Re: Review: Sid Meier's Civilization VII (Switch) - An Incredible Game That's Not Quite Ready

TYRANACLES

This seems like another case of portability vs storage space, and maybe performance depending on what else you could play it on. For me it’s switch vs Xbox. The last game ran much better in the X, this one probably isn’t as big of a difference from the sounds of it but the big thing for me is I don’t have as much storage on the switch for all the dlc and patches this will get and the switch won’t allow you to play on larger map types. I could maybe pick up the base game on a sale for switch down the road for the portable aspect but first I’ll go with the X and even then only when it gets more dlc to bolster it.

Re: Nintendo "Establishing Ways To Respond" To U.S. Tariffs, Says Furukawa

TYRANACLES

@batmanbud2 I hope you’re right buddy. It’s discouraging to me that over 51% of the population chose these mean spirited thugs to run things in this country. I know it affects me but I’d just rather not even watch the news these days where criminals are freed and made heroes. I hope at least that people will see this was a bad decision and can remember what made this a good country to begin with.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th February)

TYRANACLES

I’m on the road this weekend but did play a bit of balatro and wario land 4. I’ll be getting back home late tonight so I hope to finish up Indiana jones and the great circle. I’ve had a great time with it and would like to go back to get some of the collectibles I missed. I’m missing one skill book in the Vatican I had picked up in the streets while running from a nazi horde, I died and the book is now gone but not collected.

Re: Video: We've Played Civilization VII On Nintendo Switch - Here's 15 Minutes Of Gameplay

TYRANACLES

This game has my interest but I’m not sure I’ll like some of the changes. The magnet status every country gets when entering a new era is one thing I really don’t like and picking a leader Togo with whatever country you so choose is a bit odd to me, I guess you get more possible ways to play it but I just like to make the scenarios feel a bit more authentic. Also I don’t care for multiple versions of one leader. I’m sure I’ll get this on down the line when we get more content to play with.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th February)

TYRANACLES

I’ve started playing in Indiana Jones and the great circle, so far I’m really liking it. It’s very faithful to the source material for sure. The punches in this game have a very satisfying smacking noise like the movies. I’ll also go back and finish up castlevania aria of sorrow and get the correct ending

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)

TYRANACLES

I’m winding down castlevania harmony of dissonance, wowzers is there a lot of back tracking in this one. All in all I’ve enjoyed it but opening up something on one end of the castle to hike all the way to the other end to go thru a portal to another castle and back to the very spot I left in castle A, is a bit much. I’m excited for the next game in the gba line tho. I’ve played on some Mario kart and pizza tower as well. That War level on pizza tower is pretty tough tho.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th January)

TYRANACLES

I’m playing in castlevania the advance collection. I beat circle if the moon for the first time a couple of days ago and now I’m making my way thru harmony of dissonance. This game is a pretty big step down for me from the latter. The quality in music, sound, and lack of difficulty so far is noticeable for me. It’s still a good fun castlevania but I’m kindve suprised they went there with it. I e played the gba games some time ago but never completed them and I do remember liking them best to worst 3,1,2.

Re: UK Charts: Donkey Kong Barrels Past The Competition To Claim Gold

TYRANACLES

It’s good to see DK is still relevant in 2025, hopefully this will encourage Nintendo to give us a new game. I’d like to see a return of the Kremlings myself. The post rare games are good to me but they lack good enemies and a good main antagonist like K. Rool. Or Nintendo could go with something original if they want but make it more interesting than tiki masks or even the Viking bunch in tropical freeze didn’t have the same amount of variety and heart as the kremlings.

Re: Rumour: Diablo 4 Is Claimed To Be In Development For Switch 2

TYRANACLES

@Zuljaras @The_Pixel_King Yes preach! Both of these games would be insta-buys on switch for me if that was the case. I’ve lost a couple characters on D4 due to connectivity issues which really really kills the game for me. I’ve uninstalled it and haven’t gone back since early launch due to this. Such a shame.

