Booted it up last night and already having a grand time! I totally missed out on this game back then! It's cool to finally play the game that Ike is from, having only known him mostly from his membership on the roster in Smash Bros.
This weekend we'll be staying home due to the snow in the Netherlands, so I'll have plenty of time to play some games! I'm currently playing these games:
Resident Evil 4: Normal - Chapter 3-2
Tears of the Kingdom: 65% overall completion
Pokémon Legends Z-A: just made it to rank C and progressing nicely
Dragon Quest 7 demo: about 3 hours in. I think I'm almost done, sadly...
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance: Chapter 4
Last week I finished Pikmin 1 and Metroid Dread. So my year started pretty well on the backlog clearing 💪
It's kind of emberassing when another company fixes your idea. These look so much better! I mean, how often will you actually see the insides of the original JoyCons when they're usually attached to your Switch 2, anyway?
I'm listening right now and it made me realise, is this the first ever orchestral music from any Fire Emblem game? I believe so. Anyway, it's a blast to have this on during work and I bet it will also help me during my fiction writing endeavours! The soundtrack sounds adventurous!
I think I'll wait until the entire roster is released. I don't see the point in buying a DLC only to have to wait an entire year to get everything you bought. I get this is different for people active in online play, but not for me.
I like them, but as more people point out, they could be way more colourful. I'll wait for a good themed Switch 2 and sell my day 1 edition to a friend for a nice price.
The Switch (2) is just a great JRPG platform. I'm all here for it! My only concern is the ambition to release 2 games a year. I hope this won't impact the overall quality too much. But as long as they have the capacity to do it, why not, I guess.
Thanks for the review! I hope to get into this series at some point. But seeing as I haven't even dipped my toes into the grand pool of Dragon Quest, I'll do that first. But it's great to know that this is at least a good game!
I have to admit, I'm more hyped for this game than I was for Mario Kart World. It looks like it will be jam packed with modes and the story-mode looks fun! Playing with JoyCon to swing might be cool too
Love the colours. This would be perfect for my significant other. I am personally more of a Pro Controller player. But I'd choose these over the standard ones!
Played about an hour of the demo yesterday. I like the art direction, but have only had a single battle so far. I'm keen to continue, but the intro is a bit long so far. I like it, but I need more battles to know if I really like it.
@charliecarrot Appreciate the effort to explain. I'm Dutch so English is my second language. And I'd hardly call it upset. But as I said before, it was unnecessary. And it looks like I wasnt the only one who didn't know the abbreviation either. So that speaks for my case. Peace out ✌️
Appreciate people taking the piss here, it is a good laugh. Just to clarify: I'm 44 and been around the internet a long time, but I honestly can say I never saw it until today.
At my work people abbreviate everything they can and it just annoys me to no end. Especially when it's really not needed.
@PJOReilly , hope you still enjoyed that morning coffee, despite my nagging.
This looks like a very interesting concept. But I wonder what the longevity of this controller will be. I am not particularly interested in this myself. I'm still hoping for a new split pad pro, or any replacement for the joycons that has a D-Pad. I sorely miss it in handheld mode.
Thanks for the mini review, but seriously. Can we stop with all the abbreviations. YMMV?! What the hell does that even mean? I had to look it up and it means: Your Mileage May Vary.
Since when did we start abbreviating that?! Come on, guys. This is a review, not a chat with friends.
@JohnnyMind I hope you'll enjoy it! There are many moments where you'll feel hunted in RE4 I wouldn't necessarily say the horror element is less in the game, but there's definitely more action!
@JohnnyMind The original? I bought RE4 for Switch too during the sale. It's a great starting point. I am really enjoying my fourth playthrough, so far! I've played the game twice in Wii, once on PS4 and now on Switch. The controls are a bit clunky, but once you get used to it, the game is just so great! I can't wait for RE4R to release on Switch 2, which we will also hopefully see at some point!
Haha, Edmund's reaction is a slice of fried gold. I watched a bit of the video. I just can't imagine being so into one game to speedrun stuff. But I love watching people do things in a game I can only hope to achieve.
Really looking forward to this one! I know the Switch 2 version will be less impressive than the above video, visually, but hey, it's a fricking handheld we're talking about!
Very excited for Final Fantasy VII after playing the demo. I'm not entirely sold on the fact that it's not turn-based anymore, but what I played was fun.
Caves of Qud is supposed to be right up my alley, as a Roguelike lover, but for some reason it just hasn't clicked for me, yet. Maybe I'll just have to watch a review or something.
Sounds good, but I'll get a digital copy at some point. I do always get a bit sad when I see that the game comes with a manual and stickers. As an 80s kid I remember full well the time when games had thick manuals, maps and sometimes stickers!
I am planning on getting this digitally. Or at a hefty discount second hand or something. But I will get this game one way or another. Luckily you can still buy it second hand, even if it is a game key card.
The plushy looks a bit cheap... But I'm happy for those who love it!
@Jhena Thank you! I love turn-based RPGs. Knowing it doesn't really matter helps a lot. I might get the original 2D-HD trilogy first, but I'll definitely try the demo. I think I'll love it.
@Bass_X0 You assumed wrong. Dragon Quest is basically the only big JRPG series I have never played... I think that's due mostly because it was released in Europe pretty late.
I am eager to find out what the real use of these bricks are. Sticking a computer in a brick only for it to make noises and produce light seems to be only the tip of the iceberg.
Is this a good entry point for me as someone who has yet to dive into Dragon Quest? I wanted to try the 2D-HD remakes of 1-3, but seeing as this is releasing pretty soon, too, and seems to be its own thing, I though this might be a good one, too?
Planning on getting the demo and trying for myself.
I have all the OG games and I remember well why the corner was missing!
@Kiz3000 If you look carefully you can see some of the linework is updated here and there. There is a side by side comparison on Reddit, if I recall correctly.
I'm still stuck on 62% on Tears of the Kingdom and I forebade myself to buy this game until I finish TotK with a 100% mark. But I am eager to get started!
I don't get the hate. I think he's just fine. I'd drink a pint with him and geek about tech. He basically covers for the other characters that guide Samus in various other games. I found some of the other characters more annoying. Especially in the Mines. God that writing was pretty awful, having some events happen three times in succession really made my eyes roll.

Hello fellow Nintendo Lifers!

Re: Level-5 Teases More Updates For Inazuma Eleven And Fantasy Life i, Coming Soon

They were quick with this one, too!
Re: Mini Review: Stardew Valley: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Almost The Cream Of The Crop
Maybe some day I'll play it. But I just don't have the time for a timesink game like this with all those JRPGs staring at me on my backlog.

So, themed balls is all we're getting this round? Had hoped for a bit more, but at least I can annoy my friends with a Yoshi themed one, then.
Re: Nintendo Music Adds A Fire Emblem Soundtrack In First Update Of 2026
I'll be putting this one on today, since I'm working at home! 😁 hoping we'll get some Xenoblade next!

Yes! This was one of the games I was waiting for! I never got around to playing this game back in the day. Very excited to try it, finally!
Re: Poll: Which Call Of Duty Do You Want To See On Switch 2?
I didn't buy a Switch 2 to play shooters. So, none.

Re: Rumour: Bethesda Is Reportedly Reviving Two More Fallout Games
That would be great! I have played so much of Fallout 4, that it's not interesting for me to triple dip. But I would buy remasters of 3 and New Vegas!

Re: Mini Review: Cast N Chill - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Come For The Fishing, Stay For The Fin-tastic Vibes
@dartmonkey No need to add more fuel to the fire, mate... It's really unneeded to abbreviate it and it's pretty much the first time I ever saw it.
