@TryToBeHopeful Yeah, that's how we do it, too! But even if I was alone, I'd still think it's a really good deal, if you look at the price point per month, which is somewhere around €5,00. It's cheaper than any other online gaming sub. So I really don't get the hate. Especially with all the extras that are now part of the subscription.
They should put the new Monster Hunter on Switch 2 again, just so it can have a larger install base. And hopefully they'll come back to design flaws of Wilds. I never played it, but I follow the subreddit for Monster Hunter and I see so many complaints about the game. It's a big shame. I loved Rise and Sunbreak (which I'm still playing). But I wasn't so sure about Wilds.
Cool! I might just revisit this classic! I remember getting it as the launch title for GameCube back when it released here in Europe. I think it wasn't what people were hoping for, but man did I have a blast with this game. Especially the mirror mode, which was quite a challenge to complete, as I recall.
I'll be playing this one with my NSO GameCube controller
@iLikeUrAttitude I completely disagree with you. With the Expansion Pack the NSO subscription is the best value for money of any online gaming service. But hey, you do you.
Among the things that were said, all songs can also be prolonged and it takes time to find the looping spot as well, besides taking screenshots and everything else before they can be released on Nintendo music.
My biggest issue with the app is the lack of credit for the songwriters/composers, or a way to listen to their work. It would be awesome to have a Koji Kondo list, or something.
I also feel that Mario Kart World just hasn't made as huge of an impact as its predecessor did. I played it for a while, felt that the free roam was too lackluster, raced with some friends and then pretty much forgot about the game. I'm sure I'll boot it up when I bring my Switch 2 to friends, but other than that I don't really feel much need to boot it up for single play.
I just read the newsletter and came to see if you had posted anything about this. I'll be getting the bundle and controller! I said I would wait until there'd be a new awesome skin for one and this one seems perfect to me. Can't wait to dive into these three games in February! Admittedly a bit late for the horror season, but still, I'll be enjoying these game immensely!
That's a hefty price. Even as a VGM lover, I can't really justify getting this. I guess I'll just have to put an LP audio filter on Nintendo Music for similar effect.
Sounds interesting. Perhaps the caviat is that there's not much to pick up in the first place. But yeah, to me inventory management is a huge part of survival (horror) games.
Anyway, I'm glad Capcom steered away from the tank controls and fixed camera angles, and as such, I'm not sure this game is for me. I'll patiently wait for February to get my survival horror fix.
@Res462 I'll let you know, I'm planning on playing some TBOI on my Switch 2 later this week! I think it does run better docked, from what I can remember. But I'm a huge fan of this game, so I'll gladly take the new physical release! Especially since this contains the online multiplayer that's been out on Steam for quite a bit now.
I guess I'll have to quadruple dip. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is an 11/10 game for me and the undisputed King of Roguelikes. It's insanely replayable. The Switch version sometimes has a bit of trouble with framerate. I doubt the Switch 2 version will have any of that.
I dunno, it doesn't look like it'll shake the farmsim world. I think I'm a bit burnt out on them by now, unless they have a nice twist or something. I really enjoyed Harvestella, more than I thought I would. I'm not sold on this one after viewing the video, but I hope many fans will enjoy Shinichi Manabe's work on this new game of his!
The budget seems quite low for this one, too. I hope they'll manage to exceed the goal by far! 🤞
That's cool, but why do we still not have DK64 and Diddy Kong Racing on NSO?!
@rjejr I agree with you. Older Nintendo would have added it as part of the base game, or a free title update. It's very scummy of them to do this, especially when the DLC is so steeply priced.
Seems like there's a big gap between their wants and their actual performance. Good luck with all of that. I am not interested in any of the games they put out, really...
About what I expected, slightly under III. I still have to get that one first. I think I'll try and get a copy somewhere cheap. Maybe digital, maybe physical.
@The_Nintendo_Pedant I hear you, buddy. Especially with all the road maps and "live service" games, it's best to just play what is finally complete and keep trudging through the backlog like a true warrior! 💪💪
My wife is going to love this one, I think. She is not a gamer, but she enjoyed Animal Crossing and we have four cats, so I'm sure she'll love this little adventure! I might gift this to her ^_^
Yeah, Mario will probably outlive us all. I hope he will continue to bring joy to future generations of people. That's the most important thing about Mario, right? The important thing will be continuity within Nintendo itself. Will others after Miyamoto-san handle him with the same care as his creator? Only time will tell.
@1Kismet Koei Tecmo are the developers for this one. Nintendo is simply the publisher, so maybe that's one of the reasons it's not so compact. At the same time, games have been getting considerably larger over time, so it's only a matter of time before even Nintendo games become as huge as other games.
Yeah, one of the reasons I prefer physical, so it won't cost me a huge chunk of my 256Gb storage space... I'll be getting this game physical for sure. And really looking forward to the game!
