Banjo & Sephiroth are gonna be the popular ones, but I'm throwing my hat in on Hero. I loved the whole composition of that entire trailer, especially with the first, fourth, and eighth heroes.
I don't care what anyone says. I unapologetically love both of these games. And they probably influenced my love of the Shantae series, which followed a similar setup in the early days!
So far so good... now if only we can also get an HD remaster of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, and a collection of the six Layton games, we'll be living good with DS/3DS era ports.
I'm going to lean a high 7 (probably around 7.8 if we were doing decimals), but more 7 than 8 nonetheless. I enjoyed it, it's fun, I'm good with Wario's voice, and I do like the nostalgic throwback to WarioWare Smooth Moves. I think I do like Get It Together a bit more between the two (Penny's theme is an absolute joy-fest), and I liked that they tried something new with the formula and was largely successful.
Again, 7 is a good score, and it's a high 7 if we did decimals. But since I'm comparing it to others in the series, and the WarioWare series is largely full of good ones, it's got a lot more to live up to.
I recommend it if you missed Get It Together, though. You can go listen to Penny's Theme on Nintendo's YouTube and be good.
I don't hate this game. It's flawed and its weak, but I do feel like there was some merit to it. Sonia is a well-designed character (albeit maybe leaning a little heavy into titillation), and remains one of my unironically favorite characters in the series.
She deserved better than to be retconned out. They couldn't even just reboot the poor girl? Aiya...
I wouldn't mind if the Switch successor launched with, like, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Deluxe or something, that just added maybe a couple of modes and a handful of new characters. That'd be good in my book.
Well, I'm certainly glad for a more complete collection here! I remember playing the first Genesis game and... um, not being great at it. I could do the first two levels as Grant and the first as the velociraptor, but that was it.
It'd still be fun to play through that one again! And after watching a guide, I'd like to give the SNES one a shot too.
Honestly, I'd like to see them revisit Mira for Xenoblade Chronicles X's sequel. A re-release is a broken record request, but one I still wanna make too.
I'm so happy to see Karai on board. This roster is just about perfect in my book now. Sure, I'd like to have some other characters too, but I think we're covered for the essentials!
It'd be cool if they'd update the cutscene stills to include characters we unlock, though.
@LikeWhoa I would totally be down for a "Satellaview Reborn" collection from Nintendo or something like that, that could re-create the feel of the old radio shows and Satellaview experiences. I think a perfect recreation is out of the question, but some form of remaster or remake would be good, especially if it meant having those beautiful versions of Zelda.
Also wanna give shout-outs to Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox, Eternal Darkness, and Punch-Out, which seriously needs the Wii version remastered and ported to the Switch. That game was gold.
I feel like the bit with Abobo being a "loyal and protective family man" is a reference to the old fan game "Abobo's Big Adventure," where he fought his way through video game land to rescue his son, Aboboy. Gosh, that game was gruesome and dark and funny and inappropriate for anyone. XD
Okay, not gonna lie? This is a REALLY good drop. Ghouls 'n' Ghosts and Revenge of Shinobi are well-documented classics, but Crusader of Centy is an absolute hidden gem that I hope people don't sleep on! I don't know a lot about Landstalker, but it looks like a good one and people seem happy to have it, so, all in all, probably the strongest singular multi-game drop they've done in a LONG time!
I'm looking at you, NES and SNES NSO offerings... >.>
I don't have a lot to add to the conversation here other than echoing what others are saying. If Arkham City can run beautifully on Wii U, I'm optimistic that it and Asylum will run well on Switch. Heck, without the GamePad to worry about, it might even run better!
I would like to see a City Armored Edition skin for Batman, but beyond that, I won't ask for too much more than those two being well-ported. And if Knight is ported well, that's just icing on the cake, I think.
That said, between this and the Metal Gear Solid collection? I think I'm going to be looking into 1TB MicroSD cards when the annual sales start happening. >.>
Two years later, still no sign of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. I mean, I get it's one of the worst games ever, but I still wanna see the novelty of it all. XD
I'm glad, frankly. I maintain Sonic's universe has too many useless characters and Shadow is one of them. Sorry to his fans, but Shadow doesn't do it for me.
Yeah, this is a huge deal, unfortunately. While Internet connections are a more widespread thing, there's still plenty of scenarios where people don't have a stable connections. Or, what if this were passed on second-hand? That's a huge slight against the subsequent owners. Especially when the eShop inevitably goes down or if Sonic Origins ever gets de-listed, a la Deadpool. Sorry, but Sonic Origins is not a huge file size. Everything should be on the card.
Urbosa may be all kinds of awesome, but Mipha stole my heart from the get-go with her gentle nature, caring approach, fierce defense of others, and warm demeaner. I honestly ship the BotW generation Link with her over Zelda. She made him a friggin' suit of armor! Dime a dozen rings be danged!
So, uh, yeah, Zelda, you... you probably lucked out a wee bit there not having her to compete for Link's affection.
And on that note! Mipha doesn't get catty with Zelda, or vice versa. Could it be? A... HEALTHY love triangle where the two don't absolutely come down on one another over him? Shock of all shocks, it CAN be done! Are you paying attention writers out there? Tifa & Aerith weren't an outlier, here!
Ahem, sorry, kinda went on a tangent there. >.>
But, uh, yeah, Total Sweetheart Mipha > Cool Big Sis Urbosa > Bright Smiling Buddy Daruk > Knockoff Falco Revali for me.
EDIT - Which is funny, because I'm pretty sure I used Revali's weapon and power more than the others. Go figure!
I'm not gonna lie? I think this is one of the few things that feels like an undeniable improvement. We need more halberd-wielding Peach presentations in the world. She already was showing more leap into action-ness, but this feels like a violent shove in the right direction.
Ha! So good to see one of DangerouslyFunny's videos here.
Elliot: This item gives me a horrendous feeling. I'll have to dispose of it.
DF: That's the same thing I say about you every day, Elliot. Good night. <3
Haa...
I knew most of these. I've chugged over a thousand hours into Stardew Valley and I'm certain I'll put a thousand more in. I'm looking forward to that next update and CA's next game. <3
I'm thrilled to see Shredder's Revenge on that list, but Last of Us Part 1 was a pretty poor port, as I understand? Can someone clear that one up for me? Google ain't being my friend at the moment!
So, no PokeRus and we're not using the oh so much better grit item system from Legends? This game really is feeling like one step forward, two steps back.
Maybe Legends Mew needs to come sooner rather than later? :3

