Reminds me of old Sierra/LucasArts adventures! Definitely gonna check out the eShop for this one. Looks really cool and I've been yearning for a good point-and-click adventure. Does it support mouse mode on Switch 2, though? That would be cool!

Turn-based tactical RPG sounds great! I had this one on my wishlist on Steam. Wasn't this one you can play co-op as well? If it's possible to play couch co-op I might get it on Switch 2 instead!

Don't mind the delay. This game looks so good, I think it's good for them to delay the game. I just hope it won't hurt their sales too much, seeing as they won't have the benefit of the holidays any more.

This game was one of the surprises in that Nintendo Direct a while back. I think it was the Indie one? I'm glad to see it score so high. This game's definitely on my wishlist and I might get it as soon as I finish some other games I'm currently playing. My backlog is swamped at the moment, so I am not allowing myself any new games until I finish at least three I am currently playing...

The Pokémon Company is up to their FOMO shenanigans again, I see. Well, for once, I won't bite. My days of being Pokémon games day 1 are over. Perhaps this time I'll wait for a bundle with all the DLC. I'm not in a hurry to get this game.

Yeah, Rare just isn't what it used to be. Wonder if he'll make the jump to Playtonic, or another good studio that fits him. Still glad to see he had a good time while working for Rare!

Might get it at some point, but I'm in no hurry. I'll wait and see if the DLC brings what should be in the main game, first. And I'll only get it if there's a hefty discount somewhere. Amazon usually goes low at some point. I'd say at least a 30% discount or more. Otherwise, I'll just skip it.

@RainbowGazelle I'm just really afraid that the DLC adds what is missing in the main game, but that they're just being greedy about it. Which sucks! Same thing already happened with Donkey Kong Bananza. And DLC for Pokémon games isn't new, or anything, but the fact that it's just the city in the base game is a real big letdown! Especially because I prefer running around in nature to capture Pokémon and not cities.

The way the battles are described this sounds like a game I could enjoy. But I'll wait and see if I can get a hefty discount with some patience.

It's not a competition for me. I won't be getting any Ubisoft games for my Switch 2. At the end of the month, I'm going to pre-order Metroid Prime 4 with bonus extras and all three amiibos directly from Nintendo. It's time to treat myself for a change Especially since I'm expecting a bonus from work soon!

I called it when I said this game would be a 7/10. For me, I think the restriction to it only being in Lumiose City sounds like it will start to get boring fast. I wonder if the DLC will change that, but the base game should be great and I fear that this game just doesn't have what it takes for me to dig in. I might get it on a discount, but there's plenty of other great games that deserve my attention and I'm glad to read that the view I had of this game is largely reflected in the review.

@Cyrax77 That's pretty much what I was saying. It's probably my own bubbles/echo chambers that make me feel like it's a much bigger issue than it is to the general public.

Personally, I don't really see the issue, because this is not anything new for Nintendo, or any other company in gaming.

Sounds good, I'll put it back on my wishlist! I remember removing it, due to the issues that the game had. But seeing as they seem to be largely addressed, I will reconsider getting the game now. It does look like it's straight up my alley!

Deplorable. I guess they haven't met the Nintendo legal team, yet. Hoping for swift retribution for this. Extortion is such a low form of criminality.

I'm still surprised Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 manages to stay this high in the list. Apparently a lot of people are getting it, despite all the backlash. I think this is probably due to the bubbles/echo chambers in which I find myself (Reddit being the loudest one and NintendoLife second), that these charts say something contrary to what I see a lot of people saying.

I sincerely hope that there will be a Switch 2 version of this game at some point. It would be a waste not to, right?

• Hades - Nearly strong enough to finish my first run, I think

• Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster - Just finished the first dungeon and visited the second village.

Happy for those living in France. It gives you some extra money for other important stuff, like baguettes and croissants!

This one is definitely going on my wishlist. I love dungeon crawlers and the concept of learning basic Japanese while doing it, is great!

Very curious what this will all lead to. I hope it'll be a new Doshin the Giant entry.

I'm actually glad that Mario Galaxy 1&2 are not topping the charts. As much as I love these games (and having bought the collection myself), newer games deserve top spots more than old "upscaled" classics in these charts.

I buy new, but never full price, unless it's a console Fire Emblem game, or Xenoblade Chronicles.

The video is so cute now with all the Pikmin in it! Can't wait for the official announcement of what it's all about. But more Pikmin is welcome!

@ShadLink Thanks for the reply. Look man, I hope the game will be better than what my current estimate is, based on what I've seen and know about it. I just don't trust the Pokémon Company any more after Scarlet/Violet and will definitely never buy their games day 1 any more.