@Browny That was one of my concerns too. 20 cards is way too limited to make a great variety of decks and so you will see that people will just build meta decks ad nauseam.
Love the art direction, but I am afraid it's not really a game for me. I'm not into cars or off-road driving that much. Still, it could be fun with friends and I hope it'll be a good game for those that play it!
I'm surprised to see it perform about as well as ToTK at launch! But definitely not shocked. It really seems that slapping the Pokémon name on a game means it will sell well. I think it's a bit of a shame, honestly.
@SpaceboyScreams You're right on the money with people being angry at people wanting better Pokémon games. I'm personally disillusioned about the series, ever since Scarlet/Violet came out and won't be buying the games day 1 anymore. Probably 2nd hand, cheap, so I won't add to sales numbers.
I'm really hoping they will do beter in the future. It's odd that in this day and age the #1 selling franchise in the world is bringing out such sub-par graphics and no voice acting, when there's so many good games that have it all, while TPC can easily afford bigger budgets for their games. Is it really that much to ask for an excellent game, instead of an okay-ish one?
Good for them! I hope the AI Bubble will burst sooner, rather than later. It's literally ruining the internet with a ton of garbage. The sooner we get rid of it, the better.
This might be the first Two Point game I'll get. I love sim games and haven't played one in ages. But I only will if they add mouse mode. Otherwise I'll get it on Steam.
@Striker21 You described my fondest wish for Pokémon game development, going forward. I just wish it would become a reality. We don't have to accept low effort games like the ones they have been putting out in recent years. There's literally no reason for them not to want to improve the quality and depth of their games. I just don't realistically see it happening.
"However, according to Chris Dring over at The Game Business, sales are roughly 28% lower than that of Pokémon Legends: Arceus across Europe. Going one step further, he states that Legends: Z-A is the smallest retail launch for the 'mainline' franchise since Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eevee! in 2018."
Good. I personally hope that this is because people are tired of half-baked releases from TPC. I am certainly keeping my hand on my wallet for this game. At least until there's either a package deal with the DLC, or I can find it substantially discounted.
There's a typo in the list "Super Maio Galaxy" should be Mario, of course
It's always nice to get some insights into the inner workings of game development. Last year I played the remaster of Metroid Prime and there's just no denying that it's such an excellent game that makes the transition from 2D to 3D in the best possible way. I love both Metroid types, but Metroid Prime was pretty much my introduction into the series and that's why I'll never forget the impact the first Prime game made on my fandom of the series.
Xbox has been dying for a long time now. PlayStation struggles with exclusives, in my opinion. I mean, there's not many of them that I am personally interested in, hence I don't have a PlayStation any more.
Nintendo's always been lord and master when it comes to good exclusives. They built a legacy that will continue well after we're all gone. The same can't exactly be said for Xbox... Which is a damn shame, but hey, the dug their own grave. Good for them.
I played for a couple of months initially, but got bored really quickly. Once they introduced trading and how it was implemented, I quit. For a watered down version of the TCG, it just felt like it wasn't going in the right direction for me.
Glad to see Z-A at the bottom of the list, to be honest. I think it shows how fatigued people are with the Pokémon games right now. The sales numbers also seem to reflect this, partially. Could it be that The Pokémon Company is finally going to see diminishing returns on their games if they keep going down this path of releasing undercooked games? I'm certainly done with buying their games Day 1.
This weekend we're staying at home, so I'll have some time to game, which is nice!
I finished Hades last week and won't be returning to it for a while. Main reason is that I think the gameplay gets a bit stale after so many runs, unlike The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, which I can play for the rest of my life if I wanted to only play one more game until the end of time.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster: Just got the crown and heading to the Crystal Eye (Step 5/17 of the guide I'm using)
Super Mario Galaxy: Finished the main story and collected 66/121 stars. Going for 100% completion!
Tears of the Kingdom: 34% overall completion
Pikmin 1: Hoping to finish The Forest Navel
The very fist Castlevania (NES) I just finished the first level. And thankful for the save states! Playing the Castlevania Collection on Switch 2.
As a huge Fallout fan, I'm not getting it. Played it before, got all the trophies for all the content. I'm happy for those who haven't played it though. It is a great game!
After this Direct I'm even more hyped than I already was. This game is everything I hoped Mario Kart World was going to be. Guess Kirby beat good 'ol Mario in that regard and then some!
@Max_the_German Sakurai-San could talk for hours and I'd still be interested in all he has to say. The Direct sure didn't feel like an hour to me, at least. But I'm a fan of the man, so I'm biased as heck.
I'll just wait for the full game to release. I'm excited! The game is so chockful of stuff to unlock and do. It feels a bit like this is how Mario Kart World should have been, which is both sad and good at the same time.
