Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Donkey Kong Bananza Are In

wuntyme8

I have faith this will be a great game. I just hope they also still have some traditional DK environments too (i.e. jungles, aquatics, snowy areas, mine carts etc.) to explore in 3D despite the story taking place underground. I’m also hoping the breaking of different rocks doesn’t become repetitively mundane after a while.

Re: Nintendo Drops Teaser Video For The Switch 2's 'C' Button

wuntyme8

C Today Button confirmed. This button will simply open the new Nintendo Today App on your console too.

All jokes aside I have low expectations for this button’s actual functionality despite all the hype & intrigue it’s been generating for some reason. Think it will be something pretty mundane or that I have little interest in, in actuality.

Re: Absurd Arcade Basketball Game 'Dunk Dunk' Dribbles Onto Switch In May

wuntyme8

Basketball doesn’t deserve this… Can we just get a new:

  • Mario 3 on 3 Hoops (from Nintendo and/or Square)
  • NBA Showtime/Hangtime (from a Midway successor)
  • NBA Give N Go (from Konami)
  • NBA Street (from EA [Big?])
  • NBA The Life / The Inside (from Sony)
  • Tecmo NBA Basketball (from a Tecmo successor)
  • Backyard Basketball (from Atari SA)

… quick fast and in a hurry please? Cuz this ain’t it.

Re: Random: Takaya Imamura's Holding Out Hope For A Star Fox Movie

wuntyme8

Production I.G. already made a pretty damn good official Star Fox anime short you can still watch on YouTube.

Tbh I’d rather see that style of a show rather than a one-off movie. If Nintendo has let Kirby, Donkey Kong, Mario, F-Zero animated series be made (all with varying degrees of quality & critical reception), then I don’t see why Star Fox couldn’t get one too, with multiple seasons as well. ¯(ツ)

Re: Poll: What Switch Game Could You Not Live Without?

wuntyme8

I could say Smash Ultimate (or Hollow Knight/Slay the Spire- probably my fave Switch game discoveries this gen) like some others have mentioned…

… but I’m gonna go with an oddball in Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics! That game has always been there for me for simple, quick, bite-sized gaming session reprieves whenever needed. Really hope they make a comprehensive, “Ultimate” version sequel- Clubhouse 102 Worldwide Games (with more & deeper Card/Strategy games, rule variations and match customization/randomization).

… Wun can only hope.

Re: Chrono Trigger To Celebrate 30th Anniversary With "Various Projects"

wuntyme8

Played the original release many times, and although it’s not on Switch- it can be played elsewhere still.

I’m team full-blown Chrono Trigger remake for this classic gem to get a wholly new, yet familiar experience. Or even just a new game in the series entirely (I enjoyed Chrono Cross). Do it now Squeenix.

Re: Capcom Provides Update On Game Changes In 'Fighting Collection 2'

wuntyme8

First game I’ve preordered in years. Wanna show Capcom strong early support for Power Stone & Project Justice (Rival Schools) in hopes that it motivates them to make new modern entries in both series!

Also, preordered so I can get my little gold coins off the purchase seeing as by the time the game releases, the program will have been discontinued.

Re: SEGA Wants To "Reinforce" Its Core Studios, But Don't Expect New Games Soon

wuntyme8

I still enjoy some Sega games (specifically when they’re not so focused on just Sonic). Sega, it’s long overdue and time for a new:

  • Skies of Arcadia
  • Jet Grind Radio
  • Sonic Adventure
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Phantasy Star (Offline)
  • Billy Hatcher
  • Vanquish
  • Binary Domain
  • Shinobi
  • Virtual-On
  • Virtua Tennis
  • Sega Soccer Slam
  • Catherine
  • Trauma Center
    etc. please & thank you.

Re: 20 Years After Its Demise, Publisher 'Acclaim' Is Being Resurrected

wuntyme8

Now that’s a nostalgic reference seeing the Akklaim (yes, that’s the name I’m sticking with too) logo. They were cool in the SNES & PS1 era. Could be interesting if they help bring about a modern resurgence of arcade-y (namely sports & licensed) games. I mean EA Big isn’t around anymore either to do them. Might as well bring back Midway too while you’re at it!

Re: Game Vouchers Won't Work On Switch 2 Exclusives, Says Nintendo

wuntyme8

Surely Nintendo will still support the OG Switch with new games even once the Switch 2 is out. I wonder what unannounced first party Switch 1 titles are still in the pipeline for release soon. I still have 1 Game Voucher left expiring Oct 2025. And the game vouchers are really most useful when using them on newly released full-priced games (before they start getting, the albeit minimal, discounts).

Re: Hideki Kamiya Wants Nintendo To Reboot Virtual Console For Switch 2

wuntyme8

Not saying it’s right, but I think Nintendo thinks Virtual Console takes away from their main/new releases. When people want something cheap and nostalgic to occupy their time some may choose VC over say paying for a full priced rerelease or new game maybe. I think it’s also why they’re particularly selective/trite on what older games they add and when.

