People had it wrong when they thought this was collection was about laying the groundwork for a new MVC. What have we seen since then? The new Arc System Works game that’s inspired by MVC, Hasbro and Bandai are putting out figures that are MVC inspired while never crediting Capcom, even Cosmic Invasion is full of obvious MVC nods, seems clear to me that Marvel’s ultimate goal is mining MVC nostalgia while not actually making a new game with Capcom, the collection was basically marketing for all this. Regardless the collection is great and I’m grateful it was able to happen.

Well the reverse of that is Nintendo is being extremely cynical seeing this flower with its dull voice and assortment of equally dull lines as the best thing since baby yoda that must be featured in more games and a cheap yet expensive desk toy, the cynicism comes from just how dull and generic this talking flower is because they don’t think they have to try harder to make something more unique since they see the audience as dullards who eat it up.
Talking Flower is a very fitting name, it talks and it exists and that’s about it, the proof is in the pudding.

Run an old game you remember well like that in an emulator that will let you force the framerate to be 30fps if you can’t notice the difference maybe it’s time for an eye exam. Use Retroarch and set Vertical Refresh Rate to 30hz, for a fun example play the Genesis Sonic games you’ll immediately notice some things will look odd; if you’re playing at 60fps and Sonic randomly stays a solid blue ball when he jumps I strongly recommend getting that eye exam.

Well I’d say your standards are incredibly low and you’re having a knee jerk response that makes you wanna act contrarian and see others as being outrage merchants. As for your second post it doesn’t really matter it’s not comparable to a more graphically intensive game like DK, if they built the game was built to take advantage of Switch 2 as we seen with other enchanted games it would easily manage a much higher resolution that allows the art to shine.

The art and the zoomed out FOV simply wasn’t made for whatever low resolution they had to resort to using on Switch it’s a significant downgrade over how crisp Streets of Rage 4 looks on Switch, this might have been unavoidable for SW1 but more devs are just going to have to bite the bullet and start including quality toggles for using on SW2 BC when they don’t have a devkit.

What makes it a cheap impression do you have an example of what you’d consider not a cheap impression of Martinet? Most impressions are exactly like this they’ll never sound 100% perfect.
If you randomized those voice clips and had people listen to it blind and asked them to guess who’s who for each one how do you think it would turn out? The most famous clips would largely be guessed correctly but everything else would be a toss up I imagine even from the self proclaimed super fans who are such super fans that they have no idea that Martinet isn’t even the first voice actor of the character.

It’s probably because of the system level button remapping they added in 2020 thinking it was the be-all solution so they didn’t bother to add it until now. Why now? I’d say it’s because they realized that the 1:1 face button letter layout for GC doesn’t work well at all to the point where it would break some games without using the system level mapper so they added this per game setting, in Metroid Prime you’d have to awkwardly use two fingers to do missile combos, F-Zero GX has a similar case for holding accelerate while boosting but it actually has in-game button mapping.
The N64 NSO layouts could be very annoying but I can’t recall if it ever prevented any button combinations like can happen with GC.

Well from the last beta I don’t even recall doing much skillful racing it was very cramp, slow and with awful items that all combined to keep the racers together in a unsatisfying way, it was very off from the previous games by Sumo which all felt like great alternatives to MK. People will just latch onto this to use as a proxy against the grievances they with World regardless of it’s actual merits so be wary of it.

Its part of a bigger picture of what’s going on with Capcom, a year and a half ago it seemed crazy that Dragon’s Dogma 2 was happening and another MVC felt inevitable and what’s happened since then? Dragon’s Dogma 2 was rushed out the door and probably left Itsuno very disappointed about what was one of his dream games, another MVC is on shaky ground and likely isn’t happening anytime soon. The last Monster Hunter seemed like a pure expression of the direction they want to go which isn’t good news. They consistently get RE games out but I wonder how long that can be maintained before it’s stuck being another series that only exists for movies and/or awful Netflix cartoons.

The people who are saying that aren’t reviewing the games, you can find John Linneman who saw it in person calling it unacceptable and he’s an expert at analyzing these things not some journo who thinks some awful phone footage is indicative of it being “okay”. Game reviewers have largely been terrible at calling out performance issues and factoring that into scores.

The killer is the filler, if you just want to collect the base cards it does everything possible to keep you from them considering they keep putting in more rare cards like shinys that are usually variants of cards from previous sets. I’d have to go though the pull rate info to compare to previous months but something feels off about last months set it’s a struggle to get a single new card after five pulls and even then it’s like I mentioned a rare card.

They need to do a $20 DLC called Clown Mode, people will download it expecting it’s cosmetics based off that “hilarious” meme but in reality it’s a mode that documents the game’s lengthy development explaining the whys and hows if it.

It does detract from it a lot I’ve played the it a lot on PS5 having it drop frames while needing to read them precisely when dealing with bosses and their very drawn out attack strings will often get you get killed, Bananza is a much looser experience you have complete control to do whatever you want with DK very quickly due to the lighting fast move canceling and have huge amounts of priority advantage against enemies it’s the opposite of Elden Ring where you have to commit to most moves while bosses won’t even flinch against your attacks which the player doesn’t have the luxury of.

Starfield has some of the most generic fake video game playing on to the background during a tv show vibes ever, Starlink has more unique personality and charm and that’s saying a lot. Uncle Phil’s zealots and acquisition cheerleaders treating it like the second coming pre release only for it to immediately evaporate after release was pretty amusing though.

That’s what it’s always been the biggest difference is that the character is faster and less rigid, the rigidity in Hollow Knight is my least favorite aspect of it the way platforming sections have you always getting sent back on taking certain types of environmental damage, the way combat is held back by how slow you are how short your melee range is and that little kickback you get on landing a hit really turns it into a chore.

I’ll never understand this clown meme it’s just generic image board fodder why did it latch onto this game in particular? What’s clever about it? How does it relate to this game in the slightest? Just seems utterly vapid to me.

UE5 is a scourge and that Matrix demo was bait that the industry fell for hook line and sinker. I think the main reason UE5 exists other than increasing Epic’s stranglehold on the industry is also to make sure hardware makers can keep shoving out new GPUs every year and of course another generation of consoles from Sony and MS despite how horrifically stalled their software output has become, Switch 2 is in a awkward spot because the engine is junk on PS5 requiring all sorts of compromises so what chance does it stand at not falling into the same pit?
