Re: Metroid Prime 4 & Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Sales Get Off To A Slow Start

@Polvasti Maybe the biggest mistake was naming it Metroid Prime 4, instead of just Metroid Prime - Beyond. At least, that's how I feel about it. A lot of people who haven't played any of the previous entries would be much less pressured into thinking that they need to play all entries that came before 4, at least... And the game is perfectly playable as a standalone. So it's just a weird choice.

To be honest, I'm really bummed out by the lack of performance of these games. They're more "up my alley" than most large releases and I am seriously rooting for both. I bought Metroid Prime 4 directly from Nintendo with all three Amiibos to boot. I will get Age of Imprisonment after I 100% TotK. By that time I can probably get the game for half off, which is good for me, but definitely not for the likelyhood of seeing more games in the Warriors series in the future...

@Jhena It's also gotta do with when taxes and year reports are done. At least here in the Netherlands. We need to do our taxes in March, so you always have the first quarter of the year to make sure all your numbers of the previous year are in order. The larger the company, the more complex and time consuming. So I guess that's also got to do with it.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment also seems to be absent?

I got Pokémon Legends Z-A as well and I have to admit that gameplay wise it is a lovely game. I got it 2nd hand, so it doesn't affect the sales numbers given here. But I don't think I will get the DLC, on account of it being a bit too expensive for my taste.

Re: Nintendo Reconfirms Release Windows For Major Upcoming Switch 2 Games

@Olliemar28 Thanks! I agree that we are still lacking a big hitter from one of the "big three" (Mario, Zelda en Pokémon). But my hopes are that we get at least one announcement during the Pokémon 30 year anniversary and hopefully somewhere around March for a brand new Mario game. A full fat Nintendo Direct would be nice too, sometime soon.

I see that this comment section also derailed on account of the GKC situation. I understand both sides of the discussion, but "Boss, I'm tired."

I wish these comment sections would be about our excitement for upcoming releases once again. Personally I think these months are jam packed with awesome games! I think Capcom is really one of the best in regards of releases, with Resident Evil Requiem and the releases of games that were released only as cloud versions before. And I am very excited about Monster Hunter Stories 3. The game looks phenomenal!

I am also excited about continuing Dragon Quest VII, after playing the demo, which convinced me that it's going to be a great starting point for me in the series.

Mario Tennis is also going to be in my collection at some point, but it can wait, with all the games this month I have more than enough on my plate already!

I'm quite surprised that Animal Crossing is having such a renaissance! I personally haven't really played it much again, since the update. I feel that what I am really looking forward to is a new entry in the series, but I suppose that is a couple of years off, still.

I'm not surprised FFVII remake is going down so hard. My second hand copy from Vinted arrived at my pick-up point, so I'll be enjoying the game somewhere this week. Eager to continue after the demo, which was quite awesome.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (31st January)

Pillowpants

Hello fellow Nintendo Lifers! We're having a slow weekend here, so plenty of time to play some games!

I finished Super Mario Galaxy 100% last week, which I'm quite proud of!

My current list of games I am playing is this:

  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Finished the main story, and continuing to finish to Main Story missions and all the rest.
  • Resident Evil 4 - I am still on Chapter 5-2, but didn't feel like playing, because I was hooked on Mario Galaxy
  • Tears of the Kingdom - still on 65% overall completion, but eager to continue my adventure
  • Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Chapter 12

I am also considering which game to add to the mix. Maybe something short and sweet, like Undertale, which has been in my backlog for ages.

Re: UK Retailer GAME Is Reportedly On The Verge Of Collapse Once Again

Same thing happened here in the Netherlands with a company called Game Mania. They always had bad deals and overall it was quite obvious that they wouldn't last long. Too bad, because there are plenty of game stores that run perfectly well. I guess it's just the way the stores are managed and the "profit first" mentality is strong with the CEOs of said companies.

Reading about the Activity Log hit me right in the feels... I miss that funciontality SO much! It is one of the biggest holes in my gamer's soul. I mean, sure, you can access activity through the Nintendo Switch Parental app and the Nintendo Store app, but there was something about the Activity Log that just tickled all my number nerd nerves in the right way.

I might look into these vinyls. I've been looking for an excuse to play some LPs anyway! And this would be a great addition, provided the songs are actually good. But I'll check them out later, once I'm home from work.

Re: Video: Get A Closer Look At LEGO's New Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Set In This First Review

This one is definitely on my radar, but I still need to get my hands on the 2-in-1 Deku Tree set, which I think is lovely. I don't really get the hate, other than pricing... LEGO is an expensive hobby, and one that's become even more expensive in recent years, but just like you can use Deku Deals for video game deals, there's plenty of LEGO pricing websites that can help you get sets at hefty discounts, like Brickwatch.
