I beat the campaign of Hyrule Warriors AOC a few days ago so I’ve mopped up most of the side quests but now I’m at a place where I can only farm for materials to get any further. I put it down and went ahead and started the latest release Imprisoning War. I love what I’ve played of it so far, the mechanics have gotten deeper and it runs much smoother. The one thing I feel I’m going to miss is the amount of side content that opens up on the map as you move along. I’m still early into it but so far it seems skimpier in that department. My daughter will join me on a battle or two I’m sure and maybe I’ll sprinkle in some Overwatch.
@molkom same. I have such fond memories of timesplitters. I was completely gutted when plans for a reboot fell thru. I’m happy to see there’s still some signs of life in this series tho. Hopefully it will get some traction and we could see this or something akin to this come to consoles someday.
@Medic_alert your comment is kindve how I’m leaning on this one. I’ll try it out some more but I’ve played thru the story mode once so far and I’m liking this games presentation but the core gameplay I’m lukewarm to it. It’s a bit chaotic at times and I feel like I’m out of control at times similar to how I’ve felt in some of the Sonic games at top speed. I never tried Air riders back in the GC but I think I like Kirby’s adventuring games much better.
Did I see Sauron in there? That’s a deep cut but I take it we will get a savage land level which would be so awesome! This game has sentinels and potentially tail whipping reptile men, the more this game resembles the old X-men arcade cabinet, the more I’ll like it.
@Zuljaras you are missing the essential Game Genie in your photo there…how on Earth did you beat Spider-Man without one??
I beat ninja gaiden 4 during the week so now I’m playing bits of mystery heroes on Overwatch and Kirby air riders is staring at me in the shelf still in the plastic I may give it a spin as well.
I have Rtype, Kirby, and Bubble Bobble sugar dungeons preordered. If Tomb Taider definitive edition gets a physical release I’d happily get that as it’s a classic. I will be preordering Neon Inferno next week. For anyone who hasn’t checked this game out, I highly suggest looking into it. It’s one part side scrolling contra-like shooter and another part gallery shooter like Wild Guns. It looks fantastic.
Today I wrapped up prince of Persia and the forgotten crown and what a great time that was. I may go back to this one if I ever pick up the dlc. Also I played through three more chapters in ninja gaiden 4 and a little time was spent with wobbly life with my daughter, I get a sense of simpsons hit and run with that one every time I take my pastel colored car and careen off a bank into a fire hydrant.
Performance and graphics had nothing to do with me not purchasing this one. This Pokémon actually has a problem for me that none have quite had before but it’s that it feels so confined. I just don’t like the idea of hunting Pokémon only in this town. It kindve sucks the wind out of the sails for me keying back on the exploration into a big open and wild world. They could’ve kept the Pokémon hunting in the city and still had the wilderness surrounding it. I’ll still get this tho if they bring out some substantial dlc addressing this and of course in a proper physical release, like they did with sword/shield or Scarlett/violet.
This is very disappointing. This game I was really looking forward to and would’ve bought day one physical. Now even if I get it, it’d be digital and on a deep sale…which rarely happens with Nintendo.
I’m all over the place right now. I’m primarily playing a few games on gamepass right now so this weekend it could be any one or two of these. Ninja gaiden 4 I’m still working thru. I like this game pretty well despite all the gore. It’s a challenge and action packed. Prince of Persia sands of time has been my favor of the games I’m playing on the service this round. I’ll most likely play on this one some more. Such a good quality game that I do already own physically on switch. Nine sols I’ve just started and I’m conflicted about it. I see a very good quality game here with interesting characters and story, but the combat is pretty tough where you take damage parrying but you want to do that to build up your meter to release a powerful attack. I’ve barely started that one but I am intrigued. Steamworld build is a fun city builder that is quite simple and easy to get the grips of, can steamworld do no wrong? Besides whichever gamepass game(s) I continue, this one I own, but wobbly life with my daughter has been a hit. We played on this sometime ago and completed most of the main game only to return to it after seeing it had updated to find the new space expansion. It’s been wonderful with so much to do. It’s a fun goofy little game full of exploration and keeps us laughing so I’ve been thankful for that.
