I was genuinely preparing for Miyamoto to announce a Nintendo Direct DVD box set.

That was good but I went in with pretty low expectations, Rhythm Heaven and Tomodachi Life are perfect late-Switch titles, I'm very excited for those two!

I think there's more to this app than just news, wasn't there like 'Pascal's Tales' or something cute like that.
I think it'll just be a quirky little hub to visit every now and again.

I know we go through this song and dance every time a new Mario Party releases but I really hope we get even just 10 DLC minigames for the main party mode.

It's so close to perfection and in many ways it already is but this would just be the icing on the cake!

I think May 15th is the absolute earliest it could release, but not out of the question.
Early June still feels right to me though.

For me it boils down to whether there will be another 'graphical showcase' game from Nintendo around launch.

I'm leaning into the 'cross-gen' camp, but if they whip out a Zelda OOT/MM full-on-all-guns-blazing remake during the Switch 2 Direct (before showing MP4 obviously) then I'll be a little more skeptical.

I think red fits Nintendo perfectly, I try not to compare them too much with Sony and Microsoft but when you see the three colours and their logos lined up, it is quite satisfying. Not to mention how it's their mascot's signature colour!
I can see why they went down the grey/white look in the 2000s when you think about the original iPods but even that lasted well into the next decade.
Incorporating red, in some way or another, just makes too much sense in my eyes.

The thought of more Mario Kart soundtracks being added went straight over my head for some reason...just goes to show how good MK8's is!
I'd love to see Mario Kart Wii next although I can imagine them leaning towards 64 with it being on NSO and all.

@Markatron84 I think some people underestimate the sheer number of parents who will pick up this up as a "fun looking 'mario' game for my son/daughter's switch" and not give a monkeys (pun intended) whether it's a good port or if Retro Studios were credited or not

After this week's bombshell, I've decided to go for some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well as some DKC Returns (Wii) and Final Fantasy X!

I know I'll come round to it once I've seen him in motion a bit more
