The related article title: "Review Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition (Switch) - An Unforgivably Sloppy Port Of A Genre Classic". Have not played the Switch port of the first game but that doesn't say anything positive about the upcoming second game!
Yeah I see another review of the first game on Switch calling it a "tragically compromised port". Those reviews, and a MetaCritic score in the "50s", successfully scared me off at the time and I got it on GOG instead.
As others said Neverwinter Nights 2 on Switch will be ported by a different company, Aspyr, who have a mixed history, but at least it's not the same company as before.
A "PS4 in my hands" is fine by me. That's all I dreamed up for Switch 2.
Just give me 1080p docked with smooth performance and I really don't care about anything else. When they show the "side-by-side" comparisons for different new systems, I can never tell the difference.
After analyzing the past winners at "The Game Awards", its current MetaCritic score indicates it won't be a true "Game of the Year" contender (though it could be a nominee).
I'm a bit surprised, given the huge anticipation of it.
I used to, periodically, google around Reddit and other sites, in vain hope that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night would be "fixed" with new patches on Switch.
I hope that poor ports of that game and others (that are great games on other platforms) will get Switch 2 improvement updates. Developers, we still want those games!!!
Xbox releasing a handheld console that doesn't play Xbox console games. Nah, I can't imagine that confusing consumers at all. But they can clear it up with a simple ad campaign:
@Axecon This exactly. With S2's power some decent racing games should be on the horizon, and analog triggers make a lot of difference. Guess I'll stick with 8bitdo.
on the horizon.........the Forza Horizon perhaps?
The Xbox games are coming. Honestly...how the heck is that going to work? You can't play precision driving games without analog triggers.
This was one of my most wished-for Switch 2 features, for the racing games.
Even the old regular-priced Arcade Archives and Neo Geo games feel a bit much at regular price. In the NL forums, myself and others share alerts when Hamster has sales. Unfortunately they happen only a handful of times a year, and usually only 10 or 20 games at a time, with some games going years without going on sale. So I advise people to snatch any that interest you up when they do.
Arcade Archives games usually go on sale for 30% off, so that would make the $16.99 USD Ridge Racer maybe $11.89 USD.
If you wouldn't buy it at that price either, then the Arcade Archives 2 range isn't for you.
I stood in line at GameStop tonight for 4½ hours.
I consider myself lucky though, because I was early enough to be in the part of the line under a roof, as it was pouring rain.
I got the Mario Kart World bundle and the Samsung 256GB microSD Express card.
Can't wait for all the launch day game reviews to pour in so I can gobble them up! The number that I am interested in frightens me.
Oh yeah, I joked in line that I brought 2 credit cards...just in case. As it turned out, my first one was declined (I had looots of room on it, but I assume the charge was too high or something). Luckily, the 2nd card worked or I would have been panicked!
Yeah, IGN makes it sound like the "open world" is underwhelming. That there is very little to do out there if you're not racing. Not quite "nothing" to do, but not as much as you might have been fantasizing.
IGN previewers speculated there would be many hidden challenges and secrets and treasures all over for you to find...but that doesn't sound like it's the case in the end.
They said the open world is a "side dish" compared to the "main course" of actual racing, particularly the new hyper-competitive knockout mode. And the racing bit is awesome. It's just not "Forza Mario".
I'm not interested in video online chatting so I'm not inclined to buy the camera. Everyone standing up and hitting blocks above their head? Doesn't look like something any of us would want to try twice.
I just want the Neo Geo football games to return to the store. Only the first Super Sidekicks is available for some reason.
The Internet says it is because they had "Hong Kong" teams. And China threw its weight around, so rather than editing HK out, they just removed them from the market.
I too would like to buy Super Sidekicks 3 or Neo Geo Cup '98 which are regarded as the best of them.
I highly doubt those games will be released outside of Japan as physical releases. I'm a bit surprised they'll be in Japan.
Nintendo, please give us proper new entries in some of your more neglected IP’s:
Punch Out
That was my first thought as well.
I think it would be best if there were 2 lists to vote on. One for "active franchises" and one for "dormant franchises" (with no new games on Switch 1).
As of now, it's kind of like asking: "Would you rather have a new Zelda or..."
Realistically, it's hard to beat the anticipation of a new Zelda.
I'm a simple man. I don't need it day one. I would happily wait 'til July or something. I would just like to know I won't be watching all those news reports of empty shelves, etc. I just want to be at peace.
That expensive new type of micro sd card is going to fill up fast eh?
That's why I'm getting a Switch 2 without the Kart bundle, and paying more for the physical. It's a game I would never want to archive, and seeing it permanently take up all that space would tick me off...
We bought an LG flatscreen. Within a couple of weeks, there was like a big glowing moon in the corner of the screen. A few days later it died for good.
We bought an LG refrigerator. It died within a week or 2. Called LG Canada. They said we needed to pay for a $300 service plan. Desperate to have a working refrigerator we paid up.
They gave us the phone #of a repair technician. We called him. He said he was "too busy fixing furnaces".
We called LG back. They couldn't help us. We ended up calling the store and getting it solved through them. Got a new fridge replacement (not LG).
We called LG back to get our repair plan money refunded. They said that it was "in process" and we would "get it back soon".
We called back, e-mailed back, week after week. Same type of responses.
Finally we e-mailed them: "You will be contacted by our lawyer".
The money was refunded the next morning.
They were going to wait us out, hoping that we forgot about it, to pocket the profit and rip us off.

There's a handful of '80s/early '90s wrestlers at least.
I don't know any of the current ones, except from when they appear on talk shows.
They should let Hamster re-issue the '90s WWF arcade games in Arcade Archives.

Just like Mortal Kombat or the Neo Geo games et.al. were:

Lemmings would be great on Switch 2 with mouse controls.
I've googled around for it a bunch of times, but it's not for sale on any platform. Weird, 'cause it had so much broad appeal.

I've been saying it and I'll say it again: if you're going to update/reimagine an old game...include the untouched old game in the package!
Then, even if the newer/changed version of the game is not well-received, people (like me) will still buy it to have the original.
It seems so obvious, and I'm glad it is happening here.