We really do need some of the fallouts and the mass effect trilogy in switch. Those are classics.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Feel About 24 Racers In Mario Kart 9?

TYRANACLES

I have a lot of faith in Nintendo and as crazy as I think it’d be in Mario kart with double the racers and double the blue shell/ lightning bolts/bullet bills, I feel Nintendo will make sense of it. I also don’t know how this would work on many of the shorter tracks. I mean imagine how congested baby park would be.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th January)

TYRANACLES

@Zuljaras holy tomato BISQUE!!! That’s a lot of switch! This begs the question, what else have you got in your archives. Also im curious how the Witcher 3 set with you? Sometime ago you were playing it for the first time, so what did you think? It’s one of the few games I’ve been able to put so many hours into it for the story despite not loving the gameplay. I cannot get into games like dark souls or monster hunter for the combat, it’s just very clunky to me rolling around and timing those perfect parries and such. Witcher tho hooked me and I had to learn it to advance. I would think it was all the things you would like tho. Also were you lucky enough to snag the soul reaver collection they had physically on limited run? It sold out before I could get one but it’s on their distro so I’m hoping other retailers will have it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th January)

TYRANACLES

We’ve all got a cold this week so yesterday I mostly revisited the samurai Jack series on the couch. I’ve played the first few levels in DKC returns. This game i haven’t played since the Wii days so it’s all new to me again. In’ having a real swinging time with it. I’m also planning to peck away at shin chan summer vacation yada yada. I like it quirkiness sometimes, I really don’t get the humor in this game at all but it’s weird and I like that.

Re: Feature: Everything You Missed In The Switch 2 Mario Kart Reveal - Characters, Features, Easter Eggs

TYRANACLES

This is would be a great launch title and we are so long due for something new but I just wonder how they’ll change up the formula. More racers is exciting. Dunno how in the world they’ll make it bigger and better than 8 tho. I just hope we can at least get the same amount of tracks from 8 it’s just a lot. They will probably fill things out with dlc I guess. I did feel 8 could’ve used some more stages in battle mode, I’d like some more done with it. I’m glad they’re sticking with Mario kart but I am suprised we weren’t getting a Nintendo racer here with the few inclusions of Nintendo characters we got in the last one.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Gives First Official Look At The New Console

TYRANACLES

Where’s the innovation here Nintendo?? It was a bit of a let down here but even a meatier switch is worth my money and I’m so happy to be able to continue on with the switch library of games I have. This was just a snippet so maybe there will be some surprises in April. The Mario kart game I saw there was that for sure a new one or same old 8? Ine thing I’m let down with is the removable joy cons I don’t know the switch burned me so bad on joy cons with those flimsy sticks. The switch lites were much better quality I thought. I hope these sticks are durable. The switch could use some sort of feature with the triggers like Sony has that have the different pressure points. Also I really hope we get a good party system and greater online support. I could probably do away with another console if that happens.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th January)

TYRANACLES

@Zuljaras well I’ve been told I like a lot of cute video games haha but I have quite a diverse pallet. I can’t think of too many Nintendo franchises I do not like. I could do without fire emblem since I’m not much on traditional rpgs with the exception of the Mario ones, Kirby I’ve only recently gotten into a bit mainly because it’s something easy to play with my daughter, Star fox has had more misses than hits for me to. Resident evil I do enjoy fairly well, 4 and the remake of 2 and 4 were a lot of fun. Castlevania I just wish we still got games from. I’ve liked most all I’ve played. I haven’t played all of the lords of shadow games but the first one was ok, the 64 games I couldn’t get into all those years ago, and then there’s the odd fighting game that came out on the wii that I never played. I loved all the metroidvanias and classic level based vanias tho, did you ever try the two bloodstained games? They were great. Classic vanias rondo of bloods my favorite with 4 right there with it and then sotn would be my favorite of the big open world ones.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th January)

TYRANACLES

@Zuljaras I’m another that always likes to see your games played or your nice sculpts you’ve made. I’ve noticed some constants in your selections. You sure do love your castlevania and resident evil. Those are mainstays. I’m curious to how many times you’ve beat them over. As far as Nintendo first party titles it seems they aren’t as well liked. I’ve seen you play Pokémon, Zelda, and I assume you’d like the Metroid games as well. An obscure game I’d think you’d like is spartan total warrior for the GameCube. It’s a very good hack n slash, sort of plays like a gauntlet legends.

