Hello fellow Nintendo Lifers! We don't have any appointments this weekend, so I should be able to squeeze in some game time! Last week I finally 100% Tears of the Kingdom! Took me well over 200 hours, but I finally did it! I loved the game, even if it has its flaws. I definitely hope the next mainline game will be a bit more traditional and less big. It didn't really help in the end, I think.
What I'm currently playing:
Donkey Kong Bananza: Just got the Elephant Bananza
Pokopia: Still in the first area. I feel like I am not quite done here, yet.
Resident Evil Requiem: Finished my 3rd playthrough and unlocked unlimited ammo. Planning to do a speedrun on casual now, with unlimited ammo.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
I think I will finish FF VII first now, before delving into another JRPG. Probably Xenoblade Chronicles X.
@hanzel Yeah, I don't get the hate. It's not like Nintendo are doing anything the other big players in the field aren't doing. In fact I'd argue that there are way worse offenders than them. But this website and Reddit can be quite the echo room, so I'm well aware of that fact.
That is a hefty price for a piece of plastic. I'll wait for discounts. Corporate greed at its finest, this one. Definitely not going to pay that amount. At least Square Enix had the decency to not ask that kind of price for Final Fantasy VII Remake and even made the price really decent.
And people are saying that games are unaffordable these days. There's so many gems and if you're on the lookout, you can get many games for a tenner or less during sales! Looking at my Deku Deals I saved myself thousands of euros by simply shopping smart. But these games listed here deserve being bought at full price, if only to support indie studios for their excellent work!
Nice additions, overall. I only know Pac-man, of course. The others I will definitely check out, but most probably emulated with Retro Achievements, so I can get some more mileage from these games. All in all a nice update!
Stil hoping we will get translated Fire Emblem NES and SNES games at some point. One can dream!
I played the game back when it was brand new and had my fun with it. This is hardly anything to draw me back in. But it does seem like a really fun feature!
For me, it's A Link to the Past. It was the first Zelda game I owned and still play every year around X-mas, because nostalgia. Everybody always talks about how Ocarina of Time was peak Zelda and while I agree that the game is one of the greatest of all time, the very same can be said for A Link to the Past. Except that A Link to the Past still looks great today! There's just something about the 16-bit pixel esthetics that ages extremely well. I'm afraid the same cannot be said for the low poly models of the N64 era.
I am in no hurry to download this game, as I'm not into multiplayer competitive games. I'll patiently wait and see if the game is any good at all, without spending any money on it.
Voted game designs for all. I dislike the Illumination filter on the characters. The influence is TOO big. I really don't like it all that much. Luckily it looks a lot better animated than in stills.
My biggest gripe with the movie was the lore bit with Rosalina and Peach. I really don't understand why they had to make that change and why there's any reason for it. But I guess that's on Miyamoto san and not caring about lore consistency in the Mario verse in the first place.
Glad to see the games got a sales boost from it, too!
Also happy to see Resident Evil Requiem still soaring the list. I am almost done with my 3rd playthrough. I can't wait for the content updates in May!
Can't wait to start my own soap on my island when I get this game. Which might be a little while, but I will get this game somewhere this year, once I clear my backlog a bit. Almost done with TotK, so that's a big time drain gone.
Capcom is cooking! They're one of my favourite studios of all time. And between all the releases this year so far and what's coming, I am really looking forward to the Okami celebration!
Hello fellow Nintendo Lifers! This weekend I'm celebrating my birthday with my closest friends, so I'm fairly sure we'll be playing some Jackbox games somewhere in the evening, if everyone fancies a couple of rounds!
Since it's a long weekend for me, because of Easter, I'll be continuing these games:
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (98% overall completion) I'm very close to discovering every nook and cranny of the map. Most of what's left is focussed on the sky islands. I'm also chipping away at the quest log quite nicely!
Pokopia: Still in the first area, but I really want to focus on restoring it before moving on. I only play in short bursts, by doing the daily challenges and some requests. I don't want to get bored fast of this game.
Resident Evil Requiem: I'm in Raccoon City with Leon, visiting an old, but familiar locale. This is my third playthrough and I'm getting all the documents and Mr. Raccoon bobbleheads this time around. I should be able to unlock unlimited ammo after this run. Which I need for my speedrun achievement. And to cheese the hardest difficulty. I will probably replay that one properly at some point, but I'm focussing on getting all the achievements for now.
