@WallyWest It kinda depends what you want out of a Pokemon game. Sure if you just want new mons, new gym leaders and new characters then S&S did exactly that. However S&S fell woefully short on story, was the most linear game to date, was the shortest game to date, and was the easiest game to date.

I don't want to start a Gen war but I personally feel that Gen V was the height of the series and all generations before V are better than any generations after it.

Sorry but why is there an Arc phone? Have I missed this in previous trailers?

Apricorn style pokeballs, new Voltorb version, no vehicles to speak of and yet the god of Pokemon has bestowed upon the main character a phone. Whut?

@jcvandan MH Rise has dreadful graphics? Sure its not 4k 120FPS but I wouldn't say it's graphically dreadful. I know it's not saying much but it's definitely the best looking game on Switch no question.

And as expected they ran okay on my decent Internet, but the occasional stutter is jarring and completely takes you out of the moment. Square Enix please, please, please pay someone to port these games properly as there is a massive fan base that will buy this for the portability alone.

I'm really torn on this. I have the collection on PS4 that I bought in the sale for about £25 but I just don't get the TV enough to actually sit down and play them. The Switch is the perfect platform for me to actually play through this series.

HOWEVER, them being cloud based is a massive turn off. I think I'll give the demos a go, but I'm not expecting it to run that well. Just give me the collection physically for £100 and you'll have my money easily. (Even if the third one had to be a cloud based version)

Being from Peterborough I thought I would have heard of this but nope. Great idea and from the reviews it seems to work well. I may give this a go in the future.

I am not going to pretend to know the first thing about NFT's (I've tried and it just does not make any sense to me) but this was always going to happen in an unregulated marketspace. I wouldn't even want to try and figure out if this is legal. At least the law will be brought up to 2022 with situations like this and them having to act and update the rules.

@iLikeUrAttitude This is far from fair use and he would easily lose in a court of law. It you look at the legal factors that would allow a "fair use" defence this mod loses on every single one of them.

Small or large use of the original works? This is the most debatable but I would say it uses a large portion of the original works. The gameplay amd graphics are the same and to anyone not in the know this is BotW. Someone may purchase the game expecting this content to be in the game.

Effect upon market? This mod encourages piracy to obtain and play the mod. This involves the illegal modification of hardware to play the modification on a game that the user may not originally own.

@reporterdavid I fully believe this is what it is being held back for. The Switch had BotW. The Switch 2 will have MK9. The Switch 2 will sell out before launch if it was the only way to play MK9.

At what point do they stop and just make a sequel? This has to be the most generous development cycle ever right?

Nope, don't like these sorta patents. I thought i had read that a judge had ruled against these sorta patents, declaring that a game itself can be patented but not its mechanics, but maybe I am wrong.

@Specter_of-the_OLED That would be far too expensive for anyone that isn't a die hard physical collector with far too much money to burn. CD's back in the day made sense as EVERYTHING was on a CD. I think even DVDs worked, but I may be wrong. Whilst I understand what you are saying, the magic is lost with a list, it is just not possible in this day and age.

@somebread It is for sure a love/hate thing with the battle system. I really enjoyed it back in the day so I'm hoping I like it again here.

Sorry to be that guy but Monster Rancher 2 was released in Europe. It was just called Monster Rancher over here as we never got the first game.

Loved playing MR back in the day so I'll definitely be picking this up. Now I just need the original Digimon World on Switch and my PS1 nostalgia will be complete.

Glad to see I didn't waste my money pre ordering this but then I might not get round to it until after Pokemon so it was kinda silly to pre order.

The main gripe I have seen in some other reviews are the massive text boxes that appear during combat. I can't see any mention of that here though. Still scoring 7's and 8's across the board and is something that can easily be tweaked with a patch.

To be fair if they went the digital only route and released each one slowly for say £20 a pop I'd be down for that.