I never said you wrote "if you don't like something, keep your mouth shut.", but you seemed to imply it. I think discussions about games are good, especially when there's people who are enthusiastic and people who are less so. I don't reply in an attempt to reduce anyone's enjoyment. I just want to have a good conversation and I think we had a good one.

Whenever I get the chance to voice anything to Nintendo through questionaires, I do so. Also sometimes through other means.

Hopefully they can fix the framerate. For me this would be the first game from Playtonic I'd ever play. I wanted to, but other games screamed for my attention harder.

@ShadLink There's a big difference between complaining and voicing concern, if you ask me. If something you love is changing into something you don't like you should be vocal about it. Of course it matters in what way you voice it, on that I think we can agree.

In the case op Pokémon Legends: Z-A, there's been a LOT of footage and in-depth videos to get a very good idea of how the actual gameplay will be. I've been gaming since I was 8 and I'm now 44, so I have a very good idea of what I like and don't like. Also, I'm quite aware of how game development works and how the final product is usually not what we see in preview footage (hence all the disclaimers.) But from what I've seen now PL:ZA is not a game I think I will enjoy, specifically because I don't think the mechanics are particularly well designed and voicing my opinion about that is important to me. It's what causes good discourse in communities like this.

What you're basically saying is that "if you don't like something, keep your mouth shut." Or something to that extent. Well, I will do anything for love, but I won't do that.

@ShadLink For me personally, the Pokémon formula is fine. I play it because I like turn-based battles. But if the battles are anything close to how they are in Xenoblade Chronicles, maybe then I'll get this game. I just don't care so much for what I've seen of the setting so far.

In other words; I know perfectly well what I want, but there are different people and different wants.

Worst case scenario, I'll just replay the classics with Retro Achievements.

Not too impressed by what's on offer, but then again, I'm not a massive fan of R-Type. Although it has to be said that I am kind of looking forward to this new entry. Hopefully it will be a good game!

There's not even a proper voice-over or anything. This definitely didn't seem like a commercial in the traditional sense of the word. I'm still on the fence about Pokémon Legends Z/A myself. I'll wait for reviews before I buy anything Pokémon related from now on, but I will say this: I think the game will be a 7/10 at most. I just can't see it being an excellent game. Dropping turn-based battles was not a good idea, in my opinion and the whole setting just seems kinda boring.

Whatever it actually is tied to (or not), it's generating a whole lot of engagement, so mission succes for Nintendo! I'll just leave the speculation to the kids and wait, while I play games from my backlog.

Love to see it! This game just keeps on giving and you get so much for what you pay. I still boot it up every now and then to keep unlocking a few achievements. But I doubt I'll be playing online much. To me the game is more of a couch co-op game with a couple of friends, or a solo game.

I once went to a games in concert in the Netherlands and it was so lovely. It also moved my heart in ways I had not known before. Before I knew it, I was crying from just how good it was to hear my favourite music played by an entire orchestra. They also did a Mario medley and it was the best thing I ever heard. Thanks for sharing this, it brought back some lovely memories.

Video game music is one of my special loves. I love the evolution of it from simple bleeps to full orchestral soundtracks that rival, or even surpassed movie OSTs. Music is a universal language and it really brings people together in the best way possible!

9/10 for me. While these games are undeniable excellent, the motion controls don't quite work as well as they did on the original hardware. Also; some camera issues.

@Porco funny you name Nvidia, since Nintendo are partners with them and the Switch 2 even uses AI technology! But yeah, it's going to be an uphill struggle. Perhaps they can join forces with other big names in the industry?

I'm (im)patiently waiting for Hori to give us a Split Pad Pro 2... I'll stick to official pro controllers otherwise, but the Split Pad Pro was one of my favourites of all time. I miss it on my Switch 2.

@Yoshi3 I love the art direction and world... To me it never grew dull and it's actually quite a timeless design. But more Toon Link adventures would be great!

Glad to see them take their time to do this and not release a game that will require "day one" patches, or whatnot. Looking forward to playing the full game after having checked the demo and confirming that it filled a Game Boy Color shaped hole I had in me.

Listening to it right now on my commute to work! There's so many bangers on this soundtrack! Glad they added it for both versions, too! Guess I'll have to replay TTYD soon now on Switch 2!

Interesting. I will watch the video later, but the fact that there are two models piqued my interest. I am eager to see how tech like this will affect games in a couple of years on Switch 2, when developers are more familiar with the hardware and capabilities of the system!

To be honest, I'm glad they kept the set relatively simple, because it also means the price point could be kept affordable. I mean, this set is a whole lot simpler than the NES set, but also more readily available to most people, due to the low costs. I can't wait to add mine to my collection and display it when I finally make some room in my extended book/game case.
