@PinderSchloss @johnedwin I dont disagree with either of you but the person I was replying to was alluding to Key Cards being worse than eShop downloads for longevity, when these two are actually exactly the same.
Key Cards have the advantage of being able to sell them but the disadvantage that you have to have the cart in the system to play.
@garfreek I'm not sure you understand how the Key Cards work. They download the game to your device in the same way buying the game from the eshop does.
If you can buy the game from the eShop, then a Key Card will still work. So I'm not sure why you think all these Key Cards will be worthless in 6 years time, unless you think Nintendo is done and will cease to exist in that time?
Real answer: Pikmin with those mouse controls. Will be absolutely glorious. I actually expect Nintendo to release all 4 again on the Switch 2 with the mouse controls and improved graphics.
Is there any reason people are ordering the joycon straps already? The console already comes with a pair and the joy con sets come with a pair as well.
I never intended to get a Pro Controller with the original system, but picking it up from GAME back in the day they uphold me a kipper. They let me get hold of one in the flesh and it was just so comfy I had to buy it.
Playing BotW on the sofa with that pro controller is definitely a core memory of mine. How on earth that was 8 years ago is mind blowing.
Finally the confirmation I have been waiting for. Awesome.
The only one I'll probably end up with is MP4 to be fair, as I am definitely upgrading to the top NSO tier for GC games and so will get the Zelda upgrades for "free".
Considering I've been having Internet arguments that the Switch 2 is one of the best launch lineups we have ever seen from any console, this is easily Switch 2 for me.
@Spider-Kev I'm with you that the cases are ambiguous at best. I do not believe they confirm either way whether the included contents is a Switch 1 cartridge and Switch 2 download code, or a cartridge with all the data on.
The Piranha Plant one does however come detached from its base and you can plug into into the top of the Switch 2 for handheld mode.
Makes you feel like you are using the GameBoy camera again.
The official model looks like it has to stay on its stand, because even in the pictures in handheld mode it is on the stand. I am sure a third party or a 3D printing clip will come out to allow the official model to be used properly in handheld mode.
@HeadPirate From back when I used to do this with my brother the setup was like this:
My brothers switch was set as my Home console
This means he was able to download and play any game from my digital library
As my switch was secondary I had to be connected to the Internet for the system to check my brother wasn't already playing the game before it let me boot up the game
My brother was able to play any game i was already playing BUT I could not play any game he was already playing
@HeadPirate Huh? It literally showed in the trailer that you can split your whole collection across 2 devices, assuming you have your account on there.
No idea why you think you can only share 1 at a time.
@YaGirlSkyByte You lend the game to a different account. That is the difference.
The current arrangement means you have to be logged in to 2 different consoles, with the secondary console always needing an Internet connection to check whether the game is already being played on the 1st console.
This new thing means that:
1) It'll get rid of that primary vs secondary console nonsense
2) You can actually give it to a friend without needing to out your account on their system
The battle system definitely reminded me of the first Digimon World game, which released over 25 years ago. Not to say that it's bad, but it certainly is far from innovative.
In fact the limiting the game to one City is giving me more Digimon vibes than Pokemon. Arceus was fantastic due to the sense of adventure and exploration which I'm not sure this game will have.
I've been waiting for this patch for sooooooo long.
I really enjoyed the game but the boss fights were awful with the framerate issues and input lag. I think it was only the 2nd boss that made me quit the game (the lady crab).
I'll definitely dive back in following this update, and I look forward to the developers next project.
@Arminillo Apologies, I didn't mean to imply I had all the cards. I believe I am at 160/220 and can still see that having all the cards makes battling trivial.
@Xeraphis I can imagine it is. Speed your way to get your strongest monster in play and just sweep through your opponent with very little resistance or time to counter.
Don't get me wrong, this sped up rules has its place, but it is quite luck based.
How anyone has spent any money on the app is beyond me.
Once you have all the cards, the battling system is so short and mostly luck based, that is appeal quickly disappears.
I like the TCG videogames enough to carry on playing, but I just don't see the point of whaling the game when there is no competitive reason to do so. Utterly baffling.
This game reminds me of Island Saver, which has a similar concept of cleaning up the environment and feeding cute critters.
If you haven't already then I highly recommend getting Island Savers, with the best part being that it is free with no microtransactions whatsoever (there are two DLC packs for some extra islands to explore for £3.99 each which I chose to buy as the game is worth more than it's £0.00 price tag)

