Game Keys make Digital seem like a better purchase option. Regardless, considering prices and all, I'm not going to get the Switch 2 or its games anytime soon
The biggest disappointment of the Switch 2 Direct was the lack of big new 1st party IPs. This seems fun but is going to be a single afternoon type game at best. Also that name is awful.
It looks really boring though. I don't wanna know how my system works, I just wanna play games. I know that might sound a little arrogant, but gaming is about escapism and fun, the technical jargon or pricing should never be a worry.
@KBuckley27 Maybe, but to be fair, you're probably going to be spending the majority of your time playing all the new games Nintendo has to offer. And GC games are pretty comparable to modern titles in terms of length and quality. So it might be a paltry showing, but it's makes a lot of sense and it's a great starting lineup.
Speedruns and movement of this game are going to be wild! It's almost like Super Mario meets Minecraft. DK has had an identity crisis for a while but it ends now!
I thought this game was going to be Metroid's answer to Zelda BOTW. It's not that and that's ok. It's probably going to be more similar to Xenoblade Chronicles 2. A high-fidelity launch year game that sells more than its series predecessors and builds a fanbase for its series. I'm now anticipating a holiday launch around the same time as Pokémon
@Willo567 It's not a rumor. The American price for physical has yet to be revealed but if you do the math comparison with other regions, it's going to be $90. It's $90 Euros for the physical and the Euro to Dollar conversion is pretty much 1:1. It's slightly even more expensive if you compare agains the UK price, like $93. It's already $80 for digital in the US (confirmed) and Nintendo seems to be marking up for physical this generation.
This looks to be about the same amount of addition as the Luigi's balloon world update for Odyssey. I don't think it's really going to add much additional to the game that isn't already there. However, I'm glad that Kohga's voice actor was reused after his amazing performance in Age of Calamity!
Yeah, but I'm not paying $90 for it. I was ok with $70 games but not a 1.5x markup. At that price I'm going to have to be extremely selective of what I buy if I do buy things. Luckily a game like this will be heavily discounted in a while.
It's $90 for physical. That's a 1.5x price increase. There's a lot to be said there that's already been rolled out over the past day. However yesterday might as well have been the beginning of the death of physical media.
I really don't mind it, quick and easy to boot games. I honestly think that the Wii & Wii U era menus were a little too much. 3DS though had a good balance.
Nintendo might have ended up in a Wii U situation if they called the Switch 2 the "Super" Switch. I know it's boring but Switch 2 sounds much more iterative
I really like the game, about halfway-ish through and just got my skell. The world is amazing and it's just stupid fun after learning all the very overwhelming large amount of game mechanics. This game is super rich though, there's a lot to do and maximize. I really want to emphasize the world exploration and jumping/landing physics, it's all soooooo satisfying. But my biggest drawback to XCX is that it's lacking the story and character sauce that the main trilogy has. Right now I'd have to give it a 9/10 but that could certainly change later down the road.
I just didn't like today's Direct. It had some moments but if it wasn't for Metroid Prime 4 and a handful of Nintendo's back catalog franchises, it might as well could have been a partner direct. Too heavy on 3rd party mid-tier games. But it's ok, stuff needs to clear out for next week's showcase.
Look, I welcome any news from Nintendo. But this was a really stupid move. Also would have really appreciated this back in February, it's been a VERY dry 6+ months since the last Direct back in late August, and that was a partner showcase
From the extremely limited news we've gotten, the main cause of the delay was scope creep. The game just ended up much bigger than TC anticipated.
As for releasing soon, it's really just a happy coincidence that it's coming out around the same time as Switch 2 (IF that might be true, for all we know it could still be another 1-2 years from actual release).
I'm just going to enjoy Xenoblade X until April 2nd. And I'm probably going to enjoy Xenoblade X until well after that date too (it's probably going to take me months to finish that game).
Knowing the track record of the Pokemon Company, we might never get a Pokemon game as good as Legends Arceus ever again period. I recently started playing the game again and it's simply the Pokemon game I always dreamed about, it's even better in this second play-through. You can just go and catch Pokemon in their wild habitat and explore cool landscapes (after a stupidly long tutorial). I know it's not fully open world but the zones are pretty diversified and filled with great verticality and traversal. It's basically Zelda Breath of the Wild meets Monster Hunter but with Pokémon and an awesome throwback to early-gen Pokémon. I have mixed hopes on Legends ZA, I think it will be fun but I'm not thrilled about the city setting as it takes away the aspect of roaming the wild for mysterious creatures. However Legends ZA looks like it could bring completely different experiences too.

Let's be real, at these prices this is the only way people are going to buy the console.

Re: Video: Metroid Prime 4 Side-By-Side Early Graphics Comparison (Switch 2 & Switch)
I may not get a Switch 2 for a while, so I'm fine with the Switch 1 version. But I do hope we get Wii-style pointer controls like Prime 3.

Re: Random: Did You Know About These Hidden Animations In Pokémon Stadium?
Pokemon character models in modern titles don't really have the same charm as they did during the classic eras
Re: Opinion: We'll Never Get A Final Boss As Good As Pokémon Legends: Arceus Again
