Glad to see them take their time to do this and not release a game that will require "day one" patches, or whatnot. Looking forward to playing the full game after having checked the demo and confirming that it filled a Game Boy Color shaped hole I had in me.
Listening to it right now on my commute to work! There's so many bangers on this soundtrack! Glad they added it for both versions, too! Guess I'll have to replay TTYD soon now on Switch 2!
Interesting. I will watch the video later, but the fact that there are two models piqued my interest. I am eager to see how tech like this will affect games in a couple of years on Switch 2, when developers are more familiar with the hardware and capabilities of the system!
Tried getting my hands on one last weekend at the local toy store, but they were all out of stock. I guess I'll have to get one online
To be honest, I'm glad they kept the set relatively simple, because it also means the price point could be kept affordable. I mean, this set is a whole lot simpler than the NES set, but also more readily available to most people, due to the low costs. I can't wait to add mine to my collection and display it when I finally make some room in my extended book/game case.
@Gabe250 Yeah, could be, but you'd be amazed how many scalpers are out there, thinking to make a quick buck on games like these. And Nintendo is not exactly known for "printing" some games a lot.
Looks like a fun game and right up my alley, being a Metroidvania fan. Never heard of this title before, not even during the GBA period. Definitely one for the wishlist
I only started Hades 1 last week, but my vote goes to Hades II. I'm certain I will get it once I finish the first entry in the series. What an excellent game!
@JohnnyMind the discourse on this website is getting very old regarding Game Key Cards. And I agree, most of the comment sections aren't about the games at all a lot of the times. I have to admit that I sometimes comment about GKC as well, but I think overall a lot of people in the Nintendo Life community are against them, overall. And VERY vocal about it, too.
That's great news, because now that the darker days are coming, I'm getting in the mood for horror survival games! It would be lovely if Silent Hill was added to that list of options, as I never played a single title in the series (I'm a Resident Evil fan and never owned a PlayStation, except the 4, which I sold years ago).
@Bats1234 It might be people who never owned the original Switch and are just now discovering these classics. I know some people who weren't into Switch, but got a Switch 2 because it's more powerful than the original and the Steam Deck, making it a more viable option for them as their new handheld.
Despite all the backlash the Mario Galaxy bundle is getting, it's still performing very well. I wonder if this is also partially due to scalpers getting in on things. I'm very glad I managed to snatch a copy for € 51,60 via Amazon, thanks to a Deku Deals alert! That was a pretty good deal. My copy will be arriving tomorrow and I can't wait to get started on Super Mario Galaxy 2, as I never properly played it.
We'll miss you, but I'm glad that you chose your own happiness by taking on a new challenge. Sometimes it is for the best, even though leaving is the hardest thing to do. I certainly learned that the hard way.
This is one I'm definitely going to get. The Game Boy and LEGO were basically my childhood. Here's hoping we're getting a SNES set next, because that was part of my (early) teens!
If someone were to get into this series, would this be a good starting point? I love tactical RPGs, but for some reason, I never played any of these games.
I'm also a bit bummed out by this being yet another GKC release, when there are no other options, except full digital...
I recently finished Persona 5 Royal and it took me 140+ hours to finish. I'm not sure I can commit to yet another game like that with my schedule... But if I get this, it'll be on Switch 2. Just bummed out for all the people who can't play it if they don't own any hardware to play the game on, but I guess this is normal during transition times of old and new consoles (handhelds in this case).
Love this kind of stuff. Especially when it's discovered so long after the game's release! This is one of the kind of news items I go to this site for!
I agree that the Nintendo Switch 2 is an amazing piece of hardware and seeing studios create stuff like this only means that some other studios are lazy or just don't care about putting out a quality product, because people will buy it regardless (looking at you, The Pokémon Company!).
@Daniel36 That time has long since passed, I'm afraid. I agree with your sentiment, but at the same time free extra content is always a nice bonus and updates are this are welcome.
@charliecarrot Sure, I guess. But I mean, look at Super Mario 3D World, there you can actually play multiplayer. I never liked these kinds of lazy "2-player" additions that don't really add much of anything for the second player. It's just some way to keep someone busy who is basically little more than an observer.
Ah, yes, the "two player" mode, so you can keep your stupid friends happy by making them think they can control something while you play the game. I'll go tell them they can use mouse controls this time!
Well, there goes my wallet... Once again... I feel like I really have to get these physically, as a collector of all things Nintendo. All I hope is that I can get it at a reasonable price...
Really glad to hear that Capcom was surprised themselves. As usual, it does come down to optimization of engines whether or not they run good/well on certain hardware. I'm just really glad they're bringing this game to the Switch 2. It opens up the possibility of more ports. I'm still hoping for Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2, although I am glad that Stories 3 is confirmed and I am more of a turn-based kind of player than an action game player.
@Fabilous It's a reimagining of the original story. Mostly a very bloated version of the story, which irks some fans, like @Coalescence. but pleases a lot of others, because they have more of what they love, like me.
Sometimes too much of one thing can be bad, but I guess we can always just replay the classics.
I can't wait to play this entire reimagining of FF VII. It was my first ever Final Fantasy game on PC back in the day and I remember spending hours and hours doing side stuff, like raising the gold chocobo, doing other mini-games and finally getting the Knights of the Round materia. Or replaying the game, so I could master the Enemy Skill materia.
I can imagine that it's a huge amount of pressure to perform on this reimagined series of a game that is seen as peak Final Fantasy for most fans (myself included). And I really don't envy Naoki Hamaguchi for this.
As someone who feels that The Binding of Isaac: Repentence is the absolute emperor of this genre, how good is Brotato? I might just pick this up, finally...
I prefer the pixelated Mario & Yoshi set from LEGO, which I still have to build. I mean, this looks great, but I don't have the shelf space, nor the cash for this...
So, it's time to wait for a complete edition? I'm so glad I rarely buy games day one by now. With all those road maps, DLC, season passes and all the other monetisation of games. I just don't feel like I should support it, so instead I'll just wait for the game to enter the bargain section of whatever storefront.
Capcom is definitely back on Switch 2, with a great lineup and an "impossible port"! I can't wait to play all their games. They are still one of my favourite developers after all these years.
I love that the list has gotten longer. The addition of both Fire Emblem games is a big highlight for me, as I only own the original. I'm replaying that one currently and can't wait to try the other entry.
There's still a whole bunch of 1st party games they can release, but I'd love to see more 3rd party and am still hoping we'll see the mainline Pokémon games released one way or another. I wouldn't even mind paying a tenner for Ruby/Sapphire with Pokémon Home support.
I can't wait for this! I'm so excited! Also because we will be seeing the release of several other RE games on the same day. As a fan of the series who only owns a Switch 2 I couldn't be happier about how this game is running on the hardware!
Doug Bowser was so invisible, I almost completely forgot about him. Hope his replacement will bring back at least a bit of the old goofiness that has been sorely missed since the golden days with Iwata San. I wish Doug the best!
Tried it for an hour and then deleted it. What a waste of time. I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem, but both mobile titles are not for me. The microtransactions are atrocious.
What a nice way of telling me not to buy these games. I have a mate who gets these on PS Plus and we enjoy ourselves an evening and are done with it, pretty much.