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Scores Switch 2 Release Window
I'm getting this day 1.
I played it through on PS4 and loved it so I cant wait to go through it again and then hopefully Rebirth for a 2nd time.
Re: Review: Kunitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess (Switch 2) - Tower Defence With A Twist In Capcom's Gorgeous, Yokai-Slaying Hybrid
I've got this and Fantasy Life physicals coming from Amazon Japan for £86, which I dont think is a bad price at all.
Glad to know this has reviewed well and we know that Fangasy Life has been highly reviewed everywhere. Can't wait to get stuck in.
Re: 60FPS, Higher Resolution, Mouse Controls - Fortnite On Switch 2 Sounds Like A Big Step Up
Wait, I thought this was supposed to be 120FPS? Is that coming later?

Key Cards have the advantage of being able to sell them but the disadvantage that you have to have the cart in the system to play.
Physical trumps all of course for longevity.

Re: PSA: Switch 2's Screen Comes With A Pre-Applied Film Layer, Don't Peel It Off
@BenAV The best tip I ever read for applying a screen protector is to do it in a bathroom, even better if you can run a hot shower before hand.
The steam grabs all the dust in the air and drops it to the floor giving you some time to apply a screenproector dust free.
I've been doing this since the Switch and not had any issues yet touch wood
Re: Here's Your First Look At Pokémon Scarlet And Violet On Switch 2
We need a trailer, not screenshot. Do better TPC
Re: 12 Switch Games Are Getting Free Switch 2 Upgrades, Here's What You Can Expect
@Tayrailbridge I am fairly sure that Nintendo will re-release every game in the series to have mouse controls.
Whether that is as an update to the Switch 1 games or as a brand new Switch 2 release I cannot be sure.
Pikmin is ripe for mouse controls and I'm here for it when it lands.
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Is Now The Second-Best Selling Game In The Series
This was the first Pokemon game I did not get at launch. Sw/Sh left a bad taste in my mouth and the notes performance issues of SV kept me away.
I did however find a clearance copy of the game at an Asda for £20 and I thought "why not?".
It still took me months to start playing it, but I am having so much fun.
I've put it down now as the Switch 2 upgrades will likely improve my enjoyment, so I will pick it back up again in a month or two.
Re: Opinion: Switch 2 Finally Gives Star Wars Outlaws A Second Chance
@Kingy How much spare time do you have to spend 25 hours on something you score a 3/10?
Fair play to you for giving it a good crack but it just seems wild to invest that much time in something you clearly did not like.
Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo Series Are You Most Excited To See Return On Switch 2?
Joke answer: Battalion Wars on the GC app
Real answer: Pikmin with those mouse controls. Will be absolutely glorious. I actually expect Nintendo to release all 4 again on the Switch 2 with the mouse controls and improved graphics.
Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?

I've got one pre ordered.

Re: Sun & Moon Fans Rejoice! Pokémon TCG Pocket's Next Set Is All About Alola
Give me Alolan Sandshrew and Araquanid. Love those guys.
Re: EA Reveals Price For Split Fiction On Switch 2
Well the comment about it being cross-platform Gameshare has convinced me.
I can play on my Switch 2 whilst my brother plays miles away, in his own house, on his PS5. Lovely
Re: ICYMI: Street Fighter 6 Is Also Getting A 'Standard' Release On Switch 2
@thenikdavies It's Amszon so I would say you can certainly trust it.
Whether they'll cancel though is anyone's guess.

