The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sold a total of 5.8 million copies worldwide in its first week.

This includes the combined sales of the Switch and Switch 2 physical releases as well as digital downloads. According to the official press release, approximately half of these sales are for the Switch 2. In comparison, Pokémon Legends: Arceus sold 6.5 million copies worldwide in its first week.

Close to 1.5 million copies of Pokémon Legends: Z-A have reportedly been sold in Japan so far. This includes 872,552 copies on Switch and 612,905 copies on Switch 2. The figures in this region supposedly beat the Pokémon Legends: Arceus opening week in this location by around 60,000 units.

This follows UK chart data earlier this week, which saw Z-A take out the top spot in its first week. Additional data for this particular region revealed overall boxed sales of the new title were 40% lower than that of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and 51% of sales in this location were for the Switch 2 version.