That is actually a pretty good idea. I wonder whether they'll sell it in a bundle of some kind as I haven't picked up a set yet but this dongle makes it much more appealing.

Detective Pikachu was cool, not sure it was cool enough to watch again, but Sonic I really did not like. Nothing much seemed to happen and it had way too many pop culture references that some "jokes" will age poorly.

Hopefully the second film makes it feel more sonic and not just a typical getaway film with a talking hedgehog.

This game is receiving middling reviews everywhere, and considering how stacked the Switch lineup is to close out the year, this game will easily pass me by. Shame really as I do love FF.

Just want to say that this is just MK8 with a Square Enix skin. The start up animation of showing the track screams MK8 even down to the timing of changing what it is showing you. This just seems like a lazy cash grab, but then I wasn't really that interested in it anyway despite my love of Square franchises.

@TYRANACLES Bazaar Bazaar is the retailer I use, assuming you are in UK. Works about the same price as PlayAsia BUT you don't pay until it is dispatched.

The physical for this is twice as expensive as digital, but if it is as good as the reviews suggest I think it'll be worth it.

Definitely going in on the physical version of this. It's looking like it could be my favourite game of the generation.

If the V2 model really got a £50 price cut then I, and I imagine many others, will cancel their OLED preorder and just get a V2. Not worth paying an extra £100 for OLED and a better stand.

More detail? Those rocks definitely look better in the original trailer. I have to say I'd rather they hadn't upped the detail as it just looks so blurry. In my opinion the original trailer looks more cartoonish and a better representation of the series than what we have now.

@ShadJV I thought the same. It reeked of a copy and paste job but then the Cyndaquil line makes no sense as the first gym in Johto is Flying, not Rock, Ground or Water.

@anoyonmus Arceus certainly looked way better than it did the last time we saw it. Still a little blurry but the frame rate was much improved and it is looking like its a Breath of the Wild Pokemon with the Final Fantasy X battle system thrown in for good measure. I am thoroughly excited for it.

BDSP however looked worse to me. The animations were better but the game looked a bit blurry and it still had frame issues. I am still going to get it but boy do I wonder what the Pokemon Company are doing wrong to not be able to use the system properly.

Whilst I liked anime style and the idea of a card game, ultimately the game itself put me off during the demo. There is just a massive mis-match between the anime graphics and the card art that it feels like a completely different game. I am also not drawn to heartstone likes so maybe that dissuaded me from picking this up.

This has been on my radar since it appeared in a Direct many moons ago. Since then though these trailers look a bit janky and it seems a bit expensive. Willing to wait for reviews on this one. Hopefully the turn based nature of the game means that not too many downgrades were necessary to get in running on Switch.

Not sure we needed another Attacker first. Blastoise (Defender) or Clefable (Support) would have balanced out the roster a bit better. But a new character is always welcome I suppose.

But it does come physical. Sure the box is in Japanese but the game can be played in English. It's currently £70 over here in the UK so the £50 digital price is actually quite tempting

A fantasy themed Battalion Wars Sign me right up for that. I really hope Battalion Wars gets a re-release at some point because it really was a gem.

The only MOBA I have played in the past is the LOTR one on the PS3. I had a good time with that so I am willing to give this Pokemon variant a go.

@Xiovanni Yeah this was exactly my thought process as well. The card game in this seems so far detached from the anime presentation that it just doesn't make sense. The card game maybe be good underneath but the disconnect was certainly a turn off.

I'm much more interested in Chrono Faction even thought the card game in that looks a bit odd.

@MojoBones To be fair with it being a card game the first question will always be does it have micro transactions. The trailer also has a gacha machine which again could mean microtransactions. I am glad you have been transparent about it.

This looks very interesting. Colour me intrigued.

The only Zelda game on a home console that I have never played. Until next week that is.

My expectations are in check as it has a lot of haters but I hope the tweaks they do reduce the hand holding significantly and the button controls will be easier to play than the motion controls.
