@Misima Its a remake of a tactical RPG. Its a pretty niche genre, certainly by modern gaming trends of open world games and roguelikes.

I cannot see how this game justifies a full £60 price point AND has the cheek to come on a Game Key Card.

I would happily order if it was a £35 game, which is what it looks like it is.

I am not against Game Key Cards but it should definitely make the game cheaper. This is not acceptable Nintendo.

Way too expensive for what it is. Far cheaper to just buy a big case and a travel battery, which will also be more versatile.

This product is pricing itself out of any reasonable market.

But yes the cartridges were offset, I presume so you couldn't pull them out when the games were running? I remember a little bit of plastic came out to rest in the groove when you turned the unit on.

@Twilite9 What's updated about it? There is some colour variation, sure, but to my untrained eye I cant spot anything out of place between my old cartridge and the new Lego sticker.

It sadly has not drawn me in like the first 3 games did. Even MP1 Remastered was a good time. But this just feels average, which is an insult for a Nintendo game.

A thing to get me play more would be split sensitivity settings for Joycon vs the Pro Controller. With the Pro I can use a high sensitivity, but in handheld I need to crank the sensitivity down to play. Probably something to do with the length of the sticks or something.

@Pillowpants Yeah the ranking system is the complete alphabet so Rank S is only 8 ranks up. Despite our brains probably being hardwired at this point to assume that Rank S is the top rank you can ever achieve.

Not really a problem for me when I am such a Nintendo fan anyway that direct marketing really is not going to sway my spending habits anyway.

As long as you are using the console as it is intended to be used, then you have nothing to worry about.

Sure it could come, but this feels more like a left over piece of code from another project.

Much more likely that Rise is getting a Switch 2 edition and the code was simply copied over from that considering they run on the same engine. The Engine itself has probably had some code updated considering all the Switch 2 projects Capcom are working on and it just so happens that Rise is the first game to see this Engine side update.

I wouldn't read much into it. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing considering most considering Rise a much better game

@Dalamar The Switch 2 launch lineup had a good number of the most highly rated games at launch.

Of course if you have played them elsewhere then that takes the shine of them quite a bit.

But viewed in isolation its really hard not to say the Switch 2 launch lineup is one of the best we have ever seen. Certainly in terms of breath of solid titles and not just 1 killer app.

But then I probably shouldn't of as Ball X Pit is currently taking all my time, I need to get back to Prime 4, and then FF7 releases in January.

I am one of the few people that has never properly played Skyrim.

I played Oblivion back in the day, and loved it, but the jankiness of the Skyrim combat always put me off.

Maybe as my tastes have now matured I should give it another go.

@siavm I wouldn't bother with 16 personally. It was fine but it got quite samey and I personally felt it went on a bit too long.

Fantastic characters, voice acting and music as always, but the quests were bland and I didnt care so much for the world or story. I couldn't really tell you now what it was about.

Just finished the demo.

Looks great, plays great. I do wish they could have gotten it to at least 40FPS, but considering the fan sounded pretty maxed out whilst playing, I can accept the limitations.

Anyone who has not played this before is in for a treat.

Already downloaded it and just waiting for lunch time to give it a go.

Not interested in any of the Nintendo releases announced so far, but I am sure they have plenty still up their sleeves to announce in upcoming directs.

There are a lot of solid 3rd parties coming though and Capcom are supporting it well. I currently have FF7 and Resi 9 preordered, but with a newborn my gaming time has dwindled anyway.

The Blastoise mega is just so bad.

I'm still missing about 15 cards from the current set but Im glad I resisted temptation to spend all my hourglasses. I am surprised this has held my attention for this long to be honest.

And this game is now reduced to its lowest price on the UK eShop for £10.79 or £12.59 with the 2 DLC packs.

Definitely picking this up now, as it doesn't go on offer very much. Cowabunga!

@AverageGamer I did cherry pick your post but I do not believe I changed the context.