Kirby Air Riders - Just doing some daily races and getting some achievements. I got this game from my wife for my birthday.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: I'm on chapter 18, or something. I haven't played in a bit. But intend to later this weekend.
There's more games I am currently playing. I am close to mastering Super Mario Land 2 with Retro Achievements, which is a really fun and challenging way to play the game. I am also playing a modded version called Super Mario Land 2 DX, which is basically a Game Boy Color release and it's so much more fun replaying this game in colour for the first time!
Well deserved, it's a great popcorn flick and a lot of fun to watch. The plot is akin to the Galaxy games, it's not a shocking one, nor particularly deep, but that's the point! I didn't think it was mediocre, people raise the bar way too high for a movie like this and forget to just enjoy the ride.
I really loved it. What was the most fun thing for me was not just the movie but all of the adults (including me) who got the Yoshi popcorn bucket. It really made me smile 😃
I think critics really don't understand that movies like this are just not meant to be analysed. They're fun popcorn flicks that you enjoy with your brain turned onto a low level. Basically like a rollercoaster. It'll be over before you know it! That was my experience anyway. And I rate the movie a solid 5 out of 7!
I just went to see the movie, for me it was a solid 5 out of 7! A great popcorn flick with the right amount of adventure, fun and nostalgia. The 6/10 you guys gave seem low. I don't get the hate this movie gets. Maybe I'm just an easy going movie watcher.
So, Miyamoto san finally reached an age old enough to not give a flip and do whatever he wants? I really appreciate his love for Pikmin, but overdoing it won't help.
@BTB20 The 3DS and Wii U are an exception to that rule, after they got their price cuts, so not always. But even then, the profit margins are probably not as high as the margins on software.
@IOI Not as inevitable as you think. I believe Nintendo is sitting on more money, so they can probably afford to sell at the current price for a bit longer. They're going to up the ante with a lot of big new games to make up for it, though. The new Mario and Zelda games need to be released sooner, rather than later.
The smart thing for Nintendo to do would be to not follow suit and enjoy larger sales, as a consequence of Sony's bad decision. If memory serves me right, it was always the software that had the biggest margin and hardware was usually sold at break-even or even at a loss.
Looking at the comments on the article, and ignoring the ones accusing us of spoilers (if you genuinely think that covering a character on a movie poster is a spoiler, maybe it's time for a brisk, refreshing walk - just whatever you do, don't walk past a cinema. Or a train station. Or a bus stop...), the sentiment from fans seems to be one of confusion. Why would Nintendo not save this reveal for the movie proper?
Was this really necessary NL? Come on... Don't insult your readers, please. Everybody has a right to their opinion, even if you disagree with it.
They really should have. I mean, by this point we have already seen so much! But I have to agree that it would have been spoiled by the rest of the internet otherwise. I don't know which is worse. It just sucks overall.
@Agent_P There's nothing like capturing that moment when you get sawed in half and look back at all those pictures in the family album on a Sunday afternoon!
"Remember when that happened, Leon?" And everybody laughed and laughed and laughed.
That's great! I don't know if I'll be using it much, but it's great to see Capcom chipping away at this gem of a game. I can't wait for the update in May that hopefully adds Mercenaries mode. Until then I will continue my 3rd playthrough to unlock some more stuff. I have to say that I really missed replaying games that reward you for it. I should be unlocking unlimited guns ammo after this third run!
It's a whole galaxy out there! Although it has to be said, we know so much about the movie at this point... It's going to be hard to be surprised any more once I go to the theatre...
So, basically Xbox type controllers? How inspired... They probably won't be able to wake the Switch 2 up, either. I'll stick with the far superior Switch 2 Pro Controller.

Nice! Missed out on the original, so I might just pick this one up, then!
Re: Review: Pokémon Champions (Switch) – The Most Accessible & Flawed Competitive Pokémon Has Ever Been
Boy, I'm sure glad there isn't any monetisation I spoke of before... /s
I am definitely skipping this one. It seems quite a hot mess and I don't care about competitive play anyway.
Re: Warhammer Brings Its Own 'Vampire Survivors' Game To Switch 1 & 2 This Year
Too bad it's not just another dlc for vampire survivors. I'm not big enough a Warhammer fan to warrant a buy for this game.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Hits Another Milestone As Pokémon Pokopia's Reign Continues
Wow, nice milestone! Despite all the hating I see on Nintendo, the Switch 2 keeps selling nicely.
Pokopia really deserves this, too. It's so good. I still think no one expected it to be this big of a success.
