@WiltonRoots Don’t worry the backlash against the backlash is already here, I just saw someone claim that Metroid has never been about isolation and it’s just something that the Internet made up because that’s what having your brain default to backlash against the backlash mode does to someone. By the end of the day you can expect even more bizarre and asinine efforts.
@JohnnyMind Marketing would also be keenly aware that a character like this wouldn’t go over very well with Metroid fans even if the devs think it’s great so it not surprising that we’re only just now hearing about it.
Why do people defend difficulty like this as old school when actual old games often had difficulty options and cheat codes? I know the answer is because people just like feeling superior to others and talking down to them when they have problems with difficulty, and that’s influenced developers as well, but hey, I just thought I’d ask anyway.
@SillyG The pre-rendered game art and this movie are both safe and overly focused tested, think how the characters on Mario Wonder’s box art look vs the in-game models. We had well over a decade of 2D Mario looking and animating like complete flavorless junk because it was seemingly afraid to not look like the pre-rendered art.
@Yosher Well just look at GTA6 which got delayed again today a game that flaunts individually rendered arm hairs and lavishly detailed animations (that will take complete priority over responsive controls), it’s everything that’s sick about the industry but R* has the privilege of not having to worry about just how massively bloated the budget likely is due to the obscene amount of money it will make day one unlike companies like Square Enix who are being backed into a corner.
@nhSnork It should be around 54GB if it’s using the same assets as PS5 which is very acceptable considering the amount of stuff they’ve added over the years.
@mookoo
Why, when it’s just become more true over time? I agree the concept was old hat during the last decade. Then Disney happened, and they immediately started shoving in references and product placement to them into it, which has breathed new life into the idea of Zombie Simpsons because of the sheer, concentrated corporate cynicism of it all that the show in its prime would have savagely mocked.
Now with Disney, the show will never be allowed to end, and its diehard fanbase gets to experience their own mortality as they listen to the aging voice cast continue their unavoidable decline
I wonder if character customization was so limited in SV where you were permanently stuck looking like some 5 year old jobber in dopey school clothes so they could sell people on this game doing it properly.
@Truegamer79 The people saying that know what they’re talking about especially the ones who’ve been playing the games for decades you can’t write this stuff off by labeling it as “so called issues” especially when it’s able to be clearly demonstrated as factual. A lot of these issues are the same ones emulated collections and stand-alone releases by Digital Eclipse/Backbone have always suffered from going back to the 360/PS3 era, their emulation efforts can’t compare to Capcom’s fighting collections or the works of M2. Digital Eclipse tackling PS2 emulation would certainly be something considering the struggles they’re still having with emulating 90’s systems.
Zombie Simpsons and this game are a match made in heaven, those models and their proportions look 🤮 like robots wearing Simpson’s skin suits but it’s very fitting for the Disney era of Zombie Simpsons where it will absolutely never be allowed to truly die.
@FX29 They’ve never really been about innovation, there’s that infamous interview Steve Jobs did in 95 where he goes over this succinctly and it’s only become more true over time. What the Xbox 360 was doing was basically a smokescreen aided by the epic misfire of the PS3’s launch that somehow made them seem counterculture, it got more obvious over time with all the dashboard overhauls that kept making it worse and sucking out the original sprit it had in favor of something bland and full of ads.
@Anti-Matter You have it backwards the xbox division under Phil was drinking the kool aid for years thinking subscriptions and using daddy’s war chest of billions and billions of dollars was going to lead them to the promised land, everything that’s happening now is reality crashing down.
@Kingy Well TOTK won’t stop hitting you over the head about them and the imprisoning war like it’s the most interesting thing ever so it’s no surprise the don’t see the problem with it being too bland to support its own game. They should have stuck to what the original was doing by being a celebration of the franchise as a whole instead of pigeon holing themselves to these “canon” experiences.
@Ultimapunch Nothing they’ve been doing since the acquisition spree and mass layoffs that follow has been any good for the health of the industry. If Xbox as a console was doing well they would have gone ahead with Spencer‘s original dream of locking almost everything they acquired behind Xbox while buying up even more multi billion dollar publishers to gut.
