@StarCollector This. These roster additions amount to little more than skins slapped on a pre-existing rigged model, and as a result, lack cohesion with the game world, and don't properly reflect the characters behaviour, personality, movements, and look in the way they do in Smash Bros.
@Brumblescope I can't stand it either. The worst of them are for Nintendo Life's own video content, which take over a third of the screen and autoplay to pad out the viewing figures. It's cynical and makes for a worse experience on mobile.
@darylb24 I wouldn't applaud the article tbh. Not everyone has the Bubbly Basin DLC, so a consummate and thorough article would detail both methods for obtaining the Portal Pod recipe. Frankly, this is a sub-par guide.
@FrylockJ oh look, a troll who gets their kicks from aggravating people with tropey anti-Nintendo prejudice they've wilfully been brainwashed with in some online echo chamber that feeds their warped bias confirmation habit.
@MrHonest Would it be okay if American right-wing politics were being shoved in your face instead? Oh wait, they 'are' being shoved in all of our faces non-stop, every single day, by Tango Hitler and the news media. In your case, you've clearly swallowed the koolaid. Take your hate someplace else.
What a non-story. Everyone and his pet Poochy knows Nintendo are "considering" a Switch 2 OLED revision behind closed doors. We all know they are "considering" a Switch 2 Lite, care to print that as well?
@NintendoLife: Might be worth updating this article with the following from Christopher Dring (Game Business)
Star Fox on Nintendo Switch 2 sells twice as many retail copies in the UK at launch as Star Fox Zero on Wii U, and 70% more than Star Fox 64 3D on Nintendo 3DS. This is without factoring in digital sales.
Luckily, local UK Nintendo community groups who meet up to play modern and retro games together are still kicking in 2026, and helping to keep in-person N64 local multiplayer alive.
Why some deem it difficult to use is beyond me. The middle prong is the exact same setup as the left hand side of a modern controller, only with a button underneath the control stick rather than on the shoulder, and the c-buttons are camera buttons or can be repurposed for other actions. What's so hard to understand?
75% of the trailer was watching an old woman talk our ear off in her apartment with misdirection throughout. Just show the game as it is lads. It's not hard.
It's not a rumour, it's a guess. It's the same trick they try every single year. Everyone and their dog can guess that a Direct is coming in mid-June, that's no reason to platform grifters by putting out a post.
@JohnnyMind Can't be waiting for the official price when a purely speculative placeholder price can begin the drama farming and drive up engagement early.
The headline is manufacturing controversy where there is none. Pocketpair trademarking the name 'Palworld Online' has absolutely nothing to do with the nature of Nintendo's lawsuit against them.
Congrats to the Switch on reaching no.1. If Sony wants to legitimately claim the PS2 is the highest selling console of all time then they need to provide some actual receipts for the additional 5M they magically pulled out of their arse. I mean actual proof of sell-through, and not just a photo of a production unit.
It did not need 'another' remake, and I won't hide my personal disappointment, but I think the reasons for it are...
(a) Starfox and Starfox 64 are the best-selling entries in the series
(b) Nintendo wants to re-introduce Starfox to a new generation of Nintendo fans, and a 64 remake ensures it'll be a good quality game that also ticks the nostalgia grab for long-time fans
(c) Nintendo are well known for training porting studios on remakes 'before' letting them develop new entries in a franchise. Link's Awakening, Famicom Detective Club remakes, Metroid Samus Returns were made by devs who were working on those franchises for the first time, and all of them subsequently had new entries thereafter - Echoes of Wisdom, FDC Emio The Smiling Man, and Metroid Dread. So, if Starfox sells well enough, there's every chance we could get a new entry in the future
It won't be popular to say in these parts but NOA and the Pokemon Co. rightly protected their IP as the creator was making bank from advertisers and Patreon using characters and content pulled from a copyrighted intellectual property.
Kit and Grifter giving credibility to a guesswork merchant, amplified by games media. Tale as old as time.
I wish these charlatans would all bugger off honestly instead of ruining future surprises or getting people's hopes up, all so they can stay relevant, and juice their YouTube and Patreon subs instead of doing something worthwhile with their time.
Such a self-serving post with no care whatsoever towards those that really don't appreciate such spoilers several days out from the release of the film. You could've titled it "Surprising new character revealed for SMG movie", but no, of course not.
@UltimateOtaku91 because Trainers may want to battle one another using that games bespoke battle system and utilise the full complement of regional 'mon, not just those permitted to be transferred to Champions.
Moreover, it's not hard to see why those seeking casual battles may prefer the convenience of natively battling via Pokemon Winds and Waves for example instead of needing to download separate pieces of software and transfer their teams over to it.
@DownRightSam Correct, but games media's insatiable thirst for clicks means even dubious claims from tainted sources must be treated as authentic and goes unchallenged by the writers.
Naturally, the majority of readers buy into what's claimed wholesale, which helps fuel engagement and keeps the gravy train rolling on.
@KeeperBvK This is incorrect. Performance is tied to supply 'and' demand. If there was more demand for a retail copy than copies supplied, then it could be said to have underperformed relative to the number of retail copies it would have sold had there been ample supply.
It's worrying how important it is to some on this thread that they be allowed to run around as a 14 year old in skimpy swimwear. Also, please learn the difference between censorship and localisation
@Nintendontyouknow Screaming in all caps for new first-party title announcements from a solely third-party Nintendo Direct: Partners Showcase is beyond parody at this point
Whilst impressive from a technical standpoint, I'd be concerned about effective heat dissipation. The Switch 2 now also has to be removed from the housing to insert game cartridges, and there's no way to charge the Joy-Con.
For all the "still 30fps!" crowd, since i'm tired of seeing the same comment on every forum and comments section
ACNH's game logic, movement, and physics is tied to the frame rate. They won't be able to increase it to 60fps without a significant and extensive rewrite of the codebase
Firstly, NLife need to be clear from the outset that this is a Nintendo Life Readers Top 50 based on the 'What score would you give 'X' game", and not a Nintendo Life employees Top 50
I don't put much stock in these rankings anyway as Trials secured top spot on 145 votes, whereas DK had to please far more of its 1,200 voters to achieve its 9.0 score. In such a flawed system, a game could receive 2 votes of 9.5 and win GOTY
Lastly, DK, Hades, and Cyberpunk all scored 9.0 exactly, so how did NLife determine their rank order?
My current plan is to utilise the Nintendo Labo VR Goggles I already own to play Virtual Boy on NSO
p.s: I rewatched the NSO VB Nintendo Direct segment and it clearly says the software library will be released "over time". VB games will be subject to the same dripfeed release schedule as other NSO platforms.
@Hwatt The info on the physical game box reads "The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition comprises the Nintendo Switch game and the Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack"
A Nintendo spokesperson confirmed in an interview with Vooks months before the console released that "...physical versions of Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will include the original Nintendo Switch game and its upgrade pack all on the same game card"
I own some first party Switch 2 games on cart, and there was no prompt to download the upgrade pack when the game was first booted up.
If the previous poster's contention is simply that the data on the Switch 2 cart contains a Switch 1 game and the upgrade pack then that's really splitting hairs. This arrangement is what allows Switch 2 Edition carts to be played on Switch 1 consoles after all. A fully integrated Switch 2 only cartridge would only result in less benefit to end users
@Sindayl You've misread the update. It means if you load up Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (that's the name of the Nintendo Switch 1 version) on your Nintendo Switch 2 console then you'll be presented with the option for the upgrade path for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
So many people willing to spite their face by cutting off their nose. There's no reason to deny yourself the positive experience of playing a game you want. If you don't want to support GKC then purchase the digital version.
