I was saying this when they announced that there would be 3 stories to follow. Pokemon games have always had 3 stories and this is nothing new for the series.
I was gutted that this failed kickstarter and I didn't think it would see the light of day. I was very surprised to see the name change and for it to come put just after my birthday, and with a nice 20% discount.
Bought it with my birthday pennies but not actually booted it up yet
I was already excited to get this but this really does push it over the edge for me. Fantastic pack in and i hope they bring this to the VS in the future. With Capcom now on board i wonder if we could see a Sega collection next.
@Max_the_German The fact we still don't know makes me believe it is going to be a cloud version, despite what the developers may have said in the past.
Considering the Diamond and Pearl figures went MIA, I won't hold my breath for these, even if they are announced as a Nintendo Store and GAME exclusive here in the UK.
@dmcc0 Jungle Buzz was the most played between my brothers and I for sure. Elephant Baseball was by far the most competitive we ever got with a videogame ever. Good times
For anyone with fond memories of Buzz on the PS2 then I can recommend the Trivial Pursuit games. Unfortunately the rounds aren't as innovative as Buzz but the game style is similar enough that it is definitely worth the £6 asking price.
Just to put a dampener on things but Pokemon games have ALWAYS had 3 "storylines". It wouldn't surprise me if this is the same as those but a bit more fleshed out.
1) Beat the gyms - Beat the league 2) Stop the big bad team 3) Complete the Pokedex
They may surprise me but these are the three things I think the "storylines" revolve around.
Why are GameFreak STILL struggling with fram rates on the Switch? A lot of that trailer was painful to watch.
After saying all that, I'll probably still get sucked into buying on day 1
@Grumblevolcano Good points. I had forgotten about the time exclusive aspect of a battle pass.
But yes this game will for sure be battle passes and not a traditional season pass.
I think Halo Infinite is the only game that had battle passes that carried on even if you didn't complete the challenges before the next battle pass came out. That's what we need more of.
@Grumblevolcano What is the difference between a season pass and a battle pass in your eyes?
This is 100% a battle pass that their will be multiple of over the years all broken into specific seasons, hence the name season pass.
It'll certainly be funny if this free-to-play title is less predatory than Chocobo was as a full price title. I really don;t mind the season pass model as long as I am rewarded handsomely for completing the season pass and get the next season pass for "free" ala Apex Legends and Fortnite.
@liljmoore Agreed with you here. Definitely my favourite game of all time and X-2 was saved by its combat and job system, which is still the best job system in any FF game to date.
Literally finished this yesterday so this is a welcome surprise. Not sure if this will make me dive back in but we shall see. Definitely an under the radar game this.
@Mattock1987 "lootboxes are gambling and it’s the only form of gambling kids can regularly take part in"
Unfortunately this is where you are wrong. Lootbox mechanics have been around for far longer than gaming and have been used in toys (gacha machines and more recently blind bags), sweets (hidden collectables), trading cards and other things I am likely forgetting.
Sure lootboxes are probably the most predatory, but they are not the ONLY gambling children are exposed to.
@Axecon Really? I am surprised it is selling as well as it is. ALL reviews, quite rightly, blasted the game for the lack of content. Me and brothers bought it to make a team and play online but you can't even do that as you are only allowed to team up with one other console online. It is a fantastic game to play a match of but it is not worth anywhere near £35 and that makes me sad as Strikers Charged is up there as one of my Top 10 games of all time.
@LXP8 I know what you are saying, and I will assume you mean well, but the "worst type of gamers" are the ones that belittle what other people play.
Gaming is a very broad hobby in that you can be as casual or as hardcore as you like. There are many genres to experience and many ways to experience them (console, mobile, PC).
Just an FYI that Lego Star Wars went on offer everywhere for about £28, so that'll explain it shooting back up to number 1. Particularly with school holidays starting very soon.
Seeing Switch Sports so high is strange and hearing that Mario Strikers is holding on to the number 12 spot is disappointing. Certainly the worst two games that Nintendo have put out in a long while and yet they are still selling very well.
