As fair as I am aware, neither the PS5 nor Series X allow you to lend games to your friends.

@YaGirlSkyByte You lend the game to a different account. That is the difference.

The current arrangement means you have to be logged in to 2 different consoles, with the secondary console always needing an Internet connection to check whether the game is already being played on the 1st console.

This new thing means that:

1) It'll get rid of that primary vs secondary console nonsense

2) You can actually give it to a friend without needing to out your account on their system

The battle system definitely reminded me of the first Digimon World game, which released over 25 years ago.
Not to say that it's bad, but it certainly is far from innovative.

In fact the limiting the game to one City is giving me more Digimon vibes than Pokemon. Arceus was fantastic due to the sense of adventure and exploration which I'm not sure this game will have.

To me this has just never looked very good. Either graphically, performance or the gameplay itself.

Feels to me like it'll end up being vapourware.

But if it comes out and people enjoy it then power to them.

The Switch 1 event was a blast so I expect the same for this one.

Booking onto that hands on event as soon as I can. The Switch 1 event in London was awesome.

I'm all here for it. Sure I have a backlog on my Switch, but I can take that with me to the Switch 2.

I've been waiting for this patch for sooooooo long.

I really enjoyed the game but the boss fights were awful with the framerate issues and input lag. I think it was only the 2nd boss that made me quit the game (the lady crab).

I'll definitely dive back in following this update, and I look forward to the developers next project.

Whilst the Steamworld games are solid, it's actually the games from the other side of the company (used to be Zoink) that I personally preffered.

Stick it to the Man is still one of my all time favourites.

@Arminillo Apologies, I didn't mean to imply I had all the cards. I believe I am at 160/220 and can still see that having all the cards makes battling trivial.

@Xeraphis I can imagine it is. Speed your way to get your strongest monster in play and just sweep through your opponent with very little resistance or time to counter.

Don't get me wrong, this sped up rules has its place, but it is quite luck based.

How anyone has spent any money on the app is beyond me.

Once you have all the cards, the battling system is so short and mostly luck based, that is appeal quickly disappears.

I like the TCG videogames enough to carry on playing, but I just don't see the point of whaling the game when there is no competitive reason to do so. Utterly baffling.

Just put a preorder in for the Asian edition now it's confirmed to have English as an option. Nice.

No reason for it to do it all night as then many people would not sleep.

Switch 2-ber baby, as I am expecting Nintendo to follow the Switch 1 timeline of release; announced in Oct, released in Mar.

If the do a pre-release again in February that would be sweet (I got invited for the Switch event and took my brother to London. It was a fun time)

@DwaynesGames Just FYI the Switch was announced in October 2016 and then released in March 2017.

The Switch 2 could definitely follow the same timeline. I'm not saying it will, but it could.

This game reminds me of Island Saver, which has a similar concept of cleaning up the environment and feeding cute critters.

If you haven't already then I highly recommend getting Island Savers, with the best part being that it is free with no microtransactions whatsoever (there are two DLC packs for some extra islands to explore for £3.99 each which I chose to buy as the game is worth more than it's £0.00 price tag)

I got burnt with Another Crabs Treasure, which I was really excited for, but it just ran so terribly in handheld mode making the game even harder than it already was. Should've just bought it on PS5 in the first place. Sigh.

$30 for the digital version at launch?

This has gone from a Day 1 purchase to "Wait for a sale". Absolutely not paying that much for a digital title, particularly if the physical edition never releases here in the UK.

@Dogorilla Just watched a couple of videos and all the boosters there were 5 card packs.

Of course that is a demo version, so the full game could be 10 card packs, but as 20 cards feels generous, I think 5 card packs will be standard.

@Denoloco I am actually surprised it isn't a bigger proportion of Switch owners to be honest.

Other than pack in games, I do wonder what the highest attach rate games are? Possibly an older game as their were far fewer games being released back in the day.

I'm glad I'm not the only one but this game just isn't grabbing me at all. It's the first time I am playing it, so no nostalgia at all, and it just feels like a slog.

