Sounds really expensive for trials and a few gems. Not too sure who would buy this considering long time players will have unlocked most of the characters already.

The last time this happened there was a Direct announced last minute right before.

I don't see that happening this time. Maybe one was planned but they didn't have enough to show off and just gave us the XB3 and Splatoon news separately.

But also it's Nintendo. Switch Pro to be confirmed this Thursday. Book it.

Offering additional flexibility is always good, one of the few good things to come out of the pandemic.

But only offering an 80% week is kinda baffling. Why not allow those staff members to work an extra 2 hours each day and have a 100% week over 4 days?

Will I be picking this up? As it is free, yes. It does look better than Chocobo GP and I did like that game despite it's obvious flaws. Glad I didn't purchase the full game though.

Not surprising that the Switch is the top selling version of Lego SW considering the install base and the target market of the game.

Weird to see FIFA22 in second place considering how old that game is now (for a FIFA game). Has it gone on a decent sale somewhere?

HOW is GTAV still in the top 10 though? Who doesn't have this game who was already interested? Does it just keep selling to kids or something? Much like Minecraft does.

@RiasGremory I'm probably going to get myself in trouble for saying this but classing a game with excessive cartoon cleavage as "mature" is pretty laughable. In fact the way XC2 did it is pretty immature.

The Witcher series is a game with mature nudity. Xenoblade 2 is not and is complete fanservice.

£17.99 for a 4 hour game seems quite steep so the 50% discount is welcome but should probably be the retail price anyway.

Looks like an improvement over XC2 for sure. I liked XC2 but it didn't grab me and will me to play through again. Hopefully this next one is the one that clicks for me.

If they decide to throw in characters with the some bodily proportions as Pyra/Mythra/Dhalia then I am done.

What are Nintendo avoiding at the end of the year to push BOTW2 to next year and pull this forward to July?

Switch Sports is the first game on Switch to use the AMD image upscaling. Couldn't this just be BOTW2 using that and being the showpiece for the technology?

Oh wow, that is unexpected. I think it would look significantly better without the game logo on both ends. Love myself a freebie which will probably cover half the cost of the game when I come to sell it.

As stated above almost 30% of Switch owners would consider game pass if Activision was added. This is almost 1/3.

The double rounding to get up a 1/3 from a 1/4 just doesn't sit well with me.

TBH this is me just making a mountain out of a molehill. If they do add Activision to gamepass then gamepass would provide so much value it would be insane. I would imagine the price would rise however.

@Ventilator What about Crash Bandicoot, both for platforming and kart racing? No one is going to recreate Mario 1:1 because then what is the point? Sonic All Star Racing and All Star Racing Transformed were also very good kart racers.

@Expa0 It was in the last direct. The only one we have had this year so far. Makes sense you missed it though because that direct had a LOT of very good announcements. This F2P Kart racer would easily be lost in the mix.

@Guitario But you can still use the car. Providing you purchased the key that originally came with the car and don't try and use a modern key that was never designed to fit that car.

@MinatoYuki In all honesty JRPG's are far too slow and complex for the average gamer, baring in mind the average gamer is more casual than any of us on a gaming website. FIFA and COD are far more straight forward to just bang in the console and away you go. Also those games have online elements so you can go and wreck your friends. Can't do that in most JRPGs.

@doodlewhizz Weird to see Wii Fit and not Wii Sports. Do all the bundled sales of Wii Sports not count as sales for the game? Then you have the Wii U version and the (soon to be released) Switch version.

@Balladeer I wouldn't be surprised to see FIFA dominate all over Europe. Possibly COD as well. FIFA and COD are very much social games but they are seen as cool and therefore sell very very well. I don't see much wrong with their popularity.

@Mattock1987 I wouldn't call buying a FIFA or COD game a stupid decision but everyone is allowed their own opinion.

This is like a dream game for me and I can't wait to see more. If there is some sort of special physical edition for this then I'll be all over it like a rash. Please be good.

@LUIGITORNADO Mario Strikers and Splatoon both release in the summer. Fair enough if you don't like those games but I'd argue you're backlog will probably be ballooning come summer time.

@Silly_G Apologies then. I haven't seen any UK retailers taking pre orders and Amazon US is the only one I have heard of that is. I just find the whole thing odd that they have quietly announced it is coming to Switch, but then not confirming how. If Nintendo are holding it back so they can announce it in a direct then it seems odd that the developers would even mention it now.

It just all feels weird. I really want it to come to Switch properly I am just keeping my expectations in check.

@Silly_G @Arawn93 Amazon USA are currently the ONLY retailer listing a physical Switch version. It's been a few days since that announcement and no one else has put up a pre order yet. This could absolutely be Amazon jumping the gun and assuming it will be physical.

Of course I would love it to be a physical release but one retailer (no matter how big) does not prove it exists. If it was not Cloud based they have zero reason to not be up front about this. The fact they haven't provided a definitive answer means that either it is Cloud based or they are struggling to port it and it will arrive in 2023, which would be a okay.

@darkswabber I assume you mean Xbox exclusives because there are some multiplat games on this list?

For the Exclusives though these are always part of Gamepass so there are significantly reduced "sales" for Xbox exclusives as many owners will be getting them for "free"

I'd imagine it'll go live the same time everywhere. Saves the confusion of the tracks being available via online multiplayer until your region says you can now play it offline.

I signed up to be notified when this launched as I was very interested to wrap up my shiny new OLED model. Seeing the price though made me immediately ignore.

Well these missions have had the benefit of me going back and playing the mobile games. I've now completed Mario Run (which I don't remember purchasing) to get all the coins. Next up is FE Heroes.

Anyway I back this on KS and was gutted when it got no traction. Glad to see it back though and i am very much looking forward to it.

And 2022 is shaping up to be a pretty brutal year for everyone in terms of the price of lifes essentials. Despite the big releases coming this year I can see this being a down year for videogame sales.

Definitely glad I didn't pre order this. The Lite version is enough to show me that this game just isn't worth it. It looks like a mobile game with its multiple currencies but worse than that, th online has so many disconnects that it just isn't worth the time and effort.

A shame because I like the charm of the game but this should tank hard. I don't see Square fixing anything with it though as it probably won't be worth the time or effort.

Just watched the trailer again and the world map absolutely looks like Russia invading the EU and Britain has to save the day. Not very sensitive of the world we currently find ourselves living in.