@Teksetter Counter point: tay-tay sounds doofy. Tate, like eight, makes much more sense when we already have words like mate and late in English. Oh and not forgetting the Tate Modern art gallery.
@Bobb I believe the European Courts ruled that consumers must be able to sell digital games. I can't see that has actually come to fruition so I imagine it is still held up by the businesses opposing the idea. it also may have been shelved but from a quick Google I can't find anything one way or the other.
In regards to NFTs I admit that I do not know as much as I should, simply because I find them baffling in their current form. I do believe they have a use but others have pointed me in the direction of other people far more knowledgeable than me that say otherwise. Consider me schooled.
All these comments about NFT's being bad for videogaming is sad to see.
For clarification i do not own any Crypto or NFTs and don't plan to right now.
NFTs as they are right now are bad. BUT NFT's, and the blockchain, allow people to actually own digital assets. This is relevant to videogames as you'll now own the game bought from the marketplace and can sell that game again in the future if you please. Physical media is dying and NFTs WILL become a part of gaming, at least the technology behind it all will.
@mariomaster96 Strange you say that because I really liked the FF7R combat system despite being a FF traditionalist and thinking I really wouldn't.
I am looking forward to this remake but will probably get it on PS4/5 as I can see the Switch version running okay, but obviously not as well as on the bigger boys.
Of the three I played I enjoyed the Distant Future the most, probably because it had the most mysterious story. The Japanese one was hard if you approached fights the wrong way and the China one was the easiest and most old school RPG like.
I am looking forward to the full game dropping next week and trying out the 5 other styles.
I imagine I'll complete the three already started in the demo before moving on. Probably Shinobi then Future then China.
Nice to know that Miss Chalice makes the game a bit easier for noobs like me that absolutely struggle on Normal and don't see the point in Easy when you can't complete the game.
Physical Mario & Rabbids for me. The first game was such a blast and the DK DLC was superb. The new features of a gridless combat and additional customisation (I think) with the Sparks adds an additional layer of complexity I think the game needed.
The turn around in opinion the game had from the pre-E3 leaks to when it was actually released was amazing to see.
@SteamEngenius I feel like MH is a fantastic multiplayer game and just an okay single player experience. This was my third MH game after MH1 on the PS2 and MH4 on the 3DS and my opinion of the game has not changed.
I like the monsters. I like the clunky combat. I just feel like traversing the map and fighting the guys on my own is a lonely experience. particularly if I need to do it 5 times to get a certain material. I can see the appeal, it's just not for me.
I still can't get over the random grind rails floating in the sky. i am going to guess that its the cyber-space leaking into the real world, but it needs an effect around it to make this more obvious. I am not expecting this to review well at all.
Never played these games before, even though I was a teenager when the orange box came out. Got them downloading right now ready to play tonight. Lets go.
Unfortunately I agree with these statements about Mario Strikers. Charged was one of my all time favourite games, and whilst I enjoy this new game, there is just nothing to really do.
I have finished all of the single player content and now I get to face off against real players who are in clubs to have fully optimized teams. sigh
@Mando44646 Whilst I agree with your theory I believe Live A Live and certainly Digimon Survive will get such a low print run that I don't think we'll really see any reductions on those titles.
Xenoblade 3 is definitely the most bang for your buck title of the three so it makes the most sense to prioritise.

Re: Bright Memory: Infinite's Crysis-Like Action Stuns In Release Date Trailer

This looks really well done and a fantastic price at £16.75

@DJDM Same here. I don't mind it not having an english dub but please let there at least be a volume slider for speech.
@Fizza It wasn't made clear until about 2/3 months ago that it was a visual novel with a sprinkling of strategy combat thrown in.
@Expa0 Bear in mind that this is a visual novel game first and a strategy RPG second.
