the part. The Gerudo are heavily inspired by this culture so it would be extremely fitting. I'd like to see either Fares Fares (Wheel of Time) or Dar Salim (The Covenant) play the part. Christopher Judge should be considered for an alt pick, he has the build and gravitas for the role but not the ethnicity. The Hollywood pick would probably be Dave Bautista or Jason Momoa.

I hope K Rool is saved for an in-game surprise reveal. Sometimes less is more, and I really hope the Direct doesn't straddle into spoiler territory.

I'm glad Nintendo made Mario Kart World as weird as they did. Because it exists alongside MK8 which is just as readily available for the Switch 2 and people are going to play both games. I wonder based on this how Nintendo will bring over Smash Bros to the new console.
