Dragon Quest seems the most likely, following the success of DQ11 they probably want to milk it a bit more with the older games in the franchise.

My google-fu did find that Pandemonium! is apparently a Square franchise. Now that I would like to see remade.

@RareFan Well hopefully the 20 minute run time keeps things focused and it feels like there is more killer and not just filler (looking at you the latest Direct)

That actually doesn't look that bad. I've signed up to be notified when it goes live, but I imagine all of this will be scalped anyway.

Did this appear in an indie world once? It looks familiar for some reason.

30 levels for £13.49 seems a bit steep but the gameplay does look decent. Definitely one to wait on reviews and see.

Miitopia and SSHD are both ports and will be handled by third parties. Sure Nintendo will consult but they shouldn't be considered "first party"

SSBU and AOC Calamity are again third party games which Nintendo consult on. DLC also does not need anywhere near the man power of a new release.

The Animal Crossing update is welcome, but seems pretty minor, unless there was something I missed.

Are Camelot considered Nintendo first party? Either way Mario Golf did look decent. I concede not my cup of tea though.

I don't know enough about Famicom Detective Club to make any judgement. Videogame novels have a very niche market though.

Splatoon 3 and the joy con were welcome however.

@Friendly The Direct not containing enough Nintendo is exactly the problem with it I feel. What have they been doing for the last year and a half?

Now was the time to take centre stage again with the PS5 and Xbox now out but unavailable to purchase, and they blew it really. Triangle Strategy was the only new game to intrigue me and that sin;t out until next year. sigh

I hope the Pokemon one brings us the goodies.

This is the first I have seen of this game and it looks fantastic.

The voice acting on the other hand just doesn't seem to gel. I can't quite put my ears on it but maybe it just seems like the characters have the wrong sort of voice. Either way this is one I am looking forward to on my PS4 now.

Very mixed reviews for this. Maybe that's what happens with roguelikes unless they are top tier (e.g. Dead Cells and Hades)

Has Been Heroes got very mixed reviews and I love that game. I'll give this a go at some point, quicker if/when it goes on sale.

@TeslaChippie I agree with you, but because this would be a mid cycle revision, they could limit the docked performance so that all Switch's have the same docked performance. This would make marketing Switch games so much easier than having to put a "only works on Switch Pro" or "Switch pro enhanced" sticker on the box.

Limiting the docked performance in this way makes sense. Also reduces the need to allow the fans and cards to overclock.

Balan Wonderworld as a full price title is laughable. The demo is beyond shoddy and has probably turned away quite a few potential buyers because of it.

Anyway, Mario and MHR for me over the next two months. Hopefully a Switch pro in a few months as well

@Abes3 It depends what you expect to be in a Pro model. I am expecting and hoping for a Pro model that can push the same visuals on the tablet as it can on a TV. That's it. That would appease the people that want the best visuals all the time and means that games will not need specifically tweaking for the new model.

A reduced bezel and a better battery life would be icing.

The lack of an english dub is the only thing holding me back from getting both this and the first game in the series. A shame really as I do like JRPG's. Good thing I have DQ11 to keep my company for a while.

Never got round to finishing this on the Wii U but I think the handheld side of the Switch will make sure I do.

However I've recently started DQ11, thanks to the New Year sale, and I don't see myself putting that down any time soon. I've still got Mario preordered though for that sweet steelbook.

Roll on the year of Zelda / Pokemon though because those are two series I enjoy more than Mario (well Pokemon is slipping somehwat but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt at least for now).

I already have the base game, but not actually played it yet (whoops), but I was looking at getting the DLC at a discount. I can't see the Bad Seed at 30% off on the UK eshop though...

I'm interested in a console MOBA as the LotR one on the PS3 is the only MOBA i have ever played and i had decent fun on that, despite its short life and constant network issues.

Tencent aside this game doesn't look that deep but it could be good as a time filler. What I didn't understand from the initial reveal is why some Pokemon have to evolve to get to their final form whereas others like Lucario and Talonflame, do not. Just seems like complete fan service to me.

But NLG are a great developer with a great pedigree of titles. LM3 was good but not great so I hope the Nintendo acquisition gives them more development power, either manpower or funding, to really make their next game something special.

