Re: Opinion: We Need More Couch Co-op RPGs

wuntyme8

Great points and sentiment. Having the co-op option in RPG’s is always a cool value-add, but in these adult life days I think it’d have to be online rather than couch/local for me. Still would love it either way, was kind of disappointed Trials of Mana didn’t have online co-op play.

Obviously it’s more entertaining and complex with action RPG’s, but I’m also still surprised more turn-based RPG’s don’t have the co-op option like Final Fantasy VI did way back in the day.

Re: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Launches May 2025 On Nintendo Switch

wuntyme8

Super amped for Capcom Fighting Collection 2! Might actually preorder for once just to show Capcom emphatic support for both the Power Stone & Project Justice (Rival Schools) series. Would love new modern entries for both of those on Switch too/2!

Having some Street Alpha & Capcom vs SNK games in the collection just sweeten the pot also in their own right for me. Awesome variety of classic games all around. Loved the Dreamcast era.

Re: PlatinumGames Wipes Several Games From Its Website's Portfolio

wuntyme8

Glad to see they still care about Vanquish & Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Would love new entries of those. They should keep all their history listed though imo smh.

Strange things seem to be going on at Platinum as of late- after showing a lot of promise earlier on. Sad to see what appears to be them going downhill.

Re: Capcom's Best-Selling Mega Man Game Reaches Another Sales Milestone

wuntyme8

Recently got a bunch of the Mega Man & X collections on sale (they’re frequently discounted on the eshop) as I had an itch to play some throwback Blue Bomber and had a blast.

Mega Man is a strange “pillar” IP for Capcom in a similar vein of Metroid for Nintendo in that they’re each staples for their companies, the games are usually well-received.. but yet they don’t sell as much as you’d think or hope they should. Glad this entry keeps selling as 11 was an amazing good time!

Along with others here, I still adore Mega Man and would like to see:

  • Mega Man Legends (New Entry and/or Remaster/Remake/Collection)
  • Mega Man X Command Mission 2
  • Mega Man 12
  • Mega Man X 9

Re: Surprise! Capcom's First Showcase Of 2025 Is Airing Next Week

wuntyme8

Excited for Capcom Fighting Collection 2- due to the Power Stone & Project Justice games resurfacing again after so long but...

Capcom definitely needs to revive some of their more neglected IP's on Switch.. like a new:

  • Power Stone (or just a new 3D Arena Fighter in general)
  • Rival Schools/Project Justice
  • Marvel Vs. Capcom
  • Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
  • Street Fighter EX
  • Asura’s Wrath
  • P.N. 03
  • Mega Man Legends
  • Mega Man X Command Mission
  • Viewtiful Joe

... these are some of the things I voted for and mentioned in their survey last year. Please oblige us Captain Commando com.

Re: Random: Xbox Gets Its Own Shameful 'Mario Strikers' Knock-Off

wuntyme8

Should've just called Sega and made a new Sega Soccer Slam! Or Capcom and made a new Mega Man Soccer.
Both great arcade soccer games, jut as good if not better than Strikers in some regards.

I prefer arcade sports games on Switch of which I’d like to see a new or remastered:

  • Mario 3 on 3 Hoops
  • Mario Superstar Sluggers
  • Mario American Football (long overdue)
  • Mario Hockey (long overdue)
  • Mario Sports Mix
  • NFL Blitz
  • NHL Hitz
  • Wayne Gretzky’s Hockey
  • Base Wars
  • Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball
  • Sega Soccer Slam
  • NBA Street
  • NBA Showtime/Hangtime/Jam
  • NBA Give N Go
  • Punch Out!
  • Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
  • Def Jam Vendetta
  • Hydro Thunder
  • Virtua Tennis

… just to name a few.

Re: Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble Update Adds Among Us DLC

wuntyme8

Haven't played a ton of this game yet, but the multiplayer seems to leave a lot to be desired- wish the DLC focused on that aspect rather than cosmetics, most of which I haven't used already in my Deluxe Version. The single-player story mode levels are classic monkey ball fun so far though.

Still gotta admit I prefer the GameCube era Monkey Ball games overall though in graphics, physics & multiplayer for sure.

Re: Review: ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom In The Mist (Switch) - An Incredibly Polished, Downbeat Metroidvania

wuntyme8

I played it a long time ago, but I remember Ender Lillies 1 being a love/hate experience for me. Some frustrating design choices, cheap boss tactics and lack of direction sometimes hindered an otherwise wonderfully ethereal game. Overall it ended up being about a 6.5 or 7/10 for me.

Although still appealing, I think I'll wait for a sale and a dearth in my backlog before considering grabbing this sequel.

Sidebar: Other somewhat Hollow-Knight-likes I'd love to see a sequel of would be Blue Fire (3D Hollow-Knight imo), Death's Door & Tunic (isometric Hollow-Knight-likes) lol.

