Loved launch and glad I picked up the pro controller along with BotW

The Switch has definitely been my favourite console in my lifetime and hopefully the Switch 2 carries that momentum.

I'd imagine we'll get more detail for this in PlayStation's first State Of Play for the year. It'll then get shown again in Nintendo's February Direct.

I am interested, but definitely waiting for reviews first

6 months!? Jeez. Unfortunately it is a game I also put down and just never picked back up again. I did the first dungeon and that's as far as I got.

At least this year has been jam packed with top tier videogames and I shouldn't feel as guilty for leaving this on the back burner.

Definitely looking forward to this after playing FIFA 18 for quite a few (hundred) hours. I obviously never really had a reason to get the latest version on Switch.

@Tyranexx To be fair if they are going tk have to do it to be able to sell the product in the EU, it is highly likely the batteries will be replacement worldwide. Its far easier to just design the one product then to make different variants for each region.

However there would be no obligation to sell the batteries separately in the US.

This story reminds me of the upgraded battery for the Wii U. It did feel a bit cheeky of Nintendo to do it, but I suppose having the option was appreciated.

I wish the stand didn't have the 4 on it, to make it just Pikmin branded, but I may go for this.

@Bret Nonsense they released the best colours they could possibly release back in October 2019 (Purple and Orange)

These pastel colours do look nice. I'd grab a double set of the pastel purple if I could.

TotK has beaten out Hogwarts legacy by 54% despite that game being released on 5 different platforms and having been out for 3 months on 3 of them. 0.o wow

TotK is going to be a monster in a year of some top quality titles.

I commend them for carrying on with the game, but at this point why not just cancel?

The Switch is clearly struggling to handle the game and even further tweaks are required from what we have on PS4 and Xbox One.

Most people that will have wanted to play the game will have played it and moved on by the time the Switch version releases.

I do wish they'd add a "Buy all" button to these things. It's a little bit of a chore to go through each one and select, buy then confirm.

The advert did come up on my Youtube feed and I did feel like it is a really well done advert. Other than the complete savagery of the person playing on the bus, with the sound on and not having headphones on. No one likes that person. Don't be that person.

@Olliemar28 I think the top 40 is more useful as the top 10 al;ways includes the same games every single week (Looking at you Minecraft, FIFA and GTA).

It also gives us more shocks like NS Sports somehow being at number 11 on the chart

Sure it's expensive for what are 30 year old games but the amount of gaming here is absurd. I can't wait to give FF5 another go and to play FF6 for the first time.

@1UP_MARIO This is a good way of putting it, so bravo. Sure everyone likes to own something but some things are an experience and in our capitalist society, you need to pay for experiences for them to continue to be offered.

Apex Legends is a good example for me. I play it at least twice a week with my brother and probably put at least 5 hours in a week. Because of the good times i was having I felt the devs deserved some money towards their battle pass. As I played it enough I have not paid for a battle pass since as I get enough credits from the pass to buy the next one.

I have enjoyed many, many hours of gaming for the £8 (or so) I spent 4 years ago buying that pass. No other game has come close to hours per pound spent.

This is giving me massive Rayman on PSOne vibes. I'll keep an eye on this one for sure, despite pixel art platformers being done to death at this point.

@KingMike I bought Pokemon Conquest here in the UK. It is a good game and I am still holding out for a sequel.

Any idea why the pro controller has one white grip? It just looks so out of place.

Such a terrible business decision

These always seemed a bit overpriced for what they were, so I welcome this bundle. Hopefully a physical edition is released at some point.

I am always willing to try out new kart racers. There have only been two I have played that have come close to Mario Kart though and that is Crash Team Racing and Sonic and Sega AllStars.

This is a very hard sell at that price point. Yes I understand it is a founder's thing and it will eventually be free to play but when the Switch already has (probably) the greatest kart racer of all time in MK8D, other games need to price themselves accordingly.

I do want to try this, but not at the £28.99 minimum price.

I definitely expected at least one of these to be on Switch by now. Sad times

This has been a mess. How have they managed to keep adjusting the date when I would've thought organising a global release would be hard enough as it is?

@andyg1412 2023 is shaping up to be the best year in gaming across the whole industry regardless of platform.

The pandemic pushing a lot of projects back has given us a year with plenty of heavy hitters (certainly for Switch and PS5 anyway, I do not follow Xbox news)

I am looking forward to the release of Echoes as that is the only one in the Prime Trilogy that I have not played. I loved Corruption on the Wii.

Definitely going to get the physical for this game. I am hoping 2 and 3 come out at points during this year as welll so I can get up to speed on the series.

I remember really enjoying 3 on the Wii but never got round to playing the others.

Just locked in a preorder for £49 just in case the UK retailers up it by £5. I definitely expect some sorta limited edition to be announced however

@DarkTron It is a slow news time for Nintendo so I can see why it has been done. We are all eagerly awaiting the Feb/Mar Direct to really show what this year has in store for us fans.

@RobTheIII It does probably depend on why she plays Emblem. All the reviews I see say it is the best game in the series in terms of the actual combat, what you can do, character upgrades etc. but everything else has regressed from Three Houses.

I have enjoyed my time with it so far but I do agree the characters (at least up to chapter 10) are a bit meh and I do not care for the bond sequences. The mobile game elements have also creeped in with gacha mechanics and mundane tasks to do in the main hub after every mission.

@HalloHerrNoob Whilst you are right, 30% is a lot, there is other context at play for why it's sales are stunted.

The main reason will be that the UK is currently in a cost of living crisis and many people simply cannot afford the luxury of videogames right now. To see Engage do so well is actually very surprising.

Three Houses also launched in late July, which seems to be the golden time to release RPGs as people have time off over summer. Releasing a game so soon after Christmas does not seem as wise.

Got back into Dicey Dungeons this week after getting frustrated and putting it down a few months ago. Maybe I've grown more intelligent, or I've got out of bad habits as I seem to be breezing through the levels so far. Yes I realise it could just be a lot of good fortune.

I bought FE ENgage on a whim yesterday thanks to the steller reviews and eeing it online for a good price. That won't come to Monday however so I'll probably dabble with some Sparks of Hope until I wait for FE. Unfortunately Sparks of Hope has not grabbed me like the first one did.

Another game to look forward to in February. Oh my.

I just bought FE Engage due to the positive reviews and will now add this to my list of "February games I should probably not buy and wait for my birthday but will inevitably buy anyway"

@flightsaber Potentially not quite 20% with some people owning multiple consoles but it is staggering for sure.

On one hand I'm not surprised Pokemon has done really well. On the other I am disappointed that Game Freak have let us down time and time again and the games still sell like hot cakes.

Kaizen is very much a principle that is not being seen with the Pokemon franchise and with these numbers there is no reason for them to strive for it either.

£27 for a remaster of an Xbox Arcade game seems very steep. I am sure the developers have spent a lot of time making sure this runs flawlessly on the Switch but you can get some real modern greats for less than this.

I may pick it up if there is a deep sale but otherwise there is far too much else I need to play before the big hitters of 2023 start being released.

@mariomaster96 I don't think they did. The Switch console had surprisingly good discounts for Black Friday, so I think that contributed more so than Pokemon.
