@SillyG Yes there is no reason for the Switch 2 physical to exist.

Same with Digimon Time Strangers.

The only thing I can think is it gets the game in the Switch 2 section at retail but for informed customers, there is no reason to get the Switch 2 version of either game (Afternoon or Digimon) over the Switch 1 release UNLESS you are deadset on having everything in a Switch 2 box and wish to pay the premium for that.

I bought the game when the S2 Edition was announced and still not played it yet. Oops.

The gen where I started losing interest and cant name every month from seeing them.

Anyway, Araquanid is by far my favourite with its rare typing and cool design. Love it.

@MathByThePixel As said in my full comment, this should have been released on both NSO and seperately on the eShop. Releasing on NSO doesnt exclude a release from the eShop.

Thats fine, they kinda deserve it with some of their totally bonkers decisions, with this being one of them.

There is zero reason for these to not be on NSO other than greed. They could have released it both on NSO and seperately and everyone would be happy. Also do a dual pack physical release to really attract everyone to it. This just feels very lazy and a cash grab (that will unfortunately succeed).

Still have not played this since getting it at the Switch 2 launch. Oops.

I am certain this was shown off at the recent (behind closed doors) Capcom event, alongside RE Requeim and Pragmata.

I would assume at this point that it'll release alongside a massive expansion.

I did bounce off this game quicker than I did Rise though so I'm not sure a NS2 version will tempt me back in.

Not as many faves in this gen for me, but Gourgeist takes the cake. I live that haunted pumpkin doofus.

Chesnaught, Furfrou, Aegislash and Heliolisk are also close runners up.

This game really went on a roller coaster in my head. At initial reveal I was on board, but then the premium price and GKC was revealed which really soured it for me. But now with the preview event I am well on board to play this DQB2 and Viva Pinata mash up.

Got my order in on the Nintendo Store UK. Im personally looking forward to the Yoshi line and more from this My Mario branding, but my wallet sure isn't.

My 2nd favourite Gen and lots of faves in here for sure.

Bishop is my out and out face but others like Excadrill, Golurk, Galvantula, Mandibuzz, Gigalith, Leavanny and particularly Scolipede come very close.

I didn't have to scroll far.

Easily Empoleon. My favourite animal getting a badass design and my favourite typing (steel) makes this an easy pick.

2nd place goes to Mamoswine for sure.

A full reveal on 26th Feb because we are getting a Nintendo direct before then which launches "Zeldas 40th Anniversary", right? RIGHT!?

This Gen is my jam. So many good ones that it was hard to just whittle it down to Mawile.

Other faves include: Lotad line, Grove, Aggron, Torkoal, Flygon, Metagross, Absol, Tropius, Zangoose, Manectric, Crawdaunt.

The previews have drastically raised my opinion of this. I may have to grab a copy now to play Viva Pokemon

Having played, and loved, the PS5 version you can definitely see the drop in visual quality and frame rate here.

HOWEVER, that is absolutely to be expected and if they can get it running at a stable 30FPS, then I think this'll easily jump into my top 5 games all time.

I adore it, with all its silliness and minigames and the characters, world and particularly the music are just fantastic.

I need to finish DQ11S, then Remake but bring on Rebirth. I cant wait.

EDIT: And I have now just seen that the Rebirth soundtrack is now finally out on Spotify or your music streaming site of choice. Today is a very good day

I have always felt this game is too expensive for what it is (particularly as a GKC) but you have piqued my interest again with the VP comparisons.

@Dee123 No game lasts 10 years, unless it has a solid multiplayer component, ala Rocket League, LoL, MMO's etc.

This guy is a mad man.

I have no doubt that the game is very good, but it is quite niche so I cant see a publisher willing to support this game for that long.

HK for me and to be fair I didnt love the game. I just thought it was good.

SS is just way too hard for me to really enjoy.

Metroidvanias are not my favourite genre either so HK and SS had a lot to do to get me to love them. The Ori games are my personal favourites.

I havent read the review, as Im at work, but with the lack of Adventure mode this really is just Mario Aces 2.0 and probably could've just been DLC or a Switch 2 version of that game. Sigh

@Tyranexx The art is good for those two, but it is a good 7 years old at this point.

Not sure if you are able to confirm through your sources as this is the first I am seeing it is coming to the UK in less than 2 weeks. The Fisher Price My Mario toys are already out so it cant be related to those.

@rvcolem1 Nintendo did this with New Luigi U, back on the Wii U, and it was awesome.

I have no idea how many the game sold but to me it showed that the big N is capable of doing it for sure.

@Sonicka DQ7 doesnt have a free upgrade for the Switch 1 version to Switch 2.

What Bandai have done here is make the Switch 2 GKC release worthless. Particularly as the Switch 1 release is cheaper to Purchase at retail

Indianna Jones is a 120GB game. Have Nintendo got bigger carts ready to go? Or is the game very heavily compressed?

Either way I am glad to here is a full game on cart. I do think the language is weird however and invites confusion.

Day One.

One of my all time greats and this version in handheld my push the game into my top 5 all time. I just love it.

One of the games I held off getting on my PS5 as I felt id play it more in handheld. Glad to see it finally coming over. Also good to see the Switch getting involved

102GB size for this is still a good 40gb smaller than the PS5 version. There is some impressive optimization going on here. I do wonder whether Monolith Soft could have helped out with this one? They do seem to be the kings of optimising large world games on Nintendo hardware.

@Sindayl Depends what you want. Remake was very linear and story focused, by design.

Rebirth is more open with many optional side quests and minigames.

I loved both games but Rebirth is the highlight of the 2 for me.

Finished it on PS5 and can't wait to dive in again in handheld. Solid title and coming much earlier than I expected.

Resident Evil Triple Pack for me. Along with new joycon that should be enough for me for this month, but then it depends what they are going to announce at the Direct in a couple of hours.

One game I am hoping gets a Switch 2 edition is DQ11S. It is obviously capped in both handheld and docked to stop the Switch 1 from exploding, but it makes it a pain to play through with the smeary visuals on the larger Switch 1 screen.

I realise it's unlikely to happen but Swuare are on a DQ tear right now and they may want players new players to try out the game before they release DQ12 at some point in the next few years.

I am one of the few people that merely liked Hollow Knight. I did complete it but I don't love it enough to want to go back.

I did pick up Silksong but I think I'm just not good enough to have fun with it.

This is good for everyone who enjoys the game though. Not that I thought the game performed poorly by any means.

Now if Moon Studios want to give us Switch 2 editions of the Ori games, then I am very much up for that.
