Re: Here's Your First Look At River City Girls 2's Double Dragon DLC

MasterGraveheart

"Go beat up the world, bro!"

Still love that line from Jimmy from the first game. ^^;

Love the River City Girls games! Marian's still my favorite character from RCG2, and that probably won't change here, but... hoo boy, it's gonna be fun seeing her "catch up" with the two nerds who took so long to rescue her that she decided to start rescuing herself. XD

Re: Capcom Says It's Always Considering What's Next For Mega Man

MasterGraveheart

You sit on a throne of lies, Capcom. No Mega Man 12 news, no Mega Man X9 news, Legends 3 cancelled, Bad Box Art Mega Man included as a joke that nobody wanted to endure, World cancelled, Mega Man forced to play second fiddle to Street Fighter during his anniversary, Mega Man Fully Charged was... a thing... Capcom likes the iconography and nothing more. They'd rather spend more time on Monster Hunter and Resident Evil.

Re: Rumour: Reliable Insider Says Kingdom Hearts 4 'Might' Come To Switch 2

MasterGraveheart

Well, we know Square Enix wasn't happy with the sales on Sony exclusively, so, I'll buy that the older games could come to Switch 2. But it HAS to be natively.

And while we're at it, bring over the FF7R trilogy after the exclusivity window ends.

And an HD-2D remake of Chrono Trigger.

And Final Fantasy XIV.

And the actual Final Fantasy XV.

And... okay, sorry, I'm getting wish listy here. >.>'

Re: Picross S Is Back With The 'Namco Legendary Edition' Later This Month

MasterGraveheart

So, I'm probably gonna get it anyway since I'm a big Picross nut, but looking at that list, it shows me just how... thin... the Namco Bandai library is when you strip away the licensed IPs like Gundam, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. Which is a shame for a company boasting Pac-Man, Tales of, and Galaga (look, I like Galaga, okay?). I'm happy they found something they're good at, leveraging popular anime into at least decent games, but... I dunno. For a company so ubiquitous with the games industry, there's so little that's their own, it feels like.

Re: Sakurai On Smash Ultimate Win Rates: "Any Fighter Has A Shot At Winning"

MasterGraveheart

That's the ultimate goal of any fighting game. Some can have some superiority over others, but if that gap isn't insurmountable for a lower fighter, then that's the sign of good balance.

If Little Mac can conceivably beat Sonic or Steve, then the balance is achieved. Even if one does win far less.

EDIT: ALSO! Tifa, Shantae, and Shovel Knight for the next Smash!

Re: What Is EGGCONSOLE? - Full Game List, PC-88, MSX2 On Nintendo Switch, Best Games To Start

MasterGraveheart

@BoilerBroJoe This was basically my sentiment. I snagged the Xanadu one and found out that... not only couldn't I read most of it... IT DEFINITELY PLAYS LIKE AN OLD TIMEY COMPUTER GAME! ^^;

Something like this is good, though, for the sake of preservation. But, I don't see myself really investing money on the titles I'm mostly interested in, namely, the text-heavy ones.

Re: Random: Here's What's Inside A Switch Cart

MasterGraveheart

@Sisilly_G Still gonna need way bigger ones, I think. If the rumors on the Switch 2 are even close to true, and the games are gonna be approaching PS5 levels of size, and those games are hovering around 80GB each, Nintendo can't skimp on the standard card size, even if they have to eat those costs themselves with their licensing partners. A size of 128GB should be the standard going forward for card size, with bigger ones available as needed, with Nintendo offering to eat the cost of issuing the cards to use if they need to go bigger.

Team "As Long As Shiver Loses One For A Change, Not That I Dislike Her, But The Record Is Ridiculous, Justice For Frye And Big Man, Great Characters Who Need To Get Their Due Too, I Know This Is A Long-Winded Team Name, But The Wins Need To Be Spread Out, Okay, I'll Stop Artificially Extending This Team Name Starting Now, Still Love You Shiver, Okay, Now I'll Stop."

Re: Soapbox: Kieran’s Hatred Of You In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's DLC Almost Makes It Good

MasterGraveheart

***WARNING! SPOILERS! WARNING!***

That's okay, I hate Kieran too.

Okay, okay, okay, I turned it into a meme, but... I don't like Kieran. His villain arc centers around him being jealous that my character got what he didn't get, and... as someone who has issues with self-image, a character like his is NOT what I need in my life. I escape into video games to step into the shoes of something else and just enjoy a fantasy for a little while. Kieran's hatred of my character, my avatar, rubbed me the wrong way. If he was just supposed to be a straight-up villain and simply get defeated, fine, but the fact he was supposed to have some kind of redemption arc, without really doing anything to make it right, just cheesed me off.

The way he treats his sister, the way he treats the school, the way he treats the Elite Four members, all because of what my character allegedly did when it was ultimately Ogerpon who rejected him in favor of my avatar? Yeah... I'm taking that personally! I didn't ask for any of that, I didn't ask him to go through that, heck, I didn't get any choice in the matter at all thanks to the game's inconsequential dialogue choices! So no, Kieran, you can take your self-righteous grudge and bury it in the deepest depths of Area Zero! I don't forgive you, I don't like you, and if you show your face to me again, I'm stomping you flat like I did across the entire DLC!

And I'll do it with the Ogerpon I named after your sister that you hate so much to boot! Like I did twice!

The grudge, the self-entitlement, his treatment of others... no, Kieran, we can't be friends.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

MasterGraveheart

Professor Layton - Lower scores if you fail a puzzle. Resetting isn't fun if you wanna try and get completion with max score!

Resident Evil 4 - The quicktime events. They single-handedly ruined this game for me and made me no longer take the franchise seriously, especially lists that have this game as the best in the series. It's not.

Tales of Symphonia - New Game Plus mode. The concept is good, but the New Game Plus feels incomplete, and the GRADE shop feels like unnecessary needs to grind. Minor, and nowhere near as outgregeous as other games.

Limited Time DLCs - I hate DLC as a principle, so hiding things behind it is a huge red flag for me. See Professor Layton and the bonus puzzles, or limited time download events... it only aggrovates that FOMO nerve.

Loot Boxes and Battle Passes - There was a reason I was considering dropping Overwatch and Fortnite respectively before Activision/Blizzard and Epic got into their nonsense. That just pushed it over the edge. I now actively avoid games that have these things in them, even games I would otherwise love, like Rocket League and Fall Guys. Among Us does it so much better with the cubes where you can still basically get everything with no-pay currencies, but I'm still not a huge fan of in-game shops in general that use real money.

Live Service games - I'm a reclusive goblin who doesn't want to interact with people for the entirety of my life with a game. Let me play alone! I only do Among Us because I have a close-knit group of friends I play it with when we all can, and it's a blast... but I still wish I had more to do single-player.

Knockback - Most notable with retro games, but knockback is a real drag... usually into bottomless pits. ^^;

Silent protagonists - They're supposed to be projections of us... it's just a shame that they don't project anything at all.
