Picked up both Eastward and Eastward: Octopia but only because both were on sale.

I'm enjoying both but I feel Octopia should've been its own standalone release.

Octopia having little to do with the original game negates the necessity of tying the two together.

Eastward isn't a new title on Switch, and so I fear that now the Game Trial and sales have ended, requiring newcomers to make two separate purchases to play Octopia is only going to hurt its sales potential in the long run

I take her point about being disposable but she should try and balance that out with some context. Most VA's don't get the kind of job security, notoriety, and good fortune to voice an iconic character for 8 years

You might want to actually contextualise the reason why you're covering Playstation rumours on your 'Nintendo' site in the article itself.

Which I assume is largely because Sonic Generations came out on 3DS, a Wii version was cancelled, and as remaster of a PS360 era Sonic game, it stands a good chance of being ported to Switch

More like don't expect a remake of FF6 any time soon because we intend to expand, bloat, and milk FF7 to death for the next decade

Sites have hit upon a new game/topic to milk clicks and engagement so Palworld will feature heavily on Nintendo news sites from here on out until interest dies down.

Hell of a marketing strategy by Palworld. Use composites of Pokemon designs for its monsters to bait the gaming media and fan forums into promoting it as much as possible. Sadly it seems to be working a treat.

Was expecting something catchy but got hit with something where the rhythm is routinely interrupted, and the tune is chaotic rather than memorable.

@Spider-Kev Indeed. So tired of the endless parade of shameless grifters and click farmers given a platform by traffic hungry websites like this one.

If anything, this story is even worse since the source admits it's guesswork, and it 'still' somehow qualifies as deserving of an article.

Some sites like Nintendo Everything usually have a higher standard, only posting "rumours" when there's some hard evidence behind them, but even they are joining the race to the bottom in the hopes of getting more eyes on their content.

All ball-park, reasonable guesses anyone could make, but the difference is, this person gets paid to spout them.

The one unassailable truth about the Wii Remote (Pointer controls) and Nunchuk combo was how perfect it was for Pikmin.

It's amazing to me that the perfect controller setup for the series came along 5 years after Pikmin 1 was born.

Sad to say it but as soon as I realised you have to put one item at a time in the shipping box, instead of it bringing up a menu for the player to transfer everything all at once, I immediately soured on it.

@eltomo This 100%. "Very tricky to pull off" despite them or anyone else knowing what tech is inside the Nintendo Switch 2, how technically demanding GTA 6 will be, how scalable it is etc etc. All just pure speculation which the headline itself would do well to contextualise.

Don't see any reason why this couldn't run on a proverbial Switch 2. Also, it coming out in 2025 means Nintendo's next platform should already be out by then. Fingers crossed.

Given what sets games apart from other media is the ability to control and influence what happens on screen, it's both ironic and sad that a 'GAME' awards hype trailer doesn't feature any gameplay.

@russell-marlow Well, not everybody. Even if I was able to force myself through awards of this awards ceremony, I wouldn't do so for GTA. Could care less about the series in truth.

Switch 2? I'd like to see more streaming apps on Switch 1 thank you very much

The time not pausing when you're in your inventory or certain other menus is my biggest gripe with this game. It leads to a feeling that you can never stop and take stock of things, which is a drain when there's so much you could be doing at any one time.

The big benefit here is how easy it's going to be for friends to try-out the co-op multiplayer together

@FawfulsFury He did elaborate. He said it was difficult if you were an "average" person, and not a genius. Basically, it's a challenging place to work if you aren't supremely talented.

@UltimateOtaku91 There's first party stuff on sale all the time actually. You've just chosen to look at a sale on one of the few times they aren't on sale. Just make a habit of checking the eShop at the end of every week from here on out.

With all respect to Patricia voice acting isn't the same as fully acting out a role on-screen. It should go to someone with acting expertise in that specific field.

I wouldn't put much stock into GOTY awards, especially the Golden Joysticks. The result basically means, the people who voted, who are always predominantly fans of PC, Xbox and Playstation systems, have chosen a multiplatform game as no.1

On a wider note, I detest the infantile obsession with having there be only 'one' GOTY. Why not 3, or 5?

Having there be only one just needlessly diminishes those below as inferior and feeds into all the dumb fanboy wars in threads like this one.

I'd prefer something akin to what the Strong Museum does, and have 8-10 games as part of a 'Game of the Year Class of 2023'. That would feel more grown up and representative.

@nhSnork Quite possibly the dumbest comment in a long time. Switch has DOOM, White Dead, Hotline Miami, Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, the Sinking City, Hellblade, and the list goes on and on.

Yakuza games absence on Switch has bugger all to do with how "mature" or "gritty" the games are, and more to do with the developers ignorant and dismissive attitude towards the platform.

Funnily enough, the article spends more time on, and makes a better case 'for' backwards compatibility.

The only reasons you put forward for why Switch 2 doesn't need it are piracy due to a flawed chipset, which carries no weight as that vulnerability on Switch has already been taken care of. The second point about Switch being less bulky than previous Nintendo hardware, thus it isn't as much of a chore to go back to, and doesn't take up as much space in your entertainment centre, is weak at best.

Link looks spectacular, but the airbike configuration is all wrong and the Bokoblin is far too small relative to the size of Link.

The premise of the article makes no sense to me. Pikmin are specialists. They each have tasks they excel at. Each is a necessary part of your team. They're all the best.

@Keyblade-Dan I don't really see how it can be 'peak' Final Fantasy when Square themselves are saying it's a rebirth or departure for the series. From what i've seen, it has hack-and-slash third person action gameplay in a Game of Thrones wrapper. If it wasn't for the name and the Eikons, no-one would guess it was Final Fantasy.

@StarPoint Pikmin 2 isn't short in the slightest. It tales around 12 to 30hrs to beat that game depending on how much you want to do.

Modder completely misses the point and creates baffling mod for cheap clicks and internet points. Let's move on shall we.
