To be fair there is very little confidence in the videogame market as a whole right now. Xbox is as good as dead and the PlayStation and the Switch have very little interesting on the horizon right now. The industry is stagnant and no one can really see a way out.

It's going to be an interesting few years for sure.

Super Mario Wonder is also absent here. It was at 16m units sold at the end of last year. I don't believe its sold fewer than 3m units in this year placing it outside the top 10 Switch games and lower than NSMBUD

I am ready for the Partner Direct this week. Just announce it already Nintendo.

To be fair DQ11S and FF7R are keeping me busy for now, with RE9 dropping this month so I've got enough games to keep me busy until the summer. But hey ho, I'm a gamer who just loves to build a backlog for no reason.

I wish Nintendo could have slashed the price on the Switch to shift more units.

It really does deserve to be the greatest selling console of all time and probably would have been if Sony didnt keep moving the goalposts.

An expensive couple of months for me with RE Generations Pack, Mario Wonder and the new joy con (I am a sucker for purple).

I am actually expecting this game to come in the next 12 months and I am all for it when it does. I think the handheld play may push it into my top 5 games of all time. I love the characters, music and world but on top of all that Rebirth has more of the stories goofy moments and definitely more minigames. Some people preferred the more focused first game but I definitely preferred the goofy follow up. Bring it on!

I was reminded of this yesterday, when I was looking at Tamodatchi Life on the Switch.

That game has just been added in time to qualify for this promotion, so get in quick people if that is your vibe.

Full game on Switch 2 cart. We'll this is an easy Day 1 buy. Gotta support this practice where we can.

With the swathe of "saucy" cartoon games that hit the eshop every week, the censorship here is disappointing, but not really surprising.

I'd actually be interested to know how much money they actually make off these subs. We'll never know, but I can't imagine they make a lot.

Yes there is no option for analog triggers in handheld mode, yet.

I feel like there is a company or two that did produce some split GC controllers for the Switch 1 so it'll be interesting to see whether they do the same for Switch 2

£25 for all this sounds like quite a steal.

I havent played a proper racer in quite some time so I may grab this when it drops to have something different to play between all these RPGs that are coming out.

@DashKappei You can use the official Switch 2 GC controller in handheld no?

Im also fairly sure you can use the PowerA wireless GC controller in handheld.

If the issue is because most GC controllers are wired, a USB to USBC adapter into the top or bottom of the Switch 2 should allow you to plug in a wired controller in handheld mode.

The notification for this got me good.

I thought there was a fall blown direct this Thursday. Imagine my disappointment to open the notification to see its for one game that I do not care about.

@JohnnyMind No doubt the majority of sales are on Switch 2 and the game deserves it.

I am hyped out of my mind for Rebirth on the Switch 2. I loved the PS5 version and having it on the go may just push it into my top 5 games of all time.

Come on Nintendo, your turn to show us what the Switch 2 can is capable of.

@JohnnyMind I do not believe this to be true at all. Either there are sales that havent been recorded yet (could be possible if Sony and Microsoft report sales on a different day) or the split just isnt right.

FF7R would have also sold some on Xbox for sure and even maybe some again on PS5 with the new update that makes progression easier.

I did start DQ11S last week and have just gotten to Gondolia.

FF7R is in my Switch 2 now though and I'll be playing that for the 2nd time (after completing it the first time on the PS4).

So two big RPGs for me for the next few weeks/months.

@Ooccoo_Jr I did see this on the eShop and wishlisted it. It has launched with a 20% discount as well. I may watch some reviews to see if I should grab it now.

Its been the same every season so far to be fair.

@Pillowpants You don't "need" to. You can also gain every mega stone to date in the next season.

I wouldnt call Rebirth an open world game but a game of a lot of very large connected maps.

The third part will undoubtedly be open world however with the introduction of air travel.

I wonder if MonolithSoft might lend a hand with the Switch 2 development? Maybe not as it is a third party, but maybe Nintendo let them to really show everyone what the Switch 2 can do.

I do think we'll get Rebirth late this year or early next year with the 2rd part 18-24 months after that.

Yes Square want to move away from console exclusives but Sony will fight like anything to have the conclusion to the trilogy be an exclusive. Even if that is only 3 months or so.

@Tyranexx If you want to be baffled about selling something you dont possess then you should look into "shorting stocks".

Selling (an item you do not yet own) the stocks of a business (an item that doesn't tangibly exist) at today's prices (set by supply and demand) with the promise of buying those same stocks back later, hoping for a price drop and thus profiting. Profiting all from something that doesnt really exist and you never owned.

I loved the games on the DS but I cant justify paying £60 on a digital release. The cancellation of all physical copies of this game, even Japanese, was a disappointment and means Ill probably never get this game unless it ever goes on a 50% sale

@RupeeClock Humans are, at a baseline, awful selfish creatures. And unfortunately, no amount of rules or restrictions will stop people if they truly want to be awful or selfish.

I would very much doubt this sold for £1,000.

1) It was £1k or Best Offer

2) There are many other listing's under £600

3) It could just be a fake sale at £1k to try and drive up the price.

Either way its still very much available for £600. BUT saying all this, it will happen and the big set for the starters will become quite a sought after set once discontinued.

@sikthvash There is a clause for this but it allows a seller to pre sale an item, as long as it is shipped within 8 weeks. So this is all okay, per the T's and C's

The price puts it at the exact same price as the PS5 and Series X versions of the game. I.e. the price it would have been if it had come out at release.

Im not sure who's fault it is that we would have to wait 6 months for the Switch 2 physical edition but at least it is actually happening.

Why would they include paid DLC when it is so recently released?

@RobTheIII You are so so wrong. Yes they are yearly releases, but each one has new mechanics or completely changes some old mechanics so it feels like a different game, despite the overall experience leading the player to the same gameplay beats on the surface.

You may only notice some things if you are hard-core into the franchise, but I promise you they are there.

But enough about FIFA, Pokemon is just a lazy cash grab at this point

PS5: Astrobot - My main game right now. Got it for Christmas and loving it. Currently at 200/301 robots and I dont want it to end.

Switch 2- Ball x Pit - Got about 30 hours played and definitely on the wind down now. It has been a blast.

DQ11S - Deleted my old save file from ages ago and thought I give this a proper good go again. My brother loves this game so I thought I'd put time into this instead of Prime 4 which Ive bounced off of.

@Rhaoulos I'm not sure where you are based but there are a few retailers selling the Japanese only Switch 2 Physical Release.

PlayAsia is one that ships worldwide. If you are UK based then Bazaar Bazaar has it in the country already.

@springer17 Thats a really nice idea. The A, B, X, Y buttons could have purple font with the directional buttons on the other side having green arrows.

If anyone could mock that up and show it off Im interested in seeing it.

My November born newborn will get to learn Mario through all this.

I do hope the UK does this stuff as I genuinely will be purchasing most of it