I'm part way through Chapter 3, which some places say is the best chapter, and all that's happening is an easy fight, back to a room, easy fight with a weird requirement, back to a room. This is just going on for too long and is just tiresome.

It looks great, the music is fantastic and the characters are fun and varied but the gameplay and pacing shows its age I think.

I'll give it another crack eventually but I've swapped to playing through my backlog now. I'm currently playing through Tunic which is just fantastic.

I'm not trying to flame or anything just sharing my thoughts.

They have showed this in 2 different directs and both times I am just unimpressed. The art style is bizarre, there is no lip syncing, the Switch version is so blurry, the gameplay looks meh. It actually looks like an early PS3 game.

I think this game really is dead on arrival which is a real shame as I love the LOTR franchise. Or I used to at least. Since the Hobbit trilogy it really has been downhill.

I'd take a remaster of LOTR War in the North over anything released recently.

I really liked the first game, despite being horrible at it. I was interested in a sequel but it's even more difficult than the first AND double the price.

So unfortunately unless this gets a good discount, I'm out.

I see big chesticles on every female character and I immediately switch off. Completely unnecessary and makes most characters look so out of place.

@babyThorman It was absolutely on a PSOne demo disk.

Me and my brothers played that demo a ton but have never played the full game. We are all eagerly awaiting this new release.

For me personally, I always play in performance mode as I prefer the smooth gameplay of 60fps than the game looking pretty.

I've been hooked on the game ever since it debuted in an Indie Direct. I've been crabby ever since and have been itching for it to come out. I've seen reviews for the game on other platforms (solid 7's and 8s) but places don't seem to be very snappy with reviews for the Switch version.

A shadow drop of Another Crabs Treasure a week early would be welcomed. Otherwise there isn't anything on my radar I can name right now.

No Rest for the Wicked (from the Ori developers) looks like a blast but that is only just going into early access so I'm not actually expecting anything here.

Otherwise I'll carry on playing FF7 Rebirth and waiting for the Switch 2

And the day before release, it gets delayed for another 3 months.

I really shouldn't be surprised at this point, but somehow I am.

Pentiment for me for that price. I don't know much about it but I've heard that's the best way to experience it anyway.

@BodkinDQ The lack of love for FFX on here is disturbing. I am pretty bias however considering FFX is my all time favourites game a D I really hope the remake rumours are true.

I've only tried the first game on the DS, but that was an absolute blast. I've been looking forward to this for a while so I hope it's good.

I'll be downloading the beta but knowing me, it'll go unplayed. Oops

The original TCG on the Gameboy is my favourite. Completed it many times on various systems and have fun every time.

Pokémon Conquest is otherwise my favourite.

Pokémon Duel was the best mobile game for sure and I was sad when it ended

@Clammy Weird comment considering Mario Wonder was legitimately a very good game.

I did really like Valiant Hearts but man do I wish Child of Light had a sequel. CoL is a top 3 all time game for me and I really want more of the world, characters, music and gameplay.

Just checked my Switch and it has indeed disappeared. I even had it in my WishList but nope, gone.

I did play Rise back when it came out but put it down after quite a while. The discount right now on the eShop is tempting me back in however.

The base game and Sunbreak for £16.49 sounds like a steal for the hundreds of hours on offer.

I didn't know anything about this game before the Direct but the style definitely grabbed me. Glad to read it's very good and presents great value for £15.

It's on my wishlist and is a game I'll get to once I get FF7 Rebirth completed.

Fantastic announcement. My and my brother's played a LOT of this back in the day. 64 player online means I'll probably get it on my PS5 so I can play with them.

Checking the eshop though and £31.49 is a very steep price for this. Sure there are servers but I was expecting £24.99 at most.

I noticed Floppy Knights was on its biggest sale to date and I just had to pick it up.

Strategy, card based RPG with those beautiful graphics, yes please.

This really puts into perspective what a monster MK8D really is sales wise. No wonder they decided on DLC for the game instead of fracturing the fan base with a 9th entry. Bravo.
