Re: Sony May Be Plotting A New PSP To Compete With Nintendo's 'Switch 2'

MasterGraveheart

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Between Switch and Steam Deck, console power in a portable form is probably more of the long-term future and, as a Nintendo die-hard, I'm kinda proud that Nintendo really started that trend. I know, I see you PSP/PS Vita. You were great... but you were handhelds first and foremost. Switch, Steam Deck, that's console power and it's equivalent to consoles at the time. There's no question about that. I think Sony getting back into the portable game, and Microsoft doing something similar (Xbox Go, anyone?) is kinda inevitable at this point. Especially if the Switch successor does even half as good as the Switch classic.

Re: Dragon Quest's Creator Criticises 'Mistranslation' Of DQ3 Remake Costume Comments

MasterGraveheart

I’m bummed out about the alterations, but I freely admit that a part of it is due to wanting something more akin to the more revealing original. Sure, I do also believe in staying true to the original intended designs, and that the west, the US especially, is very prudish when it comes to sexuality, but I’m also not going to downplay that I do like the scantly-clad original. It doesn’t help that the shirt and pants they added are basically flesh-toned. If they needed to add, maybe they shoulda used chainmail and not just pretend with the flesh-colored shirt?

It would be nice if things in games like this changed depending on the player’s age, but that might be more trouble than it’s worth for a bit of pixel titillation.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's SNES Library With Four More Titles

MasterGraveheart

Battletoads & Double Dragon is a good one, though I ACTUALLY prefer the NES version, just because it's what I grew up with. Hopefully that one'll come soon.

Kunio-Kun games are usually good adds, but the other two feel very random.

I still remain in the camp that Nintendo just needs to dump their available catalogue (meaning the games with the licensing rights and the like) on NSO, and maybe work with third party partners of yore to get their games on there. God knows I'm STILL waiting to see the return of the Road Rash trilogy from Sega Genesis. Especially Road Rash II!

Also Mischief Makers for N64.

And Banjo-Tooie. It was announced with N64 NSO up front! It's LONG overdue!

Re: Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection For Switch Confirmed As "Code In Box" Release (Europe)

MasterGraveheart

I genuinely wanna know what the point of a "code in a box" is. If you wanna sell to people who want something for their shelves, let them order it separate and not charge full price. If they're buying for the game, they might as well just buy off the eShop itself.

Or are publishers afraid people won't be able to FIND their games because Nintendo has done such a poor job of maintaining their storefront with all the AI art-flip games or the thousand versions of AAA Clock they've allowed on there?

Re: The Legend Of Zelda '80s Cartoon Series Gets DVD Re-Release

MasterGraveheart

This was good just for a pro-active, action-oriented Princess Zelda who wasn't afraid to get involved and jump into the action. Actually my favorite Zelda until the Tears of the Kingdom incarnation. Sure, she still got captured on occasion, as was the plight of boy-focused 80s cartoon shows, but this was still way better than a lot of what we'd gotten at the time.

Re: Talking Point: Would $499 Be Too Much For 'Switch 2'?

MasterGraveheart

$400 is the price I'm thinking it'll be, $350 would be ideal, $300 would be a pie in the sky for me. $500... let's face it, I'll buy it, but I'll be actually unhappy with that price point. Unless it's a huge, PS5-surpassing, power upgrade or something, WITH the portability AND backwards compatibility out of the box. THEN the $500 price point would sting less.

Also, bundle it with a Super Metroid Armorless Samus Statuette.

Just because.

Re: Here's Your First Look At River City Girls 2's Double Dragon DLC

MasterGraveheart

"Go beat up the world, bro!"

Still love that line from Jimmy from the first game. ^^;

Love the River City Girls games! Marian's still my favorite character from RCG2, and that probably won't change here, but... hoo boy, it's gonna be fun seeing her "catch up" with the two nerds who took so long to rescue her that she decided to start rescuing herself. XD

Re: Capcom Says It's Always Considering What's Next For Mega Man

MasterGraveheart

You sit on a throne of lies, Capcom. No Mega Man 12 news, no Mega Man X9 news, Legends 3 cancelled, Bad Box Art Mega Man included as a joke that nobody wanted to endure, World cancelled, Mega Man forced to play second fiddle to Street Fighter during his anniversary, Mega Man Fully Charged was... a thing... Capcom likes the iconography and nothing more. They'd rather spend more time on Monster Hunter and Resident Evil.

Re: Rumour: Reliable Insider Says Kingdom Hearts 4 'Might' Come To Switch 2

MasterGraveheart

Well, we know Square Enix wasn't happy with the sales on Sony exclusively, so, I'll buy that the older games could come to Switch 2. But it HAS to be natively.

And while we're at it, bring over the FF7R trilogy after the exclusivity window ends.

And an HD-2D remake of Chrono Trigger.

And Final Fantasy XIV.

And the actual Final Fantasy XV.

And... okay, sorry, I'm getting wish listy here. >.>'

Re: Picross S Is Back With The 'Namco Legendary Edition' Later This Month

MasterGraveheart

So, I'm probably gonna get it anyway since I'm a big Picross nut, but looking at that list, it shows me just how... thin... the Namco Bandai library is when you strip away the licensed IPs like Gundam, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. Which is a shame for a company boasting Pac-Man, Tales of, and Galaga (look, I like Galaga, okay?). I'm happy they found something they're good at, leveraging popular anime into at least decent games, but... I dunno. For a company so ubiquitous with the games industry, there's so little that's their own, it feels like.

Re: Sakurai On Smash Ultimate Win Rates: "Any Fighter Has A Shot At Winning"

MasterGraveheart

That's the ultimate goal of any fighting game. Some can have some superiority over others, but if that gap isn't insurmountable for a lower fighter, then that's the sign of good balance.

If Little Mac can conceivably beat Sonic or Steve, then the balance is achieved. Even if one does win far less.

EDIT: ALSO! Tifa, Shantae, and Shovel Knight for the next Smash!

Re: What Is EGGCONSOLE? - Full Game List, PC-88, MSX2 On Nintendo Switch, Best Games To Start

MasterGraveheart

@BoilerBroJoe This was basically my sentiment. I snagged the Xanadu one and found out that... not only couldn't I read most of it... IT DEFINITELY PLAYS LIKE AN OLD TIMEY COMPUTER GAME! ^^;

Something like this is good, though, for the sake of preservation. But, I don't see myself really investing money on the titles I'm mostly interested in, namely, the text-heavy ones.
