Re: Switch Emulator 'NxEmu' Is Back And Hopes To Avoid Nintendo's Wrath

@ChakraStomps I cheer for playing games on hardware that makes them look somewhat modern. I cheer for modding communities who add exciting features to games. I cheer for the law that says emulation isn't illegal. If you're admitting that you would personally steal if you got into emulation then that's on you but don't put that on others, I don't steal from physical stores and I don't steal from websites.

You should have your keyboard taken away until you're older.

Re: Opinion: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Looks Cool, But It's Lacking Arceus' Unique Style

SpaceboyScreams

What I really wanted from ZA was to wash the taste of **** from my mouth after ScarVi, not remind me of it from the vapid look of architecture reminiscent of a freshman college student's game development class project circa 2005 to the soulless art style. Arceus may not have been remotely technically competent but it at least had vibe and style with the watercolor aesthetic and mysterious setting. I'm still excited to see more but if this trailer did anything it was to remind me that if GameFreak does anything right anymore it's by mistake and to not expect a pattern of it.

It just looks like such a carbon copy of the original. What exactly is new that's supposed to excite anyone, an "artist" class that I assume will be another cut/copy of cooking/smithing/sewing/etc? And placing furniture outside? I wanted to see WAY more from this, like a bunch of new enemies and ways to do combat and ways to interact with friends. Literally every enemy they've shown so far is ripped straight out of the 3DS game. Good for anyone who never played that I guess.

Re: Alleged Concept Art From Cancelled Donkey Kong Project Emerges

SpaceboyScreams

I'm glad whatever this is didn't manifest. The deviation to a Mayan vibe was fine for Returns but it doesn't need revisited, it holds none of the charm of the OT or Tropical Freeze. I hope I'm not alone in hoping they try harder to recapture/modernize the SNES vibe in the future considering so few games come close to having that magic in the decades since.

Re: Community: Did We Miss A Switch Game You Love? Send Us Your Recommendations

@Polvasti are those really the best quotes there are to call for her cancellation? How do either of those statements hurt you? Like just scoff and move on. What's really hurting your people is the way you overreact and attempt to control language, discourse, etc. Your movement reminds me a lot of PETA. I love the people as individuals but I'm embarrassed for the perception you're creating for yourselves as a whole. Attacking a beloved series because the author "doesn't believe something happened" or other such soft offenses is not a battle that will win you any favors with those outside your group.

Re: Best Zelda Games Of All Time

@poudigne I just did the dungeon in the desert and thought it was really good? 2D will obviously feel a little less epic than 3D but I don't feel like it's any worse than prior 2D Zeldas at the very least.

I wanted to be upset about how low Echoes of Wisdom is but then I saw all the games in front of it and realized for the hundredth time that this is just really an amazing series. But yeah Echoes is great, better than Minish at least if I'm going to follow through with my initial plan to protest.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

SpaceboyScreams

9/10. I love it, I just find it weird that in between all of these well-built towns there are so many bland hallways of rough nature. I would have expected more beautiful roads, pathways and manicured greenery etc out in the wild to flesh out the experience, like there are very charming areas... In towns, and very cute architecture/furniture... In houses. Outside it's patch of grass here, wall of trees there, hundreds of enemies here and there. It's so lonely outside of towns too, NObody travels? Besides that I can't say I have many complaints. Hitting start to see my list of echoes fixes the scrolling problem yet nobody mentions that. The framerate was really bothering me but I fixed it with a mod. I don't want it to end, it's so lovely and such a fun concept.

Re: ICYMI: Yes, Dungeons Return In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom

@Mega64 They are still following the old style. The Ultra Beasts in BotW and "temples" in TotK are just objectively worse versions of the older games. Smaller, less substance, less atmosphere, less rewarding. Watering something down isn't evolving it, they just clearly lacked the manpower to focus on them as much due to all the focus the rest of the games took, and that's fine for everyone that loves all the new stuff (including me!) but it's still an obvious sore spot. I'm curious which games you think nail temples the way Zelda used to.

Anyways, I'll definitely "play another game that does those" buys Echoes of Wisdom
