Once a game comes out that matches your character's facial movements to your own when you speak during multiplayer I'll probably pick one up. Plus an AO rated poker game should definitely be considered by someone at some point.

I mean yeah what am I gonna do, not have one? I love it and I use the pedals for every game.

You may have removed some incentive for them to tweak it with that 8, but I'll hold off and do my part.

It's nice but like every other case it's too long for my backpack, I'm not carrying around just my Switch like a little purse. Why has nobody made a case that fits just the tablet in the main pocket with two smaller pockets on top for the joycons? It would be so much more compact for travel and its so easy to attach/detach the joycon that it's not really much of a hassle for those like me who actually take this thing everywhere.

I wish they were just a bit more to the left so it made sense to leave it reversed. As it is DK is too cut off.

@Teksette the point is more and more games are getting DLC than not these days with no definitive edition and its only leaning further in that direction and whether or not you have your preferences it still doesn't change the fact that our games are largely moving to the hard drive whether we like it or not.

My main complaints now are that I have to constantly tilt my controller all the way down to recalibrate the gyro which didn't seem to be as big as issue on my Pro1, and I find my characters facing the opposite direction after a dash in Smash Bros than I ever did on the last controller so I'm having to learn to release with less of a flick which is very annoying and causing a lot of mistakes. Otherwise it's pretty comfy and I like that the sticks are quieter.

@PessitheMystic @Duffman92 @JJtheTexan Everyone blabbing about the costs of development, can you answer a few things for me?
1. How much of it was crowdfunded?
2. How much will each unit sell for?
3. How many units will he sell?
4. Have you ever started a business?
5. Do you think $200k is a lot if he only has to sell 2000 units at $100 (hypothetical figures) to break even with a potential market of 25 million customers? That's 0.008% of the people that bought the Lite just to get his money back (again, hypothetically. feel free do your own math if you know what he's selling these for but it hardly matters if you double or quadruple these figures, you still look ridiculous for calling it a waste). You don't think that's realistic?

Y'all know as soon as it gets DLC it's no longer all "on the card" right? Yet somehow that gets a pass for some reason.

Any plans to drop the time limit or other fixes to multi-player yet?

I'm really excited to try Fantasy Life but it will only happen after they remove the time limits from multiplayer. My girlfriend and I played the entire 3DS game together recently and there's no way we're jumping into any sort of gimped experience for the sequel.

PS4 CPU. Maybe this is why No Man's Sky runs like ass.

This is like half of a baby step away from the bean mouth phenomenon that the world is collectively sighing exasperatedly from. Gimme more of that stop animation.

They really butchered my interest by adding Pauline. I was watching what should have been a great moment of the game but she was making obnoxious happy noises at EVERY little action DK performed, I had to mute my phone but guess what was playing: Stickerbush Symphony. Mindlessly smashing rocks for hours isn't my idea of a good time to boot.

No Man's Sky runs like dookie, I can't believe anyone is giving it a pass. It's like ScarVi on Switch 1.

I was genuinely excited to jump into this one with the girlfriend. Shame.

They want to charge us again because they know we were stupid enough to buy Mario Kart 8 for $80 and Welcome Tour for $10.

If they start the new generation off with OLED then 4 or 5 years from now people will be complaining about burn-in, which is barely an issue on the low nit Switch 1 OLED but on a screen with 600+ nits HDR on the Switch 2 it won't take long at all for retention to build up for people like myself that always play at max brightness.

I wish they hadn't lied about the screen being HDR. It feels so intentionally held back for the inevitable upgrade in a couple years. Mario Kart is extremely underwhelming as a launch title, I want a story to get lost in but instead I'm driving around in circles and thinking of all the ways 8 was better. Many 3rd party ports are performing way worse than I would have expected. IDK it doesn't feel like $700 well spent yet but I'm sure I'll change my tune in a couple years.

You cannot fix this game. You can make it run better and have more pixels but that doesn't address the incompetent design decisions oozing from every corner.

