I’ll be trudging through the muck on snowrunner. What a grueling game this has been for me. Some runs I have found myself so ill equipped to squeeze through a crag or in over my head in a bog. It’s absolutely pitiful country I’ve seen so far it has me wondering are there really places in Michigan that are this treacherous?? I’ve not gotten very far into the game but it has punished me a great deal but I’m finally getting it.
I’ve just started snow runner on the X. I got it ton sale with all the dlc and so far I like it but still getting used to it. I’ll also play some stardew and battle block with my girl to.
A single man can roll out impressive updates like what we’ve got in stardew valley but the mighty rockstar can take what seems forever to grace us with the ability to “fly thru clouds”. Why thank you rockstar, how philanthropic of you!
I have yet to try either. I love the style and the animation of pizza tower a great deal and the wacky music. It does seem a bit too speedy for me and I do prefer a bit more exploration so if Anton blast gives us that, I’m all in. Just curious how it sets itself apart from wario then. I’ll get both at some point physically whenever that happens. I really would like to see another wario land game again. They’re sorely missed and I much prefer the land games over the micro games myself.
@Eduard_Brenton well if I had gamepass at the moment I’d want to try out metal slug tactics and also snowrunner on there. These are both games I’m interested in owning but would like to see how they play first.
I’ll be playing a bit more Arkham city on the X and some stardew valley with my daughter. We started a whole new farm on the bluegrass farm. Oh what fun! Going back to this game I do wish the time was a bit slower each day, but we love it.
Truthfully I thought this was already out. Dunno if this update will work with my playasia copy I have of this game but it would be nice. I haven’t really played 2 that much, it just didn’t hook me like the first one, for one the performance wasn’t so great. Bunny and Jammy look a bit like the battletoads to me.
@Ganner are you playing snow runner on switch or a deck? I’ve been wanting to get it but probably on a sale for Xbox because I’d like to get some of the dlc with it but all together it’s quite pricey. Is the dlc worth it you think?
@Summer235 give that one some time, the combat is tough but if you stick with it it’ll get better and it’s one of the best games I’ve ever experienced.
I’ve had a few days off already so I recently wrapped up a return to Arkham asylum and ufouria 2 that I had been chipping away at. I’ll continue a bit with Arkham city and I just got core keeper in the mail which I’m really enjoying for something very similar to terraria. I really wish it was two player split screen tho to play with my daughter, she loves the little yaks in the meadow you get. I’ll be playing stardew with her and maybe a little battle block theatre for her missing chihuahua head she so desperately wants. That’s a game that could use a new coat of paint and a splat on our switch.
Very nice selection this month. I’ll be getting Mario and Luigi day one. At some point Lego Horizons as well, maybe for Christmas along with sonic generations. Dragon Quest I have preordered already. Tetris and metal slug im going to wait on a bit for a possible physical release. Tetris is a definite at some point but metal slug im not so sure on. I’m not a big strategy RPG guy but I have enjoyed a few.
I’d love to be wrong but I really feel like windwaker and twilight princess will be relegated to the switch online service in the GameCube lineup for the next console. I’d love to own those two games again, they’re both so good.
@JCWrites I do remember that being the last for the licensing and having Scott hall in there before his release. Also there was something about two covers being released due to Steve Austin leaving the company. I remember getting it day one back in the day and being pretty disappointed in it coming off the great m64 games but they gradually got better on the cube after that. I actually liked 19 and DOR 2 at a tie for the best on the platform. The cube also had ultimate muscle new generation and the def jam vendetta games that were all good for a wrestling game. Def jam fight for New York tho is more of a fighter and pretty hard to come by.
For one reason or another I never got to play generations when it first released and I was interested in it. I won’t miss it this time. I’m glad this shadow campaign seems like a whole new game on its own and not an afterthought. This looks like a win for sega.
@JCWrites which wrestlemania are you playing? I always liked xix for the crazy cage matches you can have over the water, where you win by smashing some poor sap thru the mesh to the treacherous sea below.
This one sounds like the best of the 3 platformers on switch. I’ve never tried any of these but after reading up on them the first seems to have a lot of performance issues and the second runs better but may get a bit boring recycling the same gameplay loop, which is worrisome considering they are short games. Anymore comments from those that have played these would be helpful.
I just beat the excellent crysis 3 remastered from the trilogy a few days ago. This was truly an excellent shooter campaign to play thru. I highly recommend to anyone with that itch. For this weekend it’s splatoon 3s spooky fest and more iron meat runs. That sounds rough…
On the Xbox store this game mention two player split screen coop, does this game really have that?? That would be a whole barrel of monkeys to have a friend to go thru this zany mansion with.
This looks fun and all but a lot of the shooters from this time do tend to be difficult to navigate. That’s the major hangup for me, they’re fun until they’re not.
