The lowest since november 1995 is weird, since it wasn't as low as then. So it's "slightly above the lowest". But hey, I'm a data nerd and I care about how people say stuff correctly.
Anyways, I guess those tariffs are working for the US, am I right?
Maybe I'll finally get this game once it gets a Switch 2 version. I've been playing loads of Switch 2 versions of games (TotK, Metroid Prime 4, PL:ZA, to name a few) and I've been having a blast!
I am more excited about the Haunted Chocolatier game, though.
OTT?! Can't we simply spell out "over the top" any more? Man, sometimes reading articles, I have to look up abbreviations because I must be getting old!
I'm still considering getting this game, even though football isn't my thing. But it just seems so much fun!
@Duncanballs Yeah, Xenoblade is awesome. Maybe I should have opted for the option where you auto-attack and choose commands. Maybe I'll do that when I play the full game.
I've put in over 10 hours now and my biggest complaint is not the contact with the troopers and their chattiness. It's the big nothingburger of a desert that's just really boring. Thank the makers that I bought the Amiibo so I at least can have some music in Sol Valley. I just don't get why they were so keen to add a motor cycle and a really boring open area to the game. But bar that, I still rate the game a 9/10, because the other parts are just really good.
My birthday is on March 30th, so I guess I'll have some more stuff to add to my wishlist for that Can't wait to play these games as I totally missed out on them back in the day.
Finished the demo last night, took me about an hour. I have to say that I miss turn-based battles quite a bit. But I did have fun and maybe I should let go of comparing this game to the source material. It looks great, though! I was really impressed by the lighting and stable framerate overall!
Can't wait for this one! I'm still doing some runs of Vampire Survivors every now and then.
@gojiguy, the game has a lot more challenge if you up the ante, such as inverse mode, or limiting the amount of weapons you pick up. So it's definitely not as black/white as you make it seem to be. I most certainly never have the idea that the game plays itself, par a few runs. Yes, it can be extremely easy, but to get there, you need to have some luck and definitely some skill at avoiding enemies until you are too OP to be able to stand still. But, to each their own!
I am going to have myself enjoy the game, rather than reading all about it online and see what's what and who's who. I am very much looking forward to seeing Leon's story progress. But I'll try to do it as spoiler free as I possibly can be. Can't wait for February, though!
@obijuankanoobie I am keen on collecting games physically, as well. But at the same time, I acknowledge your argument in terms of the uncertainty. Although, you can still redownload any games you purchased. The only thing is that you also need the hardware to play them and older consoles have a larger chance of breaking down. PC doesn't have that problem perse, although there could be other compatibility issues there, because of the OS you're running, or hardware you're utilizing.
One of the things that come with modern times now is that when you do buy physically, there will be tons of updates and maybe even content/DLC that will be missing on the physical carrier. So there's pros and cons to everything. Regardless of all that, if you want certainty, neither of all options offer 100% of that.
Monolith are hands down my favourite studio. I can't wait to see what's next from them, be it developed or co-developed by them. They created wondrous worlds to explore and told us great stories. Not to mention their music, which will always be a key part of my very being. Not a week goes by that I don't listen to any of their OSTs.
I haven't played it on NSO, yet. I played the game on Wii U and don't feel a particular need to revisit it on NSO, because the Wii U version is superior. But glad to read that the input lag issues have been resolved!
@electrolite77 The thing is that it's always been like that with Steam on PC, but for some reason Nintendo fans can't seem to get used to the idea that the future will be digital only. I'm very keen on physical collection, but I've got peace with the game key card thing. I wonder how long people will cling onto the Anti-GKC-bandwagon.
Great! I'm not big on demos, but I might just download this one, because I can't wait to play the full game! Especially because of the bonus items, might make it worth everyone's while to play the demo.
A very nice addition! Of all the Mario Lands this is probably the worst game, but it's still pretty good and the music is lovely! Iconic songs, especially the ending one.
I loved this game when I played it coop with a friend of mine. The setting is so good and the gameplay loop is quite addictive. Maybe I'll get this game myself next year, finally. The new DLC looks pretty good!