The most interesting part of my weekend tho will be the new puppy we are going to suprise my daughter with. She wanted one forever and we’ve tried fish and a giga pet which she has handled both with such great care we decided it’s time for a pup. It’s her birthday and she doesn’t suspect a thing as we’ve been hiding it at friends and families homes for weeks and that has caused a bit of a problem as everyone is becoming attached but they know how much this means for her. I cannot wait to see her reaction to the puppy coming in late to the party in a present after we wind down.
I mean that’s fine I guess as it is one of my favorite games of all time but it already has had the redux treatment, if anything I’d say Zelda 2 is at the very top of the list. I think that’d be a very interesting remake.
Theirs is no better baddie to rip up then sentinels. So happy to see them here. I hope there’s some sort of gauntlet mode where I can just face off against waves of these pallet swapped tin heads. I’ll tear into them like sardines out of the can.
I’ve about wrapped up ball x pit, it’s been good fun but there are a couple of characters you get that aren’t very fun to play thru with and it’s a pretty quick beat. I’m also working my way thru ninja gaiden 4. It’s a bloody good time to.
@mlt those were terrible. I still want to go back and play thru origins because I love the setting in Egypt but those segments really screeched my progression to a halt. Odyssey doesn’t have those and I had a fantastic time with it, it’s a very long game tho. Valhalla I tried but put down pretty quickly for some reason. Both of those don’t have the present day segments so maybe this one won’t as well.
There’s plenty here I’m looking forward to. Metroid, Kirby air riders, Hyrule Warriors, Terminator, hades 2, octopath 0, Yooka, and mortal kombat, double dragon are all preordered. I’ve also got the good old days preordered that’s not out yet for this month and cosmic invasion I will definitely get whenever it’s available.
I’m not really sure. I love Animal Crossing but I’ve kindve got my fill of this iteration. I’d much rather they’d held off and saved their resources for an all new one. It looks like more home designing and fluff to decorate with or clothing to wear is all that we’re getting here. The game consoles would be so much cooler if it didn’t have to be linked to your online account. If anything I’m more discouraged that we won’t be seeing a new animal crossing anytime soon.
@SillyG well said. Binding of Isaac I played years ago on the Wii U without any real knowledge of what all was on there but I find decapitated babies, themes of child abuse, and all the blasphemous content it has to be distasteful and offensive. Needless to say I put it down and never went back. It’s a personal choice, and anyone who steps on you for what you believe in are the ones with a problem.
@HammerGalladeBro @Sepenterror both really should have been put together for capcom stadium that would have been a great set but it looks like they’re going to want to charge us for both seperately. As far as zero thevkamikaze squirrel it looks like it is included but oddly not a part of the title. In the showcase video you do see it along with the two Aero games.
I’m not the biggest musuo fan either but I have liked the Zelda games quite a bit. I guess it’s the characters you get and the music is really good and production top notch. I’m excited for this one and really am interested to dive in with some of the new mechanics I’ve seen them show off in the battles with the zonai tech.
Im still holding off on this and waiting to see what the dlc does for this game and then maybe I’ll buy whenever they release it all physically. For now I don’t think I’m missing much. For me the biggest drawback for this game is being stuck in a drab old city the entire time. The immersion is shot here. I want to catch a Mr. Mime shaking an apple tree not resting on a park bench.
Nightdive are true modern day heroes aren’t they? I can’t wait to see what more they have in store. My dream would be for them to bring back timesplitters.
Animal Crossing wild world would be great to revisit and I’ve always wanted to play more of that weird game called Contact I think. I wasn’t much of a handheld player ever so I missed a lot of games for those systems.
Earlier in the week I finished up Ace Combat 7 and had a wonderful time there. It’s the only one in the series I’ve ever played and I can say it’s the best flight sim I’ve ever played, tho that’s a very short list.
Now I’m on prince of Persia the lost crown. Im seeing a very good quality game here. The only knock I’d give it so far are the controls for the bow are a little weird, I wish there was some way you could see an outline of where your shots going to land. I’m really liking it so far and can see myself getting the most out of it, exploring all the crannies.
I’ve canceled my preorder on this. This is the most confined a main Pokémon adventure has looked, the gameplay itself looks ok but I’m going to wait and see. Probably wait until there’s dlc all included as well with hopefully some new areas to explore.
@Ganner yeah the Top Gun dlc totally works for this. I actually found myself humming Danger Zone a few times I was rolling and weaving through the sky dodging rockets. Its a terrific flight sim, I’d love to play it with a flight controller.