I bought DQ11 at that price and whilst I have only played an hour, I think I am going to enjoy it. Turn based RPG's have provided me with many memories and I think this will add to those. Lets see if its as good as people say and it may crack into my Top 10 all time.

Otherwise I already bought Fenyx physically for £25 and have completed most of the others on this list. The Switch is far an away my favourite console of all time and I'm really hoping there is a 1.5 model released this year so I can replace my launch day old man.

This is not the sort of game I would expect from the joint venture of Steamworld and Stick it to the Man. Sure it has quirky humour but doesn't seem to have the charm of its predecessors.

Interested in this purely to see if I enjoy the gameplay enough to buy the physical version. The theme isn't drawing me in but the gameplay and graphical beauty make me keep looking at it as a potential purchase.

@JHDK Same here. My launch day console is still going strong but the fans can get loud at times so I think it is about ready for an upgrade. All I am expecting is a 1080p screen, the improved battery and to push the TV visuals to the handheld. If it can do that, I'll be happy until Switch 2 comes out in 2024.

I am genuinely looking forward to Lets Go Johto (gotta be coming in 2021 or 22 right?) as these games were a breath of fresh air compared to the staleness of the mainline games. Sure they are very casual, but it certainly had the most charm of any recent Pokemon game.

@The_Pixel_King Possibly simply to insert some code so that the save files can be used with the physical release coming soon. they may have fixed some bits here and there as well in preparation for the new release.

The game already played well so I can't imagine there would be much to fix.

May have to give this a go then. I have heard good things from various sources and I like myself a good puzzle game.

Switch Pro 2021 release confirmed!

Joking aside it's good to see Nintendo allowing these promotions to push the Switch into more homes before the PS5 and Series X/S are all the talk this Christmas. I really am looking forward to a new Switch model next year though. The fans on my launch model now sound like they are taking off more times than not.

100% agree with the 8/10. Great game that was clearly designed for PC, hence some bits being busy and hard to follow on the small screen, but is a great turn based rogue-lite regardless.

This has no reason to be called Super Met Boy and I expect a lawsuit will shortly follow. It just screams of laziness to copy something so trivial as a name.

On the other hand the game does actually look interesting as a time waster/filler. It could really carve out is own niche and should do away with the blatant name rip off.

@BenAV I just watched a review for each of these games and Crown Trick was given a 9/10 and Ring of Pain an 8/10. Looks like a couple of gems from the reviews that are out so far.

@TheFox Exactly this. The he is already confirmed to have a season pass so "in-game purchases" would cover this. Whether there are other cosmetic items we'll just have to wait and see. No need to jump on the hate band wagon without giving it a chance

The latest partner direct was certainly better than the others before it.

It actually looks pretty nice and I like the colours. Weirdly the pictures make the left con look orange from the front but yellow from the back. Very odd.

The Switch is now over 3 years old so nintendo will definitely have started piecing together the Switch 2. This feels more of an indication of the Switch 2's potential than a Switch Pro in my opinion. I do want a Switch Pro but I'm not expecting anything more than 1080p supported handheld play.

@Clyde_Radcliffe Depends if you are a digital only gamer. The physical can be picked up for £34.99 from Currys, so the saving is pretty negligible.

That Digerati bundle is calling out to me this week. I haven't purchased any of the other bundles before but this one has a couple of games that I've looked at before but just never got round to purchasing.

I was going to pick this up anyway but this review just reinforces that picking it up is a good idea.

Faeria for me I think this week. I always like a good card game and this one gets great reviews on other platforms. It has a decent amount of single player content to work through as well so will still provide value even if the online is dead.

Well this got me interested enough to check out pre order prices and i managed to find it for £23. Seems like it could be worth a shot at almost half the price of Pokemon.

Only just finished the river boat first section after the Water Vellumental. I think I have a ways to go until I experience these bugs, but I suppose they are good to be aware of.

You seemed to have missed The Witcher 3 off the list despite it being in the thumbnail. Unless, of course, I am blind. Surely that game is the pinnacle of Switch ports?

It just looks like all round fun. i have always been a fan of puzzle games so the battle system intrigues me. With a bit of luck I may be playing it tomorrow evening...
