It all went downhill for him when he got desperate last week and said a 2D Zelda remake could appear in the direct, having not been able to access Nintendo's website backend as per usual. Even though he made it clear it wasn't his usual source and whatever, I think he knew his days were numbered and leaking his own source was just the cherry on top.
Having said that the earlier days of Pyoro were quite exciting with his cryptic clues but I think by this point, a lot of us were ready to move on and not have our precious directs spoilt.
@Jiggies Same! Never played either one before but after trying them both out, I can see why people love them and I found that Spyro is actually quite a nice palette cleanser for the (sometimes) ruthless Crash Bandicoot stages! And yeah it was something like £23 for the both of them which was an absolute steal!
Looks like Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars smooshed together and I'm all here for it!
@HotGoomba I've checked the website and you can still play the game with a Pro Controller.
My guess is the mini-games which use motion/gyro will just be avoided when you're not using a Joy-con?
@Banks I mean I certainly enjoyed it.... and I'm pretty sure the others did too although you wouldn't have been able to tell in the heat of the moment XD
On paper we played through them in the quickest way possible (200cc, 2x 48 races with the 'in order' setting on so there was no fumbling around in menus in between races) but it still came to about 5 hours.
Though I suppose we did have a "pizza pit-stop" halfway through haha!
I wouldn't say it dragged, 200cc probably helped with that. I'm a 150 guy myself and having it ramped up a gear made it quite intense with some of the shorter tracks feeling like they'd finished before they had even begun!
And yes, we also had our own CPU rival.....I don't think I'll ever live down the shame of losing to Donkey Kong at the end of the DLC leg!🫣
Super Mario Land is an odd omission. Perhaps even with its early-portable gaming charm, Nintendo just sees absolutely no value in it.
There's nothing tricky about it technically or licensing-wise so really there's nothing stopping it from being on there except from Nintendo actually wanting to promote it!
Not even the tournement part, I would just love to hear these compositions performed live!! One of the best Nintendo soundtracks in my eyes (or ears XD)
Once upon a time, I could name all the Skylanders and even their catchphrases! Also, a lot of the GAME stores I've been to keep their plushes quite close to the checkout so I like to think the first thing that guy threw was a Luigi plush. In all seriousness though, I'm glad he was dealt with properly Thank you for sharing these stories with us!
I visited Universal Florida in 2018 and it was a wonderful place, I enjoyed it a lot more than Disney World that's for sure although that might have come down to the temperature and volume of people on the days I went😂
So I've been holding out to hear information on this iteration of SNW and how it would incorporate into a park I was familiar with and this new 'Epic Universe' land looks very cool and ambitious. I think it will be quite a while before I have the opportunity to go again but hopefully by that time, SNW may have fleshed beyond what already seen, who knows!
Oh that's a nice surprise!
I also don't think this 'disconfirms' a direct necessarily but yeah this and the Peach trailer do feel like prime direct-annoucements to me
Through pretty much the whole of lockdown, I used Smash Ultimate's music player to host a game show where people had to guess the franchise the song was from. If they got it right, they then had the option to risk their point for 5 points by guessing either the name of the track or the specific game it comes from!
So I have a lot of affection for the music player but if I had to pick something from an older game, it might have to be Smash Run from 3DS.
Tried a bit of Golden Sun earlier and I think I'll stick with it for now. (This is doing nothing for my backlog😂)
On the flip side, I am close to completing Spider Man PS4!
@teksetter I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you find solace in the people and games you love when you have the time❤️

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd June)
I'll be playing Poochy and Yoshi's Wooly World of all things and also some Final Fantasy X this weekend!
Re: Nintendo Showcases All June 2024 Direct Games With Colourful New Graphic
A great Direct!
Super Mario Party Jamboree is the one I'm probably most hyped for but Dragon Quest III and Mario & Luigi also looked really nice!

Looking forward to diving into them more

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Gets Four New Additions Today, Including Zelda, Metroid, And Perfect Dark
Seeing the word MATURE underneath the N64 controller made me laugh pretty hard for some reason!
Pretty good selection although hopefully we get DK64 and Smash Bros in the near future🤞
Re: Geoff Keighley Would Love Nintendo To "Be A Big Part" Of Summer Game Fest
Yeah they have no reason to get involved in Summer Game Fest when their Direct presentations are better in every way for them.
Whenever I take a peek into a Summer Game Fest livestream it just reminds me how well paced Directs are in comparison!

Re: Feature: Death By A Thousand Karts - Can We Race ALL 96 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tracks In A Single Session?
I did this in December with a few mates and can confirm the conversation can derail into uncharted territories
Brilliant read, the driving like "genuine befuddled tourists" made me chuckle!
Re: New Paper Mario Survey Reportedly Suggests Unique Character Designs Could Make A Return
I got this survey myself yesterday and rest assured I hammered home the joy of having unique characters!
I also tried to praise the edgier writing/humour and the actually enjoyable battle system

A good dollop of Pikmin 4!
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Princess Peach: Showtime!
Sort of expected this region of scores, still very good though!

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Personal Favourite Super Mario Game?
Super Mario Odyssey for me!
Really takes me back to the early Switch days and falling in love with Nintendo once again. Incredible!
Re: Poll: Do You Want To See 'Super Mario Bros. Wonder 2'?
I think the general concept of Wonder has a lot more staying power than the NSMB series was ever going to have.
I would absolutely love a sequel to Wonder, if they have enough unique ideas to warrant it of course!
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy & GBC Library With Three More Mario Titles
Super Mario Land is an odd omission. Perhaps even with its early-portable gaming charm, Nintendo just sees absolutely no value in it.

Re: Feature: Is Any Mario Game Genuinely 'Underrated'? - 10 Super Mario Games To Reconsider
Mario Golf World Tour on 3DS would be my pick!
One of the finest modern Mario sports outings in recent years I think

Re: Splatoon 3 Rocks Out In Upcoming Instrument-Themed Splatfest

Re: Random: Paul McCartney Loved Koji Kondo's Work So Much, He Invited Him Backstage
The looong and winding Toad
That leads, to your hi-score

I've seen that castle before!

Donkey Kong Country Returns and Overwatch 2

It was definetly a Partner Showcase of games releasing in the first half of 2024
Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Tournaments With A Live Jazz Band Is A Thing
God I'd love to experience this.
Not even the tournement part, I would just love to hear these compositions performed live!!
One of the best Nintendo soundtracks in my eyes (or ears XD)
Re: UK Charts: Mario vs. Donkey Kong Swings Past The Competition In Its Debut Week
Wow I certainly didn't expect to see that, but good for it!
Re: Back Page: The Best Cows On The Nintendo Switch
I cannot physically look at the Moo Moo Meadows cows without the stupidest grin on my face
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 17th)

I read that as the "exciting skyway"... which to be fair, isn't wrong😂
Re: Switch Sales Pass 139 Million, Will Be "Main Business" Heading Into 2024, Says Nintendo President
That's quite promising actually seeing how they usually just flat out say "we're not releasing new hardware this FY"
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 3rd)
Hogwarts Legacy and WarioWare Move It for me. Happy gaming all!
Re: Soapbox: Tricks Of The Trade-In - Chronicles Of An Ex-GAME Employee

Lorax Toad is pure fever dream material
Re: Talking Point: Which Feature From Each Smash Bros. Game Should Make A Return?
Through pretty much the whole of lockdown, I used Smash Ultimate's music player to host a game show where people had to guess the franchise the song was from. If they got it right, they then had the option to risk their point for 5 points by guessing either the name of the track or the specific game it comes from!