Re: Ubisoft Confirms Another Wave Of Layoffs, With 185 Employees Affected

wuntyme8

I’m not an uber-fan of them or anything… and I haven’t played a bunch of games from them lately… but from what I have played and remember- I don’t think Ubisoft games are as bad as the online sentiment seems to be. I can probably think of worse big-box Publishers that have become a shell of themselves who have also engaged in practices that are anti-fun, anti-consumer and shown a lack creativity perhaps. Anyhow, prayers up for the employees that lost their jobs.

Re: Opinion: My Daughter Made Me Realise That Mario Wonder's Difficulty Options Need Work

wuntyme8

Save for like 2 or 3 levels near the end, Super Mario Wonder as a whole was way too easy and too short imo. Still a good game, but it was definitely a noticeable shift in easiness overall- even without using the special characters or ghost saves.

Most Mario games have always had a good amount of challenge and even as a child I enjoyed them regardless. Nerfing them entirely might only weaken us as a society lol.

Re: Feature: Switch 2's Mouse Support Is Exciting, But Which Current Games Might Also Benefit?

wuntyme8

Basically I want a Switch version of the Wii Zapper (or even the SNES Super Scope or NES Light Gun) peripheral for more pointer shooting games.

Usually most Nintendo peripherals are only used for one or two games then become just extra plastic taking up space. But the Wii Zapper was actually used in a bunch of games and was pretty cool. Made some home console games feel like you’re at the arcade with cabinet guns.

Re: Feature: Switch 2's Mouse Support Is Exciting, But Which Current Games Might Also Benefit?

wuntyme8

Nvm the limitations set on the article… a new Mario Paint, Kid Icarus Uprising, Star Fox, Sin & Punishment, Mario Maker 3, Links Crossbow Training, Ghost Squad, Duck Hunt, Yoshi’s Safari & Zack & Wiki games (just to name a few off the top of my head) could be awesome with this proposed mouse functionality on Switch 2. Albeit I’d be perfectly fine them being still made without it and more traditional controls as well.

Re: Bandai Namco Promises To Release Tales Remasters "Fairly Consistently"

wuntyme8

I’m realizing that as much as I like the ‘Tales Of’ series, I in actuality haven’t played a whole bunch of them yet (only Symphonia, Graces F & Vesperia thus far).

As such, Namco please go ahead and Remaster them all (and done well like Vesperia, not like Symphonia- as another user mentioned) into reasonably priced Collections or individual entries and I’m in!

Particularly interested in playing Xillia 1&2 and Berseria on Switch for the first time. Although I’ve heard some of the older handheld entries are quite good as well.

Re: Capcom Intends To Continue "Re-Activating Dormant IPs"

wuntyme8

Capcom defintely needs to revive some of their more neglected IP's on Switch.. like a new:

  • Power Stone (or just a new 3D Arena Fighter in general)
  • Rival Schools/Project Justice
  • Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (... 2 lol... or even MvC 3... 2 lol, since it wasn't bad and added some good characters in its own right)
  • Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
  • Street Fighter EX
  • Asura’s Wrath
  • P.N. 03
  • Mega Man Legends
  • Mega Man X Command Mission
  • Viewtiful Joe

... these are some of the things I voted for and mentioned in their survey. Please oblige us Captain Commando com.

Re: Random: Have You Ever Triggered This Rare Super Mario Galaxy Dialogue?

wuntyme8

Reading Mario Galaxy came out 17 years ago hurts me physically. What is tyme anymore?

But also reading & remembering that Nintendo celebrated Mario’s 35th anniversary in 2020, bodes well for some type of Mario celebration for the 40th in 2025… no? Hopefully not in the form of scarcity/deadline based anti-consumer-friendly bullish marketing & sales tactics again though smh

Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Version 1.1.1 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

wuntyme8

@garfreek yup I agree. Definitely need more non-motion Party Mode minigames. I’ve noticed the same thing. And while the motion games can be cool, I still prefer playing with a pro controller- and it seems so does most of the online community going by how much easier it is to load an online match if you turn motion games off vs. keeping them on- but again then you sacrifice some variety potentially smh.

On a somewhat separate note, I also sometimes prefer the 1 v 3 or 2 v 2 minigames though, just because they actually have true losers. The 4 Player games reward too many losers with coins still… especially with so many coin games (with no real losers at all). Altogether I think everyone gets too rich too easily in MP with no real merit associated with said coin luxury in most cases.

How can you strategically stop someone from being able to afford stars or items if every minigame they still get a decent sum of coins pretty much even if they “lose” the game? Either change the payouts or up the prices in the game. Everything is too cheap and easily afforded tbh… not to mention items being handed out almost every turn in one form or another through lucky/item spaces anyways.

Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Version 1.1.1 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

wuntyme8

Wish there were more Bonus Star Options/Criteria like in previous MP’s (Most Coins at One Time, Most Minigame Wins, Most ___ Spaces etc.). And while it’s nice they tell you what the Bonus Star will be at the beginning, I kind of wish there were like 2 more Bonus Stars who’s criteria remains hidden & random at the end of the game. Would make the finale still interesting whereas in Jamboree, you kind of already usually know who is going to win already before it even ends because of all the “knowns”.