I need to see what the differences in each version are but I’m considering this it looks good. I also have been wanting to check out that pocket bravery game it looked good as well.
I was able to complete the Fzero daily rewards for this event and so now I’ve got the new alternated decals for the racers, I played a little splatoon 3, wobbly life and Minecraft with my daughter, and finished up crisis remastered on the Xbox.
@Croctopus I hear you. I beat Luigi’s mansion 2 for the first time a few weeks ago. The first game is my favorite of the trilogy followed by 3 then 2. Maybe the next console is right upon us and will have GameCube support via the online service and they are saving games like Luigi’s mansion and wind waker for that.
@Freek how is the Doinksoft collection? Gato roboto is the only game in it I’ve played a bit and it just didn’t hold my attention very long.
Yesterday I finished Echoes of Wisdom but I’ll probably go back and finish up some of the side quests. I enjoyed it. I’ll also throw in some splatoon to try and get thru the catalog a bit and Fzero 99 to attempt the satellaview stages. These new stages they’ve added to 99 are so tough. I’ve yet to complete the Ace cup. I always make it to big blue 2 and rank out. These are so cool to have tho and I’ll keep trying.
I’m not familiar with this game but is that the chef from po’ed, it sure looks like him. Night dive really is rolling out these old shooters which is nice but I’d really love them to try their hand at a timesplitters game.
Haha this is fun! I really like all things Christmas so this is right up my alley. I have no qualms either with the Mario 3 homage. If a game pays respect to something highly revered from the past and can give it a clever spin like this I’d be happy to purchase this as long as it plays well.
I dunno I haven’t really been bothered by it, to tell you the truth my old eyes haven’t really noticed it. I remember in links awakening the swamp area had some slowdown but it wasn’t jarring. Overall I’ve enjoyed it but links awakening I had more fun with. This one the combat just isn’t as fun and cycling thru all the little monsties is a bit cumbersome. I love the art style tho and setting.
This game sets somewhere between an 8 or 9 for me. Zelda is always pretty high up there which makes them my favorite games. I do prefer the traditional dungeons but with the unlockable tool that solves puzzles and opens up secrets to the overworld. I hope we will get classic Zelda’s for years to come but the recent departures have been good as well. This game in particular, I appreciate that we got Zelda to play as and the dungeons are nice. I just wish the wand wasn’t such a heavy influence, cycling thru recipes to cook up for a mob fight can be annoying and gives a bump to combat to the back. I’d liked to have gotten Zelda’s shieka outfit in the beginning as my gift from impa to disguise in and the combat would’ve been different enough from link but more exciting than what we got from the princess to.
Wow this is incredible! I can really appreciate the Fzero support out of nowhere. This series really needed a resurge and I need to upgrade my membership asap.
Ok so the machine decals, will they actually change the body style of each as well? The satellaview machines look very different from the base game but I hope we are getting those to race as well. I would absolutely love to have a physical version of this game, like splatoon tho, I do hope this game will give us a bots offline option so we can play this long after the servers shut down.
If this is legit my concerns would be the lack of a proper d-pad, it seems too skinny(I’d be afraid it’d overheat easily, and that’d it’d be easy to drop), and hopefully this thing will have a docked option (I’m rarely ever a handheld player). I love my switch but I sure hope we’re not confined to using only joy cons as that was the switches Achilles heel.
@JohnnyMind I’m not very good at fighters either but casually enjoyed street fighter, mortal Kombat, smash bros, and soul caliber. Smash and soul caliber are probably my favorites but both of those games were kindve like big sumo matches for me where I relied on ring outs. If it had been included like it was in the mvc arcade 1 up cabinet, X-men mutant apocalypse would have been my most played no doubt about it. It was an excellent beat em up and featured some button combo moves like Ryus uppercut for wolverine and his fireball for cyclops optic blast. Marvel war of the gems would have also been cool as it’s much the same game but with other marvel characters.
When I get my physical copy mvc2 will be my most played I suppose. It’s no surprise that’s most people’s favorite. I’d be curious if mvc3 had been included where it’d fall. 2s most people’s preference but I may have liked 3s roster a bit more.
I just had a random thought for splatoon going forward. What if we get the inclusion of sting rays and manta rays as character types. Big man being featured as an all new species of host could spell something new for splatoon. I could see them fitting right in; swimming seamlessly in the ink much like the squid/octo tribes we got. The big difference I guess is that big man doesn’t change his form from manta to human-like form but I guess it’s ok if they just went to an upright position, much bigger hit box to.
@PikminMarioKirby I’d love a return for Nintendo consoles. The 64, GameCube, and maybe gameboy/color, and gba. I just don’t see it happening now, they are pushing this subscription service with classic games so much and I think they want to keep that as the only option.

I just skimmed through this but didn’t see local multiplayer mentioned, is there that option? I’d grab this if it had that to play with the family.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd November)