I truly wonder if there will be any free content updates, or any future DLC for this game. I only play it when I bring the Switch 2 to friends, or sometimes when my wife feels like playing. But it's not been as memorable as MK8 Deluxe for me so far.
I really hate that they slapped the Fire Emblem name on this game. It's so bad. The gameplay is horrible. I played roughly an hour before deciding it was not for me. I hope they refrain from using it for future mobile games.
@Anachronism I agree with your last sentiment on not needing a great story. Look at 300 for example. Eye candy is also nice to watch from time to time. I just found it quite unneccesary for Avatar to have sequels. But more power to people who are enjoying it! I personally can't get enough of Star Wars and love the movies, books and games, even though most of it is milked to death.
Avatar just didn't manage to "hook" me quite like other franchises did.
@NintendoWife Yeah, you are right about us getting at least some more Metroid games. And Dread was really a peak game! I meant a new Prime series entry. And in all fairness, we didn't even know a fourth entry was coming until it was announced 8 years ago. Still, even that amount of years of waiting between the teaser and the actual release didn't help at all...
I am thoroughly enjoying the game, even though I am not too fond of the desert area as a connecting hub. There's just a general lack of things to do and the minor areas are very uninteresting, if you ask me. Still, the world design overall and the gameplay when the game is what we are used to are great. I just hope a new entry will arrive within a shorter timespan than what we got now.
@Smithicus In the age of endless sequels, prequels and reboots, it was pretty obvious it couldn't just stay at one movie. But I entirely agree with you. It just doesn't scale well and it really didn't need to be anything bigger than just the first movie. I have zero interest in the follow-ups, knowing they can't live up to the grandness of the first entry and hearing from others who saw them that they just weren't really worth it.
I'm not entirely sold on the art direction, especially considering the screenshot in the top left. I am a big cat lover and cat dad of four, so I might consider getting this if it's any good! 😸
We'll be eating good next year! I've been excited for this game and between this and all other Capcom, Nintendo and Square-Enix releases, I can see my backlog exploding with great games!
Hmm, I know Metroid isn't a system seller, or anything close to that, but I do hope it sells well enough to warrant a new entry sooner, rather than later. The 18 year wait was NOT good at all. Expectancy of the game itself is way too high and will seldom be met with the actual game. I think Metroid Prime 4 definitely suffered from that. The subreddit is a hellhole that's being torn apart in similar fashion as Star Wars Episode 8 did, or the entire sequel trilogy for that matter. It's never good...
I'll be (im)patiently waiting for a new 2D Metroid now!
Considering getting Monster Hunter Stories and Resident Evil 4, now that there's been a compatiblity patch for the latter. And Monster Hunter Stories is a better version of Pokémon to me. I loved 2!
Well, that's certainly unfortunate, but at the same time, you rarely get a physical edition that will be 100% the final version on the cart anyway. But I do blame tight deadlines for this, which is never a good thing.
Can't wait to see what Sukarai san will be up to next! Personally I hope a new Smash, but I can understand why he'd want to do something else, seeing as the Smash Ultimate nearly broke the man. And I'd hate to see him go under again with all the stress creating such a massive game brings.
"We have received word from our shareholders that their expectations are not met. That's why we will do these changes, so the masses will buy our products. Not because we care about the players."
I just bought the game second hand and I have to admit that the battle system is a lot of fun. I hope I'll be ready for these battles to get the stones. Otherwise I hope they will make their return at some point.
My opinion may be extremely based, but I like this game better than Hades. That's mostly because it's an awesome coop experience. Something I sorely missed with Hades.
Yeah, I didn't think this would just go by just like that. I even received an email from Netflix welcoming Warner Bros. into their midst. As if it was a done deal. I'm certain many involved parties will do everything in their power to prevent this from happening. Monopolies are bad.
I liked this game, but not too keen on the soundtrack. The off-key notes are a bit overused in it. But I'm sure some songs will pass in the shuffle when I listen to Nintendo Music's Top Songs
I'm about 6 hours in and love most of it, but the desert is very boring and I really don't see the added value of an open world element to a Metroid game.
