Well... I'm mad I already have Rainbow Islands. Almost got Rastan, glad I waited. I may go ahead and double dip for what I see on offer. I feel like it's better than the previous collections, at least to me.

I already had Champion Wrestler. Oh well, not too much trouble for me.

Just deleted from my wishlist:

  • Rainbow Islands
  • Rastan Saga
  • Cadash
  • Growl

Definitely:

  • Braid: Anniversary Edition
  • Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Maybe:

  • Paper Trail
  • Please Fix The Road

I saw Indie Game: The Movie 12 years ago, and now with Braid's release, finally all 3 games featured are on Switch (along with Super Meat Boy and Fez).

Granted, some of those--like Ice Climbers--don't exactly hold up well.

Ice Climbers is awful in a: "I never want to play this again" sort of way.

So, bite-sized speedrunner challenges for classic NES games. That's cool. But what I REALLY wanted to see were trophy accomplishments NSO-wide.

For example:
1.) Beat Super Mario Bros.
2.) Beat Super Mario Bros. without warping or using the infinite lives trick.

Stuff like that would be fun as hell!

A while ago I googled for lists of the best Sega Genesis games. I looked for long lists each at least 50 games long, that were ranked. I assigned points based on rank and added them all up. I was left with 16 lists, 396 unique games and 1,465 total entries.

Rocket Knight Adventures ended up the #14 best Genesis game.

IGN ranked Sparkster the #87 best SNES game.

Pulp fiction. Seriously everyone over 18 who has not seen this film should stop what they are doing and watch this eternal masterpiece, and spend the rest of there lives thinking about it xxxx

A friend of mine has never seen a Tarantino movie saying:

"i've never been much into 'artsy movies'."

He went on:

"EVENTUALLY I will watch Pulp Fiction because it's a movie that I have on my shelf to watch just to say "i did watch it", even if it's not my cup of tea."

He owns it. Hasn't seen it. It's maddening.

Arcade Archives NUMAN ATHLETICS - it's like a 4-player version of Track and Field!

Cyber Citizen Shockman 3 - I've got the other 2 already, and this is a former Japan exclusive, which I collect obsessively.

And maybe the Pac-Man one if it reviews well.

Re: Soapbox: During A Mental Health Crisis, It Wasn't Cosy Games That Helped

There are tons of racing games not on Switch, because of the lack of analog triggers, needed for proper nuanced accelerating and braking. On Switch, driving a car is like alternating between slamming the pedal to the floor and then slamming the breaks. Back and forth.

Some of them are on Switch, but every review says "best on other platforms...because...analog triggers".

If I were to have a "Switch 2" wishlist, it would be for:
1.) Backwards compatibility
2.) More power
3.) Analog triggers

Yeah same here. To me it was a blurry, pea soup green screen that can only be played under direct lamp light.

I thought of all handhelds as inferior to what I could play on tv, so outside of recess or bus/car rides, it didn't seem worth it to me.

But I mean to try out some of the high ranking ones here, in a non-blurry condition, to have a peek at what I missed out on.

BZZZT is the only game in the direct that we already know is quality (it launched on PC in November).

It's got a MetaCritic "91".

An old-school, intense, precision platformer. It's short and can be beaten in only a couple hours. But you can ramp up the difficulty and go for flawless level runs to extend the fun.

It goes for $12 USD on Steam, and is on sale now for $7 and change.

I have about 800 games on the switch. I don’t know what happened.

My motto is: a game bought today is one less you have to buy tomorrow!

I hope you use DekuDeals.com and wait for sales. Everything goes on sale, usually pretty quickly (except for 1st party Nintendo games and Hamster's Arcade Archives/NeoGeo games).

It not only alerts you when games on your wishlist go on sale digitally on the eshop, but also when major retailers discount them physically.

And you can catalogue your collection, etc.etc.

It's a real godsend.

I was going to say "only Pepper Grinder definitely this week", but then I saw your post!

HEBEREKE Enjoy Edition Ohhh that's the first Ufouria game for NES, that was never released in North America! Yes, definitely getting that now as it is minorly discounted. Thank you for alerting me to this!

Arcade Archives SURPRISE ATTACK Yeah, this one looks just okay. I even vaguely might remember it from back in the day? Not sure.

EGGCONSOLE Xak PC-8801mkIISR Just making it clear that the EGGCONSOLE games are all in FULL JAPANESE!!?! (with bare-minimum English menus) This is an action-adventure, so I'm not sure how much text there is, but I'm sticking to their action games for the time being. Maybe it would make a good article or something: "These are the EGGCONSOLE games that we recommend as a.) being good and b.) not too impacted by language.

Not enough sites saying "this game is a [INSERT SCORE HERE], as is, full stop."

Yeah, it's a tough thing for educated adult critics to analyze children's entertainment. Movie critics regularly give lots of animated films high scores. I doubt these adults are actually enjoying them. I think they are trying to imagine if children would like them?

It's weird.
