Re: SEGA Announces English Voiceover Cast For Yakuza 0: Director's Cut

TheBigBlue

There’s some all star names here; Greg chun (Ike from fire emblem), David hayter (Solid Snake and Big Boss, excellent choice for kashiwagi) Alejandro Saab (Akihiko Sanada, his voice is nearly perfect for Oda.) Impressive, but not enough for me to pay 70 CAD when I own the original. The people that haven’t played this yet though, I highly recommend playing 0 in some form or another, it’s a masterpiece

Re: Opinion: Miiverse Was Fine, But Does Anybody Really Want It Back In 2025?

TheBigBlue

Absolutely not. I was on there when the app was at its peak. It was handled atrociously, and the amount of weird and predatory users on there outweighed the normal ones. The content was gross and desperate. Moderation was poor. Why people would have fond memories of such a failure of a social media clone is beyond my understanding. The nostalgia glasses are doing some heavy lifting here for some

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Super Mario Party Jamboree

TheBigBlue

@Friendly Id wager that since online multiplayer and features are a huge part of this new Mario party, Nintendo is giving the codes out not only to boost sub numbers and maybe get new subs, but to help people play the online features with little hassle for three months so people resub to keep playing said modes

Re: The Easiest Nintendo Switch Games

TheBigBlue

I don’t disagree with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but playing it online with other people globally and winning matches is NOT easy. There are some very very good players out there. Base game is pretty simple though with simple controls

Re: Soapbox: 'Switch 2' Doesn't Really Need Backwards Compatibility

TheBigBlue

These comments really make you take a look back and see just how damn annoying this discussion is. 1: Don’t ever say this opinion in front of any gamer if you value your sanity. They will NOT like you for it. 2: I agree (holy **** a true unpopular opinion? Surely you jest!) that the new console doesn’t absolutely NEED backwards compatibility. Would it be freakin awesome if it did? Of course! Is it a WANT and not a NEED? Absolutely. Rumors suggest the new thing uses cartridges as well so what’s stopping the console that uses cartridges from being backwards compatible with a console that also uses cartridges? Felt like that needed to be said. Again. Even if it wasn’t backwards compatible, Nintendo would guaranteed pull a Wii U and port the vast majority of the first party titles over anyways. You’d think this article title was “World War 3 isn’t actually a bad idea” with the backlash to this opinion.

Re: Poll: Do You Prefer Zelda: Wind Waker HD's Bloom Lighting Or The "Flat" OG?

TheBigBlue

@Synecdoche Totally. Not sure why people think this and TP will be launch titles. When the new console comes out, the majority launch titles and games coming the same year as the console release won’t be remasters. Wind Waker I can see happening the year after the new console releases, easily, to fill the gap between the next original Zelda game. TOTK wasn’t ages ago, it’s quite recent. So expecting Wind Waker so soon is a setup for disappointment

Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch's Year 7 Compare To Previous Nintendo Consoles?

TheBigBlue

Why do people think the switch pushing past the typical lifespan of a console is a bad thing? People want this new console and have been guessing as to when it would happen since the switch’s 2nd year. Realistically speaking, not everyone can afford a more powerful Nintendo console at the moment. It would cost lots more money and the new games arriving with it would probably be 70$ American as the norm, same as TOTK, cause the games will be higher quality. The switch is the cheapest console on the market, the games, while they almost never go on sale, are cheaper than the competition, and the whole home console/ portable console hybrid still works and is still convenient. Having a cheaper console in the switch saves money while giving up higher processing power and frame rate in exchange. This doesn’t bother me a bit. HD games on the go are good enough for me.

Re: Takaya Imamura: F-Zero Hasn't Been Revived Because Mario Kart Is Nintendo's "Most Popular Racing Game"

TheBigBlue

You know what? I can accept this answer. Mario Kart already sells crazy amounts of copies and makes tons of money (Mario kart 8 is 9 years old and still remains a top 10 game sales staple!) Adding F-Zero racetracks and cars to Mario Kart was a smart way to acknowledge the series in a fitting tribute. Maybe we could see the captain himself alongside the blue falcon in the next Mario kart 👀

(That would be awesome, HD captain falcon)

Re: Review: Pikmin 2 - Still A Sublime Time, Even Without The 7-Up Bottle Cap

TheBigBlue

@MythTgr Metroid prime 4 doesn’t have a definitive release date yet. HD ports of Prime 2 and 3 will probably come (if ever, don’t hold your breath here) around the marketing season for Metroid Prime 4, whenever that is. Pikmin 1 and 2 have returned a month before Pikmin 4 to help people familiarize themselves with the franchise, as many haven’t played a pikmin game before. Prime 2 and 3 will have their time eventually, patience is key.

Re: Review: Pikmin 1 - A Bare-Bones Port, But A Joyous Adventure

TheBigBlue

@NiallMitch14 yes. I don’t know why people were expecting this big triumphant return of pikmin 1 and 2 remastered with these reworked visuals and everything rebuilt from the ground up like Prime. The games look and play perfectly fine today, and simply adding little small features and HD upscaling should be more than enough. Not every single HD port going forward has to be Metroid Prime (years of work by lots of extra studios by the way) levels in terms of a remaster. As for the pricing, hm. At least Nintendo sweetens the pot somewhat with their bundle deal for less money.

Re: Poll: Will There Be A June 2023 Nintendo Direct?

TheBigBlue

No, there won’t be. It will most likely be the same thing as last year when E3 was canceled. A Direct Mini at the end of June, most likely Partner Direct, and more twitter drops. Wave 5 will be twitter dropped, that’s for sure. Nintendo is attending that event in August, so a direct only two months before makes no sense. September direct will be the next one.

PS: it’s always fun watching social media users and YouTubers breaking down in tears when there’s no June direct, because it’s so forced and over dramatic, like the world will explode if there is no June direct

Re: Nintendo Announces Everybody 1-2-Switch!

TheBigBlue

You can tell Nintendo has absolutely zero hope for this game because it was a random twitter drop and there were no exclamation mark at the end of the announcement sentence. Nintendo seemed like they didn’t want to announce this but it was already finished so they just Twitter dropped it