Nintendo seems to offer less quantity of games now overall (despite consolidating into one current hybrid platform, rather than supporting two simultaneously as was the norm for decades) as to not cannibalize their own offerings… again in their eyes I assume.

That being said, as others have said- I’m all for Switch Online & VC coexisting together. Or just NSO, but with an option to purchase games too.

Re: Can You Name These Zelda: Majora's Mask Masks?

wuntyme8

Highly doubted my ability to remember much of this having only played the original once over 2 decades ago now when I was still a child, but still managed a passing grade. Not great, but not bad!

Love it! More quizzes & more polls! Ask us all the things NLife!

Re: Star Fox-Inspired Space Shooter 'FUR Squadron' Is Getting A Switch 2 Sequel This Year

wuntyme8

I honestly wouldn’t mind if Nintendo made Star Fox Adventures 2 or remastered/remade Star Fox Assault and/or Star Fox Zero for Switch.

I’m also still waiting for that long ago rumoured & hopefully still alive Star Fox racing game too. I think it’d be a cool swap for Star Fox to get a racer and F-Zero to get an adventure game to switch things up for each series. Would be cool if after a long time waiting if we got new games in both franchises soon.

Re: Best Mario Sports Games Of All Time

wuntyme8

On Switch, for Nintendo/Mario Sports games, I’m still yearning for a new:

  • Mario 3 on 3 Hoops
  • Mario Super Sluggers
  • Mario American Football (long overdue)
  • Mario Hockey (long overdue)
  • Mario Sports Mix
  • Mario Dodgeball (something different)
  • Mario Skateboarding/Rollerblading/BMX (something different)

… just to name a few.

Re: Rocksteady Reportedly Working On A New Batman After Suicide Squad Disaster

wuntyme8

Would prefer if Rocksteady moved on from Batman and tried a similar concept with a new IP. We got 3 modern Batman games already (4 if you count the underrated Arkham Origins).

I’d love to see Rocksteady try something somewhat new- like make a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles open world game in the Arkham games’ vein. Other IPs I’d like to see get similar treatment would be Fantastic 4, Superman, Transformers, Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, Darkwing Duck (just to name a few fandoms off-top).

Re: Don't Worry, Dragon Quest XII Is Still In Development

wuntyme8

DQXI S was my first Dragon Quest game (finally). I found it to be a throwback chill JRPG experience- kinda overly traditional, easy and safe… but also still really well executed & beautiful in that same light. I spent hella hours playing through all of it all last year and enjoyed my time.

So now I’m interested in the next entry- which is hopefully a little more modernized (individual inventory management should be left in the past imo). Not as interested in revisiting the older entries via remakes/remasters due to the aforementioned points.

Re: Sony Does What Nintendon't By Removing A Bunch Of 'eSlop' Titles

wuntyme8

Sometimes I wonder if the perceived shovelware is not all shovelware in actuality. Maybe there’s some real hidden gems in the dump.

I think there should be a platform dedicated to testing some of these unknowns out, even if they’re comically bad- they could be so bad they’re still fun lol. Maybe could be a new idea for NLife to try like 5 random Eshop shovelware picks a month and do mini-reviews and/or video content?

Re: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Sold Above Expectations, Says Square Enix

wuntyme8

Square/Squaresoft/Enix/Square Enix/Squeenix is among my favourite game developers/publishers of all time and I love their return to supporting Nintendo with the Switch almost like they did in the SNES era.

Remasters and Remakes are cool, but I'd also like new games too. That being said it's nice that people who missed out or long to play modernized versions of classics on more easily accessible current platforms get a chance to play these gems.

As for my Wishlist of Square Remasters/Remakes and/or even better, New Entries? on Switch:

  • Threads of Fate
  • Vagrant Story
  • Brave Fencer Musashi
  • Super Mario RPG (new entry)
  • Xenogears
  • Final Fantasy XIII Collection
  • Bahamut Lagoon
  • Final Fantasy Tactics
  • Dragon Quest 1 - 10 (not the crappy mobile ports)
  • Mario 3-On-3 Hoops
  • Mario Sports Mix
  • Chrono Trigger/Cross/Break
  • Secret of Evermore
  • Ehrgeiz
  • Fortune Street
  • GO Games (i.e. Tomb Raider/Hit-Man GO)
  • Legacy of Kain (New) (even though Crystal Dynamics/Eidos sold to Embracer- let Square do it)

Hopefully Square can keep up their current output (it's been pretty impressive tbh) whilst maintaining decent levels of quality (with maybe some even becoming new classics like their old titles of yore).. all while also satisfying their usual astronomical internal sales projections.

... yeaaa guess my head is in a Mallow Nimbus Cloud unfortunately with these wishes.
