@Jack_Goetz I started up Splatoon 3 for the first time on Switch 2 earlier, wasn’t sure if the updates it downloaded was the Switch 2 one or just previous updates. Was immediately obvious upon starting up though, is it known what resolution it’s running at in TV mode?

@Cipher36 Out of interest, what don’t you like? Enjoying mine so far, but the short battery life is my only real gripe (20,000mAh Power Bank arriving today)

What does Fast Fusion get for only being digital?

@BrokenCiv The trouble is, if a game has 100+ hour playtime, for the reviewer to play it in full would likely take the best part of a month. Then they'd have to write the review. And then that has to be balanced against the wages they're earning and the expected ad revenue from the article. It's not a problem with an easy solution....

@RupeeClock I got one too! DPD tracking says that the parcel number should be 14-digits, my number only has 10-digits….

Exciting! I picked up 51 Worldwide Games recently for this very purpose!

@Trikeboy It’s just an EA-owned development studio. They make what they’re told to make. Sadly, the shutters will likely come down if EA don’t renew the F1 license.

@TenEighty The Switch is a thin mobile computer effectively. To achieve the same level of power as a desktop machine in a mobile chipset will always cost comparatively more so it’s not really correct to say it’s cheaper… Is a gaming PC cheaper than a gaming desktop?

@Yosher I think most people don’t care about game key cards. For every one person moaning on-line, there are 1000 regular folk who couldn’t care less….

I’m really interested to see how regular Switch games will run on Switch 2… it’s the big unknown at the moment.

@WhiteUmbrella No, I was expecting them to drop it like a hot potato and they did. I do remember them announcing continued support of the 3DS. I think Wii U barely got a mention from the point of the first Switch trailer onwards...

And the photos of the hardware (presumably from the RRA certification), it looks like someone pulled these out the trash…

@-wc- As a lifelong Nintendo fan, were you happy paying $60 for Ocarina of Time back in 1998?

@ParasolStars There’s a possibility that they may already run much better without a patch at all. If resolution is dynamic and frame rate drops below target, then hopefully the extra horsepower will help. We’ll have to wait and see!

@antlion We’ve never been able to do this with Splatoon 2 or 3 (we bought both physically)

@thaimbomb It’s like a Switch but 10 times more powerful and with a bigger screen. I’m pretty sure it’s going to kick-ass, even if I’ll likely mostly be using it to work through my backlog for the first few months…

Plus points:

• Nice specs (as you mentioned) - bigger screen, 120FPS, 4K, HDR, 10x more powerful
• Strong third party support
• Game chat
• Switch Pro controllers and Joy cons will work (wasn't expecting this)
• Gamecube games at launch (including F-Zero GX)
• Virtual game cards (a blessing for us as a family with four Switches)
• Mouse control
• New Mario Kart
• New 3D Donkey Kong
• Strong third party support

Negative points:

• Games expensive (but I expect the prices to come down, at least in the UK, once the retailers start competing with each other)
• Need to pay £6 (or not) for a game/experience that should be included.
• Not too much else for me. Very excited!

@Rykdrew ROG Ally X is like £800! I would hope it could play it at 240fps for that price! Does the full game come on a cartridge though?

@Member_the_game I pre-ordered the original Switch at Smyth's and collected it at midnight so I was playing shortly afterwards! A nice memory, although I was exhausted for work the next day!

Signed up to the pre-order announcements with Smyth's for the Switch 2, but by the time I saw the e-mail they had sold out. Managed to bag one elsewhere luckily, but will have to wait for the postie this time...

But it’s not true, Trump has used made up math(s). Vietnam charge 8.1% on non-agriculture items, the 90% figure is a lie.

@Xbox_Dashboard The pricing may have been set with some knowledge of likely tariffs, but a 46% one wouldn’t have been expected. The software prices are a shock, but the console pricing is bang on prediction.

@shoeses Inflation in the US has been pretty much in line with EU for the past few years. Blame COVID and Putin, not your last president.

I reckon the price of standard games like Donkey Kong Bananza will end up below £60, once one retailer knocks it down, the others will follow…

I’m holding off pre-ordering any games as I think we’ll see prices come down…