Re: Poll: What Is Your Favourite Character Reveal Trailer For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Shares Another Update About Version 1.6
I know it'd be a big undertaking, but I kinda wanna see cutscenes between the bachelors and bachelorettes and expand on their relationships.
Maybe Abigail and Alex attend a martial arts class together?
Do Penny and Sebastian find common ground in a certain author?
What about that time Emily and Harvey got arrested outside of Zuzu city for counterfeit Star Drop sales?
Does Leah paint Haley in secret?
Did Sam ever give Elliot back his fondue pot?!
Go wild with these!
Re: We’ve Played Batman: Arkham Knight On Switch - Here’s 17 Minutes Of Gameplay
This was always going to be the roughest of the trilogy, but honestly, it doesn't look quite as bad as I was fearing. I'm hopeful for the patches.
What I really wanna see is how Asylum and City play. Those two were my favorites in the series.
Re: Random: Waluigi Designer Shares Scrapped Character Art Of "Walpeach"
She's adorable!
And yes, that's all that needs to be said. XD
Re: Anniversary: Zelda II And Castlevania II Both Turn 35 This Month
I don't care what anyone says. I unapologetically love both of these games. And they probably influenced my love of the Shantae series, which followed a similar setup in the early days!
Re: Kamiya To Take His Bayonetta Vision 'To The Grave', Thinks Franchise Will Still Continue
Nine episodes may be a bit ambitious at the rate they come out, but honestly, Kamiya, go nuts and do your thing for as long as you care!
Bayo 3 wasn't my thing story-wise, particularly the ending, but the multiverse of Bayonettas thing is interesting and worth exploring.
Just, y'know, maybe not shaft Jeanne in the next one?
Re: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy Is Seemingly Going Physical In North America Too

Re: Nintendo Updates Switch Online's N64 Release Schedule
Remember when Banjo-Tooie was confirmed when this launched?
Me too.
...Can we also get Diddy Kong Racing, Mischief Makers, Mystical Ninja, and Goemon's Great Adventure, please?
Re: Switch Online Is Expanding The N64 Library With Rare's Jet Force Gemini
That's cool, but I'm still waiting on Banjo-Tooie, Mischief Makers, and the Mystical Ninja games.
Re: Pokémon's COO Wants To Keep Franchise Going For "Hundreds Of Years"
Probably easier said than done, but it's a nice thought that future generations can discover what we loved so much about this franchise.
Though, and I hate to be /that/ commenter, especially since I enjoyed Scarlet & Violet more than most... you know what would help with that?
Making better quality games.
Even if they don't come out yearly, the quality will speak and people will keep coming back.
Re: Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution Is Bringing The Lost GBA Adventure To Switch Next Year
Kicking off with Shantae is an absolute win. I don't care how the rest of Indie World went. <3
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate That Nintendo Indie World Showcase?
It had Shantae. Auto-win.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give WarioWare: Move It?

Re: Talking Point: What's The Most Difficult Mainline Mario Game?
Super Mario Sunshine because it's actually challenging and not cheap like Lost Levels or the special stages of Yoshi's Island.
I dunno, Yoshi's Island. Poochy seems pretty stupid to me. >.>;
Re: Pokémon: Paldean Winds Episode Two Is Available Now On YouTube
Heavy focus on Nemona AND Meowscarada, two of my favorites from Pokémon period? YES PLEASE!
Re: Random: Nintendo Gives Princess Peach Some Facial Tweaks In 'Showtime!' Key Art
"...the princess has gotten a minor makeover to make her look less surprised and a little more...hmm, we're not sure exactly what that look is."
I know what I'd call it. Better.
Re: Disgruntled Switch Fans File Class Action Lawsuit Over KOTOR II DLC Cancellation
I never even got offered the Steam game. Probably because I bought a physical copy through Limited Run. Ah well.
Re: Review: Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster - A Welcome, If Flawed, Return For Monolith Soft's GameCube Duo
I'm not even mad over the English VA thing? The audio in the GC original was VERY hollow-y.

Well, I'm certainly glad for a more complete collection here! I remember playing the first Genesis game and... um, not being great at it. I could do the first two levels as Grant and the first as the velociraptor, but that was it.

Xenoblade Chronicles: A TellTale Series!
Just kidding.

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th July (North America)
I promise I won't do this every week, but with her resurrected game announced, I gotta do one for old time's sake at least.
Ahem... tunes the keyboard
Where's my Shantae?!
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
Throwing in my love for StarTropics.

The fact that Symphony of the Night isn't on Switch in any form yet is an absolute travesty.

Oooooohohohoho... do I get to begin my repeated "Where's My Shantae" questions every week now?