@Dogorilla such a horrible game, and even somehow it has a whole slew of sequels with a new one on the way. It’s appalling really. Why oh why did the second chance genie smile on Bubsy and not something like little kings story, metal arms, freedom fighters, kickle cubicle, or I-Ninja??
@RiasGremory yep it’s my game of the year as well and I got a road block on that challenge also and haven’t attempted it again for sometime. There’s just too much to play and so little time.
I haven’t had a whole lot of time to play much of anything this weekend but I intend on making some more progress on ace combat 7.
The pikmin jingle did kind of give it away but at first I thought it was a tiny chibi robo, or a stealth mode chibi robo here. The little frog puppet also made me think of it.
@Ganner I’m looking at picking back up snow runner myself, it’s been months. I remember you had been playing Ace Combat 7, did you complete it? I started playing on it this weekend but I’m on a pretty frustrating mission right now.
I’m pretty divided on this game. The actual wrestling is pretty fun and you can have good matches it’s just we get the same game every year and they charge you so much for all the extra. You can’t buy a $100+ game anymore and get all of the content anymore. I usually wait for sales on these but this pack really only includes one new wrestler and a bunch of skins, I really just want a new experience in a wrestling game. Ultra pro Wrestling I wish could pick up a developer and give us a no mercy sequel the old timers have been churning for, that would be a fresh breath of air again.
So far I’ve beat Touryst which was an interesting little game, I loved its design but some of the platforming killed me.
Lego party will most likely get some play this evening as my daughter and I had a great time with it. I got stomped in it by her and the cpu which was kindve a suprise for me. I’m used to holding back a little to let her have that fighting chance but nope she took off and had absolutely no mercy on me.
I’d like to get the Mario galaxies out of the package and give 2 a whirl as well. It’s such a magical game.
This is one of my most anticipated games here. It reminds me a lot of the classic men beatem up with obviously a more diverse moveset, I could even say I wished that was toned down a bit, it’s almost a blend of X-men arcade with a marvel vs capcom combo system. I’m sure I’ll love it but the tagging in and out is a bit too over the top for me and does take away from the feel of surviving the waves of enemies being thrown at me as a lone hero or a tandem. Luckily that’s our own choice in how much we use the tag ins. The roster is very unique and by and large is more of the cosmic variety of heroes which works for this setting. Iron man and phoenix definitely fit here with the other recently announced black panther, silver surfer, ghost rider, and beta ray bill. More to come is always nice but I hope we get more levels first and foremost, we’ve got a great roster as is.
@Lord I’m wondering that to, I preordered it sometime ago and the box art didn’t list it as code in the box. Hopefully Dinkum gets a global release, I think it looks like a fun little game.
I wonder why my copy of galaxy 1 and 2 won’t arrive until December 28th? I’ll probably cancel that and try to pick it up this week in store. Dinkum I’m interested in checking out, that one slipped by me. There’s plenty here I’ll scoop up.
@JohnnyMind how are you liking Everybody’s Golf? I’ve preordered a physical but it won’t arrive anytime soon until the rest of my order is filled. I’m hoping I’ll like it but I’ve heard very conflicting things.
I won’t have much time to game this weekend due to all the fall festivals we’re going to but later I’ll play a bit of Overwatch and maybe some Kirby Forgotten Lands Starcrossed and/or Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity with my daughter.
Maybe Pokémon should go back to 2d or something closer to it. The bite sized games were fine enough and at least offered an open world that was smooth and palatable.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Meet The Team
Adding Myles Mackenzie would’ve been the perfect opportunity to add a friendly fire/permadeath/morality system to the game.

@Lord I’m wondering that to, I preordered it sometime ago and the box art didn’t list it as code in the box. Hopefully Dinkum gets a global release, I think it looks like a fun little game.
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For October & November 2025
I wonder why my copy of galaxy 1 and 2 won’t arrive until December 28th? I’ll probably cancel that and try to pick it up this week in store. Dinkum I’m interested in checking out, that one slipped by me. There’s plenty here I’ll scoop up.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th September)
Re: Round Up: The Latest Previews Are In For Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Maybe Pokémon should go back to 2d or something closer to it. The bite sized games were fine enough and at least offered an open world that was smooth and palatable.
