A solid 7 for me.

It was jam packed but there was very little for me personally. If you love Mario or life sim games, then you'll love the direct for sure.

Another Mario Tennis game just feels unnecessary when there are other sports not explored or without a recent game.

Announcing DLC before a game comes out always feels dirty as well.

@BigTDanimegirl I agree witht he first part. Rebirth looked insane on a PS5 and getting this to run on Switch 2 is gunna take some serious scaling.

However I played Rebirth from day 1 on PS5 and it ran fine. The performance mode had its issues at launch, but that was fixed. It was a stupidly enjoyable experience and I cant wait to have it on the go with me.

If this is true, the Canis handheld (and maybe even the S console) will be digital only and I'm not sure the world quite wants that yet.

I am having my first baby in November this year. The wife was thrilled when I showed her this news.

I loved the early stuff from both Image & Form and Zoink, but I haven't been as much into their newer stuff since they joined up. I hope Atari give them the funding they need to remain creative and give them a marketing budget that their games deserve.

Mean is an average and when people say "Average" they are referring to Mean.

If we have a data set of:

1, 5, 20, 30, 31, 33, 34, 44, 58, 64 the Mean is the total (320) / amount of inputs (10) = 32

This is a data set where 50% of the population (5) is higher than 32 with one of those being 64. I'm not sure what averages you are trying to talk about.

Seems okay for the price but its not protecting the full console like that.

I just got mine delivered today but this one from JSAUX seems to be the sweetspot of protection and comfort at its £26 price point. The joy con grips are also separate which is only available currently on far more expensive grips.

No Switch/2 games have impressed me enough so far this year, but thats kinda expected considering the new console launch. I am expecting MP4 to be up there and maybe something else which we dont know about yet.

In terms of all games released this year its easily Expedition 33, which I hope gets a Switch 2 release eventually.

@rvcolem1 Waluigi was the best character with his crotch chop celebration. His special moves was a vibey wall though, that you could wrap around a team if you were quick enough.

Yes we get it Nintendo, you are proud of this interconnecting Mario Kart world you created. However there are those of us that do not give two hoots about Free Roam or these interconnected races.

Knockout Tour is a blast though, which is only possible due to this interconnected world, so I'll give them that.

Sure most games were 2-5 years old already but most genres were covered and the games that did come were pretty great in their respective genres.

I'm not really sure what you expect out of a brand new console launch...

@Athropos I think the difference here is that No Mans Sky is a game that is still being worked on and gets new releases on new consoles all the time as they come out.

The only other comparable game are the free-to-play games and we already have the biggest in Fortnite. I assume the rest will come.

I bought this, to take advantage of the deep discount right now, but have not yet dove in. I am afraid that when I do, Ill not want to come back to reality.

I've also got Expedition 33 to finish on my PS5 first before I crack open any new big games.

I have done all of the 50CC Grand Prix's but I really have no idea what tracks I've even played and what they are called.

The driving to the next track really takes away from knowing the tracks inside out when you only race 1 lap on some tracks and sometimes dont even notice when a "track" actually starts.

This is a really weird Mario Kart and I'm not sure it has landed how Nintendo intended.

The mechanics and music are fantastic but the open world is pretty lacklustre and the gran prix choices are baffling. A solid 7/10 from me.

I'm getting this day 1.

I played it through on PS4 and loved it so I cant wait to go through it again and then hopefully Rebirth for a 2nd time.

@PinderSchloss @johnedwin I dont disagree with either of you but the person I was replying to was alluding to Key Cards being worse than eShop downloads for longevity, when these two are actually exactly the same.

Key Cards have the advantage of being able to sell them but the disadvantage that you have to have the cart in the system to play.

Physical trumps all of course for longevity.

@garfreek I'm not sure you understand how the Key Cards work. They download the game to your device in the same way buying the game from the eshop does.

If you can buy the game from the eShop, then a Key Card will still work. So I'm not sure why you think all these Key Cards will be worthless in 6 years time, unless you think Nintendo is done and will cease to exist in that time?

@BenAV The best tip I ever read for applying a screen protector is to do it in a bathroom, even better if you can run a hot shower before hand.

The steam grabs all the dust in the air and drops it to the floor giving you some time to apply a screenproector dust free.

@Tayrailbridge I am fairly sure that Nintendo will re-release every game in the series to have mouse controls.

Whether that is as an update to the Switch 1 games or as a brand new Switch 2 release I cannot be sure.

Pikmin is ripe for mouse controls and I'm here for it when it lands.

This was the first Pokemon game I did not get at launch. Sw/Sh left a bad taste in my mouth and the notes performance issues of SV kept me away.

I did however find a clearance copy of the game at an Asda for £20 and I thought "why not?".

It still took me months to start playing it, but I am having so much fun.

I've put it down now as the Switch 2 upgrades will likely improve my enjoyment, so I will pick it back up again in a month or two.

@Kingy How much spare time do you have to spend 25 hours on something you score a 3/10?

Fair play to you for giving it a good crack but it just seems wild to invest that much time in something you clearly did not like.

Is there any reason people are ordering the joycon straps already? The console already comes with a pair and the joy con sets come with a pair as well.

I never intended to get a Pro Controller with the original system, but picking it up from GAME back in the day they uphold me a kipper. They let me get hold of one in the flesh and it was just so comfy I had to buy it.

Playing BotW on the sofa with that pro controller is definitely a core memory of mine. How on earth that was 8 years ago is mind blowing.

Considering I've been having Internet arguments that the Switch 2 is one of the best launch lineups we have ever seen from any console, this is easily Switch 2 for me.

@Spider-Kev I'm with you that the cases are ambiguous at best. I do not believe they confirm either way whether the included contents is a Switch 1 cartridge and Switch 2 download code, or a cartridge with all the data on.

@Acing I am certain, considering the mouse controls, that we will see all Pikmin games on the Switch 2 in an upgraded manner.

1) Yes. Not being able to use NS2 controllers eith NS1 games will completely break the point of backwards compatibility.

2) I would be very surprised if you could connect NS2 controllers to the NS1

3) Nintendo have confirmed that Switch 1 controllers are compatible with Switch 2. Whatever that means.

I do not believe it has yet been definitively confirmed, with Nintendo reps from various established providing conflicting answers.

The Piranha Plant one does however come detached from its base and you can plug into into the top of the Switch 2 for handheld mode.

Makes you feel like you are using the GameBoy camera again.

The official model looks like it has to stay on its stand, because even in the pictures in handheld mode it is on the stand. I am sure a third party or a 3D printing clip will come out to allow the official model to be used properly in handheld mode.

The drawing mini game at 49 secs, with different players being different colours, looks potentially rage inducing.

The trailer says they have to be a family member AND the card has to be transfered locally.

@Bomberman64 Until it is made mandatory that digital games can be bought and sold by the end user, then digital gaming will not take off.

I thought there was an EU ruling on this a while back but I'd imagine the big guns kicked off and got it overturned.

@HeadPirate From back when I used to do this with my brother the setup was like this:

• My brothers switch was set as my Home console
• This means he was able to download and play any game from my digital library
• As my switch was secondary I had to be connected to the Internet for the system to check my brother wasn't already playing the game before it let me boot up the game
• My brother was able to play any game i was already playing BUT I could not play any game he was already playing

Do i have this wrong somewhere?