My Switch does leave the house and I barely play it docked, maybe 10% of the time. I would argue that booting the Switch 10-20 times a day is not the norm however and the average user will be closer to 2 or 3 times a day. Kudos to you though for using a feature that fits your life though.

@AverageGamer We can agree to disagree on the "Sleep work needs to work. Thats not negotiable". Systems and Games boot up quick enough in this day and age that I do not feel a sleep mode is anywhere near a necessity.

In most cases of games like this crashing, its because people are using the sleep functionality of the console and leaving the game running in the background. I always exit my games after every session and Ive not had a problem with a game crashing once.

Sure the suspend gamestate should work as intended but it doesn't work properly on any machine ever. The only way to maintain performance is to close things down properly.

I have absolutely no doubts that the whole Pikmin series will get Switch 2 editions.

Pikmin is the best Nintendo franchise to showcase mouse controls. Platoon will also be insane but Pikmin is the one.

I have actually only played 3 on th3 WiiU but I absolutely loved it and it would be fantastic to play through the whole series in the best way possible.

Bring on summer next year (when I think it will release).

So the patch notes are referring to putting the Switch 1 version of the game into the Switch 2 system. The Switch 2 version of the game is all on cart BUT there is a day 1 patch for amiibo functionality and some difficulty tweaks. The Switch 2 version of the game is fully playable from cart, sans amiibo functionality.

Looks good but I'm not paying £60 for a digital copy of the game. This game really deserves a physical copy.

Ill wait for at least a 50% sale before I dive on this. Which means I'm probably never getting it.

Saying that there is no way the higher resolution and frame rates are only 1.5GB in size. The Switch 1 cart must have the hi res stuff on cart and it just cant access it right?

I do have a PS5 but with a newborn, I just don't time with the TV like I used to. Therefore having it on a portable works best for me.

It was obvious the full game would not fit on a standard cart BUT they could've stuffed the game onto the cartridge and then have hires textures as a seperate download.

Saying that, I am still buying this fantastic game again to play on the go.

I just finished the story last night so this'll likely be the last ranked season before I sell the game on.

It was okay whilst it lasted but everything aside from the battle system is forgettable.

I wish this had a better team to port it than Aspyr but I remember enjoying this at release. I am sure it is a lie that it came out 12 years ago, but ill definitely pick this up for the relatively cheap price.

Please start bringing this all worldwide soon. I've just had a baby and all this stuff is perfect.

I did wonder why I wasnt seeing any news about PDP accessories for the Switch 2.

@ShieldHero It is known that the 1st anniversary will be the starter of the second wave of boosters, coinciding with Mega cards.

This final booster set is great for anyone who joined late to catch up with the rarer cards, but also provides new art for people who have been here from day 1 and have all the cards already.

Myself the only card I am missing is Poliwrath EX from the latest set as well as the Promo Mewtwo card that you had to pay for.

Im looking forward to this. I'm a career only player, and have been since FIFA 2001. Glad this isnt a complete disaster, even if it could be a bit better.

Ill definitely pick it up for that £20 price point. I was always interested in it on the Switch, even playing the demo, but never got round to purchasing.

With me apparently sucking at gaming and the Mothwing in Silksong giving me trouble, I think i need something a bit more relaxing to chill me out.

I bought this at launch, as I was looking for a full case where the joy con are still detachable, and it was between this and the much more expensive dBrand version.

Im glad I went for this as it has done everything I wanted from it and feels great to play on.

I'd definitely rate this more of a 7 or even an 8. The negatives on this review are more potential issues instead of actual issues, but I get why the reviewer is nervous.

@87th Please excuse me if I have this wrong, but isnt this the same thing as the Zeldas and Kirby Switch 2 editions? Those are native Switch games. Heck, the cart even works in the Switch 1 model.

I've not played either of these games so Im definitely getting them. Doubly so when ShopTo had it for £41.99 yesterday. Yes please.

1 dedicated direct was too many for this game. 2 is just overkill.

I do love Sakarai's quirkiness, and he does hold my attention, but this game just ain't it.
