Re: Pokémon TCG Pocket's Next Gen II-Themed Booster Pack Arrives Very Soon

@nukatha Right but it means you can't just set your deck up to run only Megas and have objectively higher odds of winning than anyone who doesn't. They aren't stage 3, they're a replacement for stage 2, so you have to strategize how to build your deck with them and when to use them. They're also not significantly better, they basically just have enough extra HP to tank an extra hit maybe, or enough extra damage per attack to win a turn earlier, nothing groundbreaking, just yet another fun way to mix up the meta which is already much more varied than the first few seasons and winning relies more on skill than luck than before too (it will always be luck based to an extent, that's the nature of card games) so I'm not sure what major issue you're talking about.

@DarkCoolEdge 9 is a weird sample size. By the end of each month most consistent players will have opened the free 60 plus an extra 10 from the free daily hourglasses and who knows how many more from mission rewards etc, it could be anywhere from 80 to 100 packs on average each month before you consider paying for Premium (which I don't and don't recommend) or take Wonder Picks into consideration. By then you will have several nice cards.

@PeterTomlan86 It didn't have time constraints. You could wander the whole map together at your leisure and do whichever dungeons you pleased, or bosses, etc. and help each other accomplish life missions from area to area, not designated areas on a timer.
That was ages ago to boot, I would have hoped for a significant evolution by now instead of it becoming a mere afterthought.

Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Offers Buttery Smooth Performance On Switch 2

So many of you clearly have no idea how taxing a dozen+ high quality hand drawn layers can be, that can change dramatically even just one room over between the several hundreds of rooms, when several of the layers are animated, especially when several of them have effects applied for atmosphere, especially when there are several hand drawn characters and enemies on screen at any given moment pulling from their own unique lists of hundreds of unique frames alongside your character's own. "wOwWy ZoWwiE iT cAnT dO 120 hAnDhElD bUt iT's jUsT 2d" bros stop it, just stop.
I want to know how intensely it was graded for HDR. It can be 60fps for all I care, it's about the atmosphere for me and I've yet to play a 2D game with impressive HDR.

Just waiting/hoping for more to do with multi-player at this point. I'm loving all the support it's getting so it will be very full of content and polish when/if I finally jump in with my girlfriend but the system/limitations they have right now makes it seem like we'd still primarily be focused on our own single player adventures which just isn't what we're into lately. I don't want to do 30 minute dungeon crawls with her then go back to the story all by myself.

Re: Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion Gets A Free Demo On Switch 2

Awe man that was rough. Tried it with an open mind for a good hour. It's SO sluggish, the input lag is absurd, the LOD has a harsh line like 4 inches from your character on lots of textured surfaces which is very distracting, the enemies are so dumb - you mount a turret near the beginning and the drones just stare at you until you manage to explode them with a barrage of bullets that only hits them when it feels like it. Aiming crates and stuff while throwing them is such a finnicky chore. Aliasing everywhere, horribly dated bump mapping resolution on every close up shot of anything but particularly egregious on your mech, though at times in fast action and zoomed out it's not bad looking.

They reeaallly should have thought about getting that framerate up. Nothing about the visuals gives me the impression this should be less than 60 fps, totally kills it for me.

Re: Round Up: The First "Hands On" Impressions Of The Pokémon Legends: Z-A Demo Are In

@VoidofLight I've seen enough online footage to be worried but nobody uploads 4K 60 HDR to do Switch 2 justice, maybe there's a magic to it in person that YouTube can't capture. That's not going to fix the countless flat jpeg copy/paste windows, railings, plants etc you'll be stuck in the whole time, which it seems nobody wanted to address despite the clear and present worry about it online, which makes me think they were told not to address it.

Re: First Impressions: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is An Attempt To Catch The Hardcore Again

@ImpromptuR What exactly are you complaining about? It's a person sharing their experience of a game they played for 2 hours, you need them to pretend to be Walter Cronkite about it or something? To answer your question, Digimon was doing temporary glow-ups in the 90's well before Pokemon incorporated that mechanic in their games.

I don't care how fun the battling is, 80% of the reason I play games is their vibe, and this game looks ugly and soulless. Arceus was great for many reasons but one of the biggest reasons was the atmosphere. Whoever decided to strip all of that away for the sequel is probably the same person that decided ScarVi were ready to ship.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Playable Switch 2 Demo Appearing At Upcoming Events

Cool new battle system stuck in an ugly setting that took away the unique graphics and exploration in nature that made people love Legends Arceus. I can't get myself to spend more than $5 on a game that can't be bothered to do more than stretch low quality jpegs over cubes thousands of times and call it a city. Geometric rails on the windows? 3D plants adorning the structures? Not from this richest developer in the world, thank you. You get flat doodles like it's 1998, use your 3D imagination.

I want a Switch 2 update for Arceus.

I hope this does well enough that they're inspired to make something new that feels modern and fresh, I think the talent on board is very capable. Bananza got me hyped on the future of 3D platformers, I am definitely hungry for more and this team has more promise than most.

Re: Fantasy Life i Scores More Fresh Features In Next Month's Update, Here's What's Included

SpaceboyScreams

I would only be interested in this game if I could play with my girlfriend without time limits. I want to explore the map, finish life missions, find loot and level up together without worrying about the clock. As nice as it would be to do the story together, I'm not even asking for that because I don't want to sound greedy, but I don't see why there has to be so many limitations.

Re: Kirby Air Riders Has Been Rated For Switch 2

SpaceboyScreams

@LazyDaisy That's pretty wrong actually, public sentiment in the community is that a Deluxe version with a few more DLC characters, less input lag and buffering, 4K 120hz HDR and better online would be just about the perfect Smash experience. Ultimate is, well, ultimate - it just needs a little refresh. A mixup risks being a step down in multiple ways, from roster size to needing a gimmic due to not being able to be much more perfect than what's already basically perfect.

Re: Mini Review: WaterField Designs Magnetic Case For Switch 2 - Simple, But Brilliant

SpaceboyScreams

It's nice but like every other case it's too long for my backpack, I'm not carrying around just my Switch like a little purse. Why has nobody made a case that fits just the tablet in the main pocket with two smaller pockets on top for the joycons? It would be so much more compact for travel and its so easy to attach/detach the joycon that it's not really much of a hassle for those like me who actually take this thing everywhere.
