Bowser's tenure as COO definitely made Nintendo of America feel a lot more corporate and lost a lot of a charm during the 2000s & early 2010s. Still, he did have a relatively successful run in leadership and wishing him the best.
I know B&W has its very loyal fanbase, but it almost killed the series for me. It did some things very well and others terribly. The early 2010s era was strangely experimental for GameFreak and the Pokemon Company.
Still haven't beaten the game, about halfway (I think) and hitting a wall with the difficulty plus I got super busy with life. But I'm still finding ways to make progress and do side-quests in the meantime. The game is hitting the exact same way like the original Hollow Knight did and it feels amazing to play. Still waiting for the shocker reveal moment that blows my socks off like the OG HW, but if I had to score it right now, I'd give it a solid 9/10.
Ok, I'm not getting these anymore on Day 1. I'll just wait until they drop in price and go in clearance because nobody bought them, then I'll snatch them up (or scalpers will beat me to it).
Did my first marathon this past year and it was tough as nails. Wasn't sure if I'd ever do one again. However, seeing that Nintendo is sponsoring the 2026 Kyoto marathon I might need to start training for next year (or 2027 at least!).
Metroid fans can finally rest easy with a release date. This might just be the longest announcement to release in recent memory (except maybe Half Life 3?).
I seriously wonder why people even buy Xbox consoles anymore other than it being a luxury in addendum to another system they already own. It's become a two-horse race in the console market between Nintendo & Sony OR people just game on PC. Xbox's console sales started fading in the One generation and is flopping in the Series generation (haven't even hit 30 million). I guess Microsoft Xbox is not really at a loss if they have mostly shifted to becoming a storefront & service-based model.
As a purest and day 1 purchaser, I cannot update the game beyond the launch patch for potential glitches. Gotta beat the game at least once before I do, then lookup speed run strats.
Based purely on exclusives and not counting Switch 2 editions of games (which let's be real are just souped up ports), the Switch 2 has like 2 games as of 3 months. I'd 100% buy it for Kirby Air Riders though, I'm that idiot. But it's really hard to justify a new console purchase right now.
This sounds very similar to the same problem Nintendo experienced during the N64 era with 3rd parties. But I'm not sure how true it is, this is Ubisoft we're talking about, a company known for making up BS excuses and poor practices in the game industry.
Silksong is hitting a niche that few other games could ever do for me. It's why I was anticipating this release so much. Few hours in and I'm already in love with the game, the world, and the characters. Like HK, it took a moment to click but kinda knowing the controls helped immensely and by the second boss the movement felt very natural. However, I wouldn't be surprised if newcomers were completely put off from the game, cuz it's HARD!

Re: Feature: Who Is Devon Pritchard? - Meet The Next NOA President Stepping Into Bowser's Boots
Biological Sciences Major, we have something in common! Perhaps it might explain her interest towards Pikmin?
Re: Opinion: Silksong's Soundtrack Rules, But You Should Turn It Off
Team Cherry gets sound and environmental design. It's just one aspect of what has made both Hollow Knight and Silksong masterpieces.
Re: Are You "Unsure" About Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade For Switch 2? Don't Worry, There'll Be A Demo
The only thing I'm unsure about is if I can ever get anything as a true physical from Square Enix again

These are some pretty clean looking amiibo!

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Director Highlights The Speed Problem With Switch 2 Game Cards
Developers are throwing any excuse at the wall to avoid true physical. This really sucks for the industry

Harsh words for an 8/10 review
Re: Opinion: Why Focus On Silksong's Difficulty When We Need To Talk About How Cute It is?
To me, the Bell Beast's name is Eyrah, because that's what Hornet calls it

The usual suspects are at it again!
Re: Video: EA Sports FC 26 Disappoints At 30fps On Switch 2
Cheers to the fools that complain about rising game prices yet buy the same FIFA game every year that barely changes!

These Metroid amiibo don't look as cool as the previous ones
Re: Where To Pre-Order Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment For Nintendo Switch 2
This and Kirby Air Riders are the two Switch 2 games I'm definitely buying but won't play for a while until I buy a Switch 2 a year or two from now
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush (Switch 2) - DLC That's Ripe With Fun, But Could've Been More

Re: Opinion: 10 Years Old Today, Undertale Has Been A Constant Source Of Fun & Learning Between Me & My Kids
Seriously cannot believe it's been 10 years. Undertale was one of the first games that I got convinced to play from rumors on the internet.
Re: Nintendo Is "Acting To Protect The Industry" With Switch 2 Game Key Cards, Says Ex-Capcom Composer
The gaming industry is actively moving away from physical media. It's truly sad, and game-key cards are just one symptom of the bigger problem.
Re: No Switch 2 "Upgrade Path" For Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Planned
Very disappointing, but SE has been a poor supporter of Switch 2 from the start.
Re: Surprise! Kirby Air Riders Is Getting A Second Direct
I'm already sold on the game. All I'm hoping for is an Adeleine reveal and it's GOTY for me (sorry Silksong)

Re: Monster Hunter Stories 3 Will Roar Onto Switch 2 In March 2026
The Switch 2 is getting a Pokemon game that actually runs and looks good!

In this game, Korok tortures you!
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
There's gotta be a way to play these games as basic games, right?
Re: Surprise! Donkey Kong Bananza Is Getting DLC, And It's Out Today
Nintendo's definitely campaigning DK Bananza for GOTY 2025
Re: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Charges Onto Switch 2 In 2026
I might need to play FE Three Houses after this Direct
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Looks Like An Adorable Mix Of Minecraft And Animal Crossing
Dragon Quest Builders was a really fun game. So I actually have faith in this project. Probably a pass for me but there will definitely be an audience
Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
Somehow Nintendo will get away with this. I do wonder if Wii VC online is a long ways off after some of the announcements of today?
Re: The Entire Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy Is Making Its Way To Switch 2
Native digital ports of the entire trilogy. That's awesome news. I'd like a true physical version but this is the next best thing.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
Metroid fans can finally rest easy with a release date. This might just be the longest announcement to release in recent memory (except maybe Half Life 3?).

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct September Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
We need a brand new IP. The Switch 2 console is young and the last true big new IP was like Astral Chain in 2019.
Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?
I've never been so happy to rage at a game

I cleared my entire schedule for September 4th and the weekend, so yeah, guess what I'm playing?

@Dr_Awkward Do you enjoy defending the terrible practices Nintendo is employing to destroy physical media and cheap-out consumers?
Re: 007 First Light Is More That Just Spies And Style, Launches March 2026 On Switch 2
As soon as I read it was a game-key card I lost all interest. GKCs are killing the Switch 2 generation for me