Also, the 1-3 Dice Item is too nerfed if any other dice boost item can not only cancel it out, but also still retain its full boost value. Think those items should only cancel it, but then you just have a normal dice roll.

Overall though, great entry! Obv still wish for a couple more boards, party minigames & unlockables/achievements, but all the other modes kind of make up for it. I do worry about the long term viability of the online though with so many segmented online modes & options. Party Mode should always be the main focus imo. There are also too many minigames exclusive to non-Party Modes- which limits the variety a bit in the main mode.

Re: 'Nintendo Music' Adds Classic N64 Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included

wuntyme8

@YunoboCo Because money/precious Wario Coins. The service is tied to NSO memberships, so in order to maximize incentive for people to stay subscribed… they will continue to do drip feed release frequency to slowly extend the service smh.

As for this drop… X is not my favourite F-Zero OST, but cool that it’s here now. Would’ve preferred the original, GX or even 99 first.

Still waiting for Fire Emblem Engage, Zelda TOTK & Xenoblade Chronicles DE OST’s to be added since they were all fairly recent Switch releases. Should be good to go.

Re: 'Nintendo Music' Update Adds Wii Sports Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included

wuntyme8

The Wii Sports Theme might as well be the gaming National Anthem imo.

My Top Switch OST Requests (First-Party):

  • Fire Emblem Engage OST
  • Xenoblade Chronicles DE OST
  • Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OST
  • F-Zero 99 OST

Honourable Mention: It’s not on Switch obv, but all the DS System Music… similar to how they uploaded some of the Wii themes & channels tunes. Wii/DS era was a groovy Nintendo generation that had a lot of charm for sure.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 13.0.3 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

wuntyme8

Put the Smash Fighter Passes on sale or include them in the NSO Expansion tier Nintendo. That will revitalize the online matches some.

Also add Random to the character select for Online matches & tournaments that makes it a different character each match. That would be fun.

Also also include the Victory Music tunes in the Music Player please, I need to be able to play Cloud’s FF7 Victory theme and/or Sephiroth’s chant music on repeat in custom stages.

Re: Sega's Gamescom 2024 Line Up Includes 'Global Premier' Of Unannounced Project

wuntyme8

I still enjoy some Sega games (specifically when they’re not so focused on just Sonic). Sega, it’s long overdue and time for a new:

  • Skies of Arcadia
  • Jet Grind Radio
  • Sonic Adventure
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Phantasy Star (Offline)
  • Billy Hatcher
  • Vanquish
  • Binary Domain
  • Shinobi
  • Virtual-On
  • Virtua Tennis
  • Sega Soccer Slam
  • Catherine
  • Trauma Center
    etc. please & thank you.

Capcom fighting games I’d like to see a new release of on Switch:

  • Power Stone (or just a new 3D Arena Fighter in general)
  • Rival Schools/Project Justice
  • Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
  • Street Fighter EX
  • P.N. 03 (honourable mention… you fight robots… ok I know, I just wanted to keep it’s name alive)

... to name a few. Please oblige us Captain Commando com.

Re: Poll: Are You Ready To Move On From The Switch?

wuntyme8

My backlog says “Nope”. I’m pretty happy and comfortable with riding this current iteration of the Switch for probably another year or two… maybe even more. There’s just so much content to get to and so little time, plus I’m enjoying playing older games I missed out on prior that are being ported, remastered, remade. Those types of games usually don’t gain much from running on a newer system so I’m more or less fine with the Switch as-is for now.

The new system would have to be pretty compelling hardware with some equally compelling software to match it- not to mention other OS improvements & apps. Plus a decent price point with me concurrently having some excess disposable income on hand to indulge.

Re: Rumour: 'Tales Of Xillia Remastered' Switch Release Spotted Online

wuntyme8

Always down for more Tales on Switch! I 100%’d the Vesperia Remaster which was awesome, although kind of drawn out towards the end. Was sad to hear about the mess with the Symphonia Remaster (but I’d already played that one so I passed). Hopefully they get this remaster right. Would be great if they bundled Xillia 1 & 2 together like they did once with Symphonia & Dawn of A New World.

Regardless, I would happily add this to my lovely continuous conveyor belt backlog of RPG’s to play on Switch at some point. In my Switch Library it goes- finish an older purchase, backlog another new purchase. This is the way.

Re: NBA 2K25 Scores September Release Date And A Trio Of Cover Athletes

wuntyme8

I’m an NBA 2K fan (been playing since 2K2 on the Dreamcast), but I rarely play sim sports games on Nintendo systems due to the usual system concessions/constraints (download sizes, downgraded graphics/performance, missing modes, gameplay changes, weak online etc.).

I prefer arcade sports games on Switch of which I’d like to see a new or remastered:

  • Mario 3 on 3 Hoops
  • Mario Superstar Sluggers
  • Mario American Football (long overdue)
  • Mario Hockey (long overdue)
  • Mario Sports Mix

  • Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
  • Def Jam Vendetta
  • Hydro Thunder
  • Virtua Tennis

… just to name a few.