@Antraxx777 Okay you’re doing that but the movement is slow and boring, the enemies are never more engaging than a game of whack-a-hole where the only difficulty comes from some bejng bullet spooges, it’s absolutely nothing like DOOM even if you put on cosplay armor. Games like this and Borderlands were amusing before actual fast paced shooters returned after years of being suppressed by COD and Halo (back when it was actually popular,).
@Sonicka It has to be the that way and be knows it, the original from over 20 years ago was infamous for being lightweight and the core concept was too simple to carry it for long so he’s doing everything possible to address that.
@breach187 That’s the problem they’ve made so much bank on this franchise despite the obvious amount of inconsistencies between core aspects of it like the Pokemon cries, they had the chance as early back as the DS days to finally solidify what they sound like across all parts of the brand but they chose not to and that informs a lot about how they operate.
“ Earlier this year, the similarly titled 'Anime Life Sim' caught our eye with its all-round Animal Crossing vibe. That project ended up being a straight asset flip of the 'CozyLife: Social Sim Game' Unreal Engine template and, unsurprisingly, has since been taken down.” Has anyone pointed out yet that they’re using the same assets? Look at the Ori wolf character he’s in the screenshots for both games with the same name.
@Bluelink45 That and the lack of voice acting which makes this “premium” DLC feel lifeless and below the quality of a user mod especially when even the actual Sonic DLC characters like Werehog Sonic are mute.
“ the DF analysis even states that it looks like it's not working in motion” This would explain a lot about Fast Fusion I wonder if it’s something they could improve on, is a CNN mode for it possible?
Never was much into this when it first released probably because the main character’s sprites and animations looked pretty awkward and dull so it gave a bad first impression.
@whitespy12 The handling is dreadful, in Sumo’s games it felt just right there was never a disconnect between steering and drifting, in Crossworlds steering feels like you’re moving through mud which is suddenly removed when you drift creating a massive unignorable disconnect that’s the leading cause of kissing walls and eating gravel
@russell-marlow The only thing funnier than your posts is the strong possibility that you’ve never played Fight'N Rage or invented some petty reasons why you refuse to or how it having run and evade isn’t good enough because blah blah blah blah.
Tried the demo on PS5 they actually made it fun to move around this time but Laylee’s new design is hideous, I was never that found of these characters to begin with but Laylee looks right out of some low budget CG movie.
It’s cool that they’re using their mid-late 90’s designs. @Thomystic Oh yeah I remember that, everyone wouldn’t shut up about how MK9 just had to be Smash Bros Kart, they always acted like they were geniuses for predicting it, no wonder World broke their brains. I don’t know what a Super Smash Kart would look like but I guarantee it wouldn’t be clogged with hilariously cheap looking Nickelodeon characters
People having a cow over the cow and the other playable random characters is hilarious considering MK has been doing this since play one.
@Araquanid Have you paid attention to consoles for the past 20 years? They’ve been bottlenecked one way or the another since forever, PS4/XBone were infamous for this and before that the PS3 with it’s terrible GPU and split RAM. It’s all laughable anyway when it comes down to the software despite whatever you’re going on about, when the current most popular engines like UE are a shader compilation stutter fest on PC or still somehow not fully utilizing multithreads then no amount of hardware can save it.
@StewdaMegaManNerd Now the people who won’t shut up about “checklist games” won’t even shut the hell about it because they thought this game was on their side by making it an almost impossible chore to 100% free roam.
Now we need a new Mario that features young Rosalina inexplicably and in ways that are impossible to connect with what Galaxy says about her backstory.
@Luffymcduck It has a very blocky NES like look and feel to it due it being a follow up to the Wonderswam game, if it wasn’t for that I’m sure they could have crafted something similar to the PS1 original using the GBA’s capabilities.
They should upload that tutorial DVD for Galaxy 2 they made because they panicked over how massively NSMBWii outsold Galaxy 1 and all 3D Mario’s before it and figured the audience needed to be schooled.
