A Nintendo spokesperson confirmed in an interview with Vooks months before the console released that "...physical versions of Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will include the original Nintendo Switch game and its upgrade pack all on the same game card"

I own some first party Switch 2 games on cart, and there was no prompt to download the upgrade pack when the game was first booted up.

If the previous poster's contention is simply that the data on the Switch 2 cart contains a Switch 1 game and the upgrade pack then that's really splitting hairs. This arrangement is what allows Switch 2 Edition carts to be played on Switch 1 consoles after all. A fully integrated Switch 2 only cartridge would only result in less benefit to end users

@Sindayl You've misread the update. It means if you load up Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (that's the name of the Nintendo Switch 1 version) on your Nintendo Switch 2 console then you'll be presented with the option for the upgrade path for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

You're ascribing motive where there is none. This isn't a deliberate attempt at representation or highlighting marginal groups. Nintendo are game developers. Wheelchair basketball just happened to be the perfect vehicle for showcasing dual Mouse mode tech as well as the ability to seemlessly switch between Mouse Mode for traversal and traditional motion controls when throwing or dunking

Realistically, first party support for the Nintendo Switch 1 is going to dry up in the next 12 months as Nintendo transitions to a new platform. Hence the decision to discontinue the Game Voucher program.

More like MiG Cart users, or should I say, pirates, are creating a problem for secondhand Switch 2 buyers. They are the ones failing to read the user agreement, actively bricking the system, and then returning them in a damaged state.

For their part, retail stores need to run a simple online verification check before accepting returns on Switch 2 consoles

Watch people pin this on tired adages like "Nintendo fans don't buy third-party games" or the lack of launch reviews, or Game-Key Cards, when it's more to do with the elevated price of Switch 2 ports coupled with the cost of living crisis leading to predictably economical behaviour from consumers that don't have the disposable income to fork out for more on top of the purchase of a new console and Mario Kart World.

I'm glad the Survival Kids Switch 2 reboot exists but it's a shame they've turned it into a colourful, cosy, casual fast-paced co-op game. It's lacking the bleakness of Survival Kids / Lost in Blue.
