Tyrantrum for me. I just love my T-rex Pokémon so much. I let out an excited little scream when I found out he was part of the Z-A dex, too, haha. Such an awesome Pokémon, with a great type combo and I even managed to tromp quite some players online with it, due to the moves it can learn.
The more I hear about Pokopia and its development team, the more excited I get to play it. It genuinely sounds like a really good Pokémon spin-off and I can't wait to see the official reviews to confirm that it is in fact as good as the previews already stated it is.
So, it's sort of a split pad, but it's not... I really don't like this design at all. It tries to grab you by the nostalgia, but at the same time it completely changes the D-Pad to something hideous and changes the good ol' nipple C-stick to a regular thumbstick. No sir, I don't like it!
I am not comparing anything. I am just saying that the game is old and should run better on newer hardware, not worse. Pretty sound logic, right? But I guess nothing is logical when it comes to Bethesda, lol.
Truly embarassing that a game like this even has a quality and performance mode. It should be quality AND performance. But hey, that's just me thinking that this is a very old game by now.
The new update and Switch 2 edition upgrade pack have done very little to draw me back in. This patch won't do that, either. I guess I am just yearning for a new AC game. Or I should just get Fantasy Life i and get that itch for a cozy game scratched.
The fact that none of these can be played without a peripheral is bad. They could have easily done so. I don't know when I'll get the cardboard one. I think the VB shell is too expensive for my taste. And why the drip feed? 🙄
Yeah, I'll just wait until all games are available and then get the cardboard headset thingie. I am in no hurry to experience these games and I really don't understand why they need to drip feed games when you can only play them with a peripheral this time around. I am starting to dislike a lot of these practices, lately.
I'll refrain from giving it a score and voting for now, since I don't own it yet and probably won't for a while. My educated guess is that it will be a 7 for me, though. Seeing as I'm mostly a single player gamer.
Glad to see Dragon Quest VII still in the list! I will get it when I finish FFVII Remake, probably.
I wonder how well Mario Tennis Fever will hold up, seeing it come in second now is good, but I fear it might be a bit too niche compared to Mario Kart (or mainline games for that matter).
Pretty cool, but it's the same pose as the Amiibo. I had hoped for something more substantial. Anyway, I'm not in the market for these statues anyway. It looks pretty detailed, but the prices are what keeps me from getting these.
I am glad I am not often a day 1 buyer of many games, so that I can reap all the benefits of editions like this. I might just get this game some day. Ys seems like one of those series that's worth exploring after I exhausted other JRPG series.
I agree that the toy is cute, but you only get to hatch the egg once (which kinda makes sense) and after that it's kinda a bit like a talking doll, which is cute in its own right. But I can't help but feel that this toy is very wasteful. The shell is probably made of cheap plastic which will be discarded after the hatching. I really don't like the whole idea of how sustainable this toy is. There's already too much plastic in the world.
To be honest, I hope the sales will improve, but this game is old and by now anyone interested will have played it by now. There's very little incentive to double, or even triple dip if you have already played the game before. At least, that's my opinion on this game.
I liked Braid when it came out all those years ago, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me, sadly. Not enough to warrant another buy, at least.
Have to go with Ampharos, I love my electric giraffe! Plus Ampharos is so different from the rest of its evolution line, it was funny the first time and it's still funny now.
@Judal27 Digital only requires a download as well the 1st time you play and if you remove it, you have to download it again, as well. The only drawback is that you have to have the key card inserted, but that comes with the positive side of being able to sell it to someone else. So what exactly is your point?
@Judal27 a GKC at least can be sold. If it's purely a case of performance, then I can understand it. But people's reasoning leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to GKC releases.
I know it's easy to say the Monster Hunter Stories 2 suffered from frame drops too and it shouldn't give this game a freebie to do so as well, hopefully they can remedy some of this before the final release. But I am definitely going to get this game, because it does what Pokémon doesn't.
I loathe these kinds of games and refuse to buy any "live service" or "online only" games. Before too long your game will be gone forever, with no hope of ever being able to play it again. Usually these games aren't much good, either, or riddled with micro transcations, or both. Anyway, they are not made for enjoyment, but purely for revenue. Bad practices, if you ask me.
@Olliemar28 Indeed, it's bad for all parties involved, no matter how much I dislike Ubisoft these days. If it's your dream job to work in the video game industry and you are treated this way, it's just heartrending.
Rutschlé said that the Ubisoft staff are "already working under pressure, often understaffed," with no meaningful pay rises in "several years".
Reading this is painful and I recognize it, having stayed at my previous employer for 2 years longer than I should have. 2 years of seeing my purchasing power deteriorate. I'm glad I switched jobs. I wish these employees all the best!
The Pikachu is such a horrible model. The only one that's bang for your buck seems to be Eevee. The evolutions of the Kanto starters are so expensive it's not even funny.
@springer17 That's kind of my tactic. I just skip a few seasons and then gobble them all up in one go. It's not like I'm playing online competitively anyway (is anyone, really?)
@Nabbit01 I think Miyamoto is pushing the Pikmin newsitems. 😜
I love the Nintendo Today app, but at the same time I feel that this also causes people to miss a lot of news that would have been said in a Direct previously.
Been playing FFVII Remake and it's so good, once you get used to the new battle system. I'm excited to continue the journey after completing the first part!
Seems like some studios really manage to utilise the Switch 2 hardware well! Which makes me all the more excited about upcoming games from Nintendo itself, from the likes of Monolith et al.
Sounds good! I can't wait for the actual reviews for this game. I think I'll try and get my hands on it eventually and probably 2nd hand so I can get a good price. I have to say I'm more excited about the game now that I see so many good previews!
@BloodWolfe Your reasoning baffles me. You refuse to buy Game Key Cards, yet you will happily use Steam? Why is it that so many people are massively against GKC, but use platforms like Steam, who are digital only? It makes zero sense to me.

Greninja is a close second, though.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Gets Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade, Out Now
I am so glad I held off on starting this game. I will be picking this upgrade up as soon as I can after I finish TotK to 100%! Can't wait go dive in!
Now let's hope they'll give the rest of the series a Switch 2 edition as well!

Saw it in the Direct and marked it as a "Not interested" mentally. Running from dinos in a subway doesn't really appeal to me, that much.

Jigglypuff, even more so since it has a place in the roster of Smash Bros since Melee.
Re: Pokémon Pinball Machine Officially Revealed By Stern Pinball, Available Now
Love seeing these. I sometimes go to an arcade and this would really be a cool addition there!
A new Pokémon Pinball would be pretty cool, too on Switch 2!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (14th February)
Hello fellow Nintendo Lifers!
It's Valentine's Day so I am off to a bookstore date today with my significant other.
I finished Pokémon Legends Z-A this week and am currently playing these games:
I am also considering what other game to add to the mix. Probably Donkey Kong Bananza, as another JRPG would be a bit too much next to TotK and FFVII
Happy gaming everyone!