Re: Anniversary: Resident Evil 4, One Of The Greatest Games Ever Made, Turns 20

TYRANACLES

@JohnnyMind same here, but this game I bought day one because I had read so many articles at the time that were glowing about this game. It seemed to be heavy on action and I’ve always liked a good shooter, so I rolled the dice and it really did become one of my all time favorite games. I have never had an experience before or since where I felt such overwhelming dread, than in that opening act where you’re in the village surrounded by all these farmers with pitchforks and axes and then a big crazy guy with a chainsaw lopped my head off from behind while I was fighting for my life. I wasn’t angry but I was shaking and on pins and needles, I just turned off my cube and let out a sigh. This may sound unappealing to you because there is definitely a horror aspect but there’s also a great sense of you playing as a bonfide hero and you’re given plenty of arms to deal with the creepy people.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th January)

TYRANACLES

We’re snowed in this weekend so I’ve finally beaten Mario and Luigi brothership. I played this a bit when it first came out and was pretty bored with it at first but picked it back up a month ago and since have really enjoyed myself after the slow start. I really enjoyed the boss battles in this one and some of the puzzles were fun. It saddens me the team behind this game has left Nintendo tho.

With that out of the way I may try to finish off Kirby forgotten lands. This weekend we’ve been watching a lot of football and I’ve been helping my daughter crochet something while the wife makes me jump with all the yelling between plays.

Re: SNK Announces ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 3 And Vol. 4 For Switch

TYRANACLES

@Zuljaras I’d bite on that I forget exactly how many metal slug games there are. I’d like to see what we got on the wii collection all those years ago plus the gba one. Magician Lord is tough as nails, I never made it that far but I’m with you, I was drawn to it when I had it on the virtual console back in the day and I love that opening track if nothing else. Rise Magical Slug!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (New Year Edition)

TYRANACLES

@Ganner I give you credit, you see I jump at the discounts usually and now I’m stressed because my backlog continues to grow and my time with games is too short. I think it’s better to exercise control and just be content with what you have. Greeds an ugly thing.

I’ve taken a break from Snowrunner. Currently I’m in Tamyre and unlocked the awesome Taygar truck with its suspension but I turned it over on a mission far from a recovery point and just had to put it down. I’m back on Mario and Luigi brothership and just made it past the first great light house and having a good deal of enjoyment with this one despite its slow start. Pizza tower I just started and so far it’s blown
Me away, it could be my game of the year as long as it never lets up. Mario kart got some play as well. I’m trying to get those golden tires.

Re: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Switch Physical Pre-Orders Are Now Live (US)

TYRANACLES

I am way more excited for this than I was for marvel vs capcom. The power stones alone are what gives this collection the edge. I’m hoping capcom will do some other collections like another beatem up, a viewtiful joe collection, maybe give us the arcade collections physically( tho I’d rather have some of the console versions instead; like in the case if slam masters). Capcom is king outside of Nintendo. There’s so much.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th November)

TYRANACLES

@Ganner gulp I can only imagine I’ve had those moments just in Michigan but got better with the mechanics and I’ve wrapped up a good deal if the area I’ll probably head to Alaska next but this game has been tough for me. When I fail it’s another long trek through the mud. I wish I could find a warehouse in the island region to cut down some on time but haven’t yet found a way to open one up there.

I’ve also been playing Tetris with my daughter which is always a good time sink.

A real shame welll never get to experience the satisfying pop of xenia onatopps’ leg vice. This property would have been a great fit I think. They could have toned it down enough I think to make it suitable maybe for e10 or something. There’s a LOT of movies they’d have to work with with everything from jetoacks, shark tanks, actual tanks, and the power of voodoo. I believe we missed out on something good here.