@Dizavid a game should look presentable so I know it was given care by a passionate team. Find me uglier buildings in a game from the last 20 years, I dare you. That's indicative of yet another rush job, you'll see that same low-energy incompetence in many other areas of the game design guaranteed, and I've learned my lesson with this company way too many times to not take hints when I see them. Spend your money how you like but I'm too old to be tricked into thinking dopamine = joy.

Oh bummer, I was only interested in getting this because my girlfriend and I love co-op. Is it true it's really on a timer now? That's actually sad, all those delays and they couldn't get such an important aspect down. I personality find the single player of the 3DS game a mind numbing bore 90% of the time that's only worth putting up with if you have friends around.

Please be a good game. Like an actually good game. I'll buy it day 1 on the Switch 2 if they actually put some effort into it. I don't know why I can't let myself get excited.

This is sad. They should have done whatever it takes to get it working. No update can circumvent the limitations of the cable tech they chose to go with afaik. This company cuts too many corners.

I wish they'd just burn these games and pretend they never happened but something tells me the next entries will be even worse now that these have finally outsold Sw/Sh and they know they can get away with it again.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I hope I'm wrong but the 3DS game already feels dated in many ways and this looks like a near 1:1 copy with higher resolution and some light Animal Crossing land deformation elements tacked on. The monsters, jobs, combat and furniture needed to be completely rehauled to feel modern but they just don't have it in them as a company I think and all the delays and negative feedback from testers tells you all you need to know. Maybe it will suprise me.

I'll be waiting for HD. Not going back to the old sail. The game deserves 4K HDR (not to mention wide screen)

Between this, Gollum and RoP I think it's safe to say that LotR is dead. But you can never take my love of the books and movies.

@Tayrailbridge oh yeah God forbid we have more than 5 titles in 30 years from a beloved franchise.

I won't say this game ruined TotK for me but it kinda made me a little more critical than I might have otherwise been to put it lightly. If you haven't treated yourself yet you have no idea what you're in for.

Game Freak will never get sympathy from me. They have children hooked on gambling while they push out the most bottom of the barrel content imaginable. This couldn't have happened to a better company and I hope it keeps happening.

How evident was the Switch 2 screen's HDR to you? Did bright lights have that glowy effect? Did colors pop?

I would love having access to both. The original look is classic but give me HDR and 120fps!!

@elpardo1984 Vietnam is literally saying they'll drop their tariffs to 0 if Trump will, but of course when the console doesn't end up cheaper after that you won't say a word.

I'll once again probably only buy the new Zelda, 3D Mario, Animal Crossing and Smash. MAYBE Pokemon if GameFreak somehow pulls a miracle out of their ass and become somewhat competent but i don't see that happening, so that's $350 for 4 games after tax and before DLC. Then I'll get a bunch of indies like Silksong that I don't expect to be near $80. So for the console and two controllers I'm probably around $1400 for the generation since I don't pay for subscriptions otherwise you'd add another $200-$400. I imagine most of you will easily be closer to $3000 or more over the next 8 years not including the inevitable Lite for $400 and Oled for $500. If I had to pick, I would just build an amazing PC for that price and a couple hundred dollars worth of Steam games, but I can't miss Animal Crossing so here we go.

@TruestoryYep brother you're on a site dedicated to a company that reuses Goombas and a million other things a million times like their lives depend on it, please sit down. Sekiro wasn't Bloodborne, neither of which were Elden Ring. Just say you couldn't get past the first boss in any of them 🙏

@Burning_Spear the issues go well beyond bugs and performance. Nothing could fix this game beyond more competence. A lot more.

Quite a bit of work goes into changing an SDR game into HDR unless they're using some sort of AI auto HDR which I highly doubt. I get why they'd want to charge a little money for that reason alone (although it could be argued that it's not on us to fund their modernization efforts considering it was their decision to pass on HDR for the Switch1 in the first place). I'm sick to death of this gen of Zelda so I'll pass but I'm so excited for whatever the next game will look like.

This is the perfect game and yes I will buy it again.