Re: ICYMI: Street Fighter 6 Is Also Getting A 'Standard' Release On Switch 2
Be quick, because its certainly a mis-price, but the years 1-2 edition is currently £36 on Amazon UK:

Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?
@obijuankanoobie
@obijuankanoobie
A brand new 24 player Mario Kart
2 of the best Zelda/adventure games of all time
Gamecube classics with 3 of the best games on the system
Civ 7 with the best control scheme on a console
And sprinkling of some top games from this past generation (Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk, Street Fighter 6, Split Fiction)

Re: Community: What Questions About Switch 2 Do You Still Have For Nintendo?
@Acing I am certain, considering the mouse controls, that we will see all Pikmin games on the Switch 2 in an upgraded manner.
Maybe not updated at launch, but at some point
Re: Community: What Questions About Switch 2 Do You Still Have For Nintendo?
@stinky_t
1) Yes. Not being able to use NS2 controllers eith NS1 games will completely break the point of backwards compatibility.
2) I would be very surprised if you could connect NS2 controllers to the NS1
3) Nintendo have confirmed that Switch 1 controllers are compatible with Switch 2. Whatever that means.
Re: Community: What Questions About Switch 2 Do You Still Have For Nintendo?
@Spider-Kev Please point me to something official that confirms it is a code?
I do not believe it has yet been definitively confirmed, with Nintendo reps from various established providing conflicting answers.
No official nintendo Web page or video has confirmed either way.
Re: Hori's Switch 2 Piranha Plant Camera Has Much Worse Resolution Than Nintendo's
The Piranha Plant one does however come detached from its base and you can plug into into the top of the Switch 2 for handheld mode.

Re: 'Mouse Work' Looks Like It Might Be The Switch 2 Equivalent Of 'Snipperclips'
The drawing mini game at 49 secs, with different players being different colours, looks potentially rage inducing.
Love it
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
@sunspotty Your second prong is wrong.
The trailer says they have to be a family member AND the card has to be transfered locally.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
@Bomberman64 Until it is made mandatory that digital games can be bought and sold by the end user, then digital gaming will not take off.
I thought there was an EU ruling on this a while back but I'd imagine the big guns kicked off and got it overturned.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
@HeadPirate From back when I used to do this with my brother the setup was like this:

@HeadPirate Huh? It literally showed in the trailer that you can split your whole collection across 2 devices, assuming you have your account on there.
No idea why you think you can only share 1 at a time.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
@Member_the_game This is exactly what Nintendo are replicating with digital games.
Something that you couldn't do previously.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
@Denoloco I'm interested to know what other consoles do this better?
As fair as I am aware, neither the PS5 nor Series X allow you to lend games to your friends.
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
Hands down the best part of the Direct (unfortunately).
Roll on April 2nd

Re: Tales Of The Shire, The Cosy LOTR Game, Has Been Delayed Again
To me this has just never looked very good. Either graphically, performance or the gameplay itself.
Feels to me like it'll end up being vapourware.
But if it comes out and people enjoy it then power to them.
Re: PSA: 'Nintendo Switch 2 Experience' Invites Are Now Being Sent Out
No luck for the London event for me
The Switch 1 event was a blast so I expect the same for this one.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Trailer Gives First Official Look At The New Console
Booking onto that hands on event as soon as I can. The Switch 1 event in London was awesome.
Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Will Reportedly Be Officially Revealed This Thursday
I'm all here for it. Sure I have a backlog on my Switch, but I can take that with me to the Switch 2.
Reveal now
Software blowout in Feb (maybe another public hands on like they did for the Switch?)
Release in March. Perfect

Re: Thunderful Announces Its Second Restructuring Program In One Year
Whilst the Steamworld games are solid, it's actually the games from the other side of the company (used to be Zoink) that I personally preffered.
Stick it to the Man is still one of my all time favourites.

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of The Nintendo Sound Clock 'Alarmo' Are In
@MjJmediablogger I agree that it wasn't clear in the video, but I assume it only does this in the morning after the alarm has gone off?
No reason for it to do it all night as then many people would not sleep.
Re: Talking Point: After A September No-Show, Will There Be An October Nintendo Direct?
Switch 2-ber baby, as I am expecting Nintendo to follow the Switch 1 timeline of release; announced in Oct, released in Mar.
If the do a pre-release again in February that would be sweet (I got invited for the Switch event and took my brother to London. It was a fun time)
Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Will Launch Early Next Year, Claims Accessory Company
@DwaynesGames Just FYI the Switch was announced in October 2016 and then released in March 2017.
The Switch 2 could definitely follow the same timeline. I'm not saying it will, but it could.
