@BARSAMAN I have themes on my 3DS, thus i don't need them on my Switch. Yes i'm being obtuse but that's the logic you're employing here. Having more features on the Switch means having the option to use them on Switch instead of another device if the user chooses.

Seriously? I'm sure you must've played a Mario & Luigi series or Paper Mario series game? The humour and set-pieces in those games are top notch and an indication of what can be achieved with Mario et al.

No interest in XX on Switch any longer. The Switch can do better than a port of a game the Wii, a system from two generations ago, could've ran.

I also have no faith that Capcom will grace the Switch with a Monster Hunter title any time remotely soon.

@BanjoPickles Agreed. I also found it astonishing that third-party support wasn't mentioned at all in this feature. Nintendo can't bang out big first-party titles every month forever, so besides indies, it seems important that third-parties do 'some' heavy lifting here and there.

What a strange video. If you want someones opinion on a game, let them play it for longer than 5 minutes, and within that context, don't lead off with what they thought of the games story.

@BensonUii Nice to find someone else who thinks like me. I much prefer XCX's sci-fi leanings, and for all the crap the main story gets, large chunks of that games story were in the character quests or to be found on the quest board. A lot of people ignore that when bashing it, maybe because they never bothered to seek that stuff out.

@BLP_Software It doesn't make much sense either as far as porting history goes. Games have been ported to less technically impressive systems going back decades.

Doom is now available on an additional platform, and can be played portably on a dedicated gaming system. That's more choice for consumers and more potential revenue streams for developers and publishers. Can't naysayers see that.

Don't think so hard Capcom. MHW is nice on console, it'd also be nice portable. That's as far as you need to think it.

A while back i had resigned myself to the awful truth that i would never be able to play Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Ōsōji! and Captain Rainbow. Fast-forward to 2017 and i've played the first and by all accounts, will be playing through the second before long. What a time to be a gamer :]

Doing things differently only makes you more compelling Reggie when it offers something different but on par or better than the standard. When you ignore the standard and make something worse for the sake of being different [ e.g: voice chat on Switch ] then no. I've got Stardew Valley to get through, 9 eShop games on my Switch wishlist and Odyssey, L.A Noire and Rocket League right around the corner.

Finishing off Golf Story and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, then making a proper start of Stardew Valley and Space Station Silicon Valley.

@Camilla I'm not sure why people have given you two 'hearts'. A great many of us are looking forward to the release of Super Mario Odyssey but given this is a feature about the best nindies of the remainder of 2017, your comment is completely irrelevant.

I've also read a few reports of supply constraints regarding the game in the UK.

@LukeNI I disagree. No-one 'needs' an additional dock for one thing. You're also ignoring the fact that the Joy-Cons are technically two controllers in one, and pack a lot in to a tiny space, more than other controllers even since they include HD Rumble, IR Camera, improved motion controls etc.

The Vita proprietary memory card on the other hand is something a Vita user would likely 'need' and is extortionately priced in comparison.

Great week for Switch. I hope Thimbleweed Park doesn't get crowded out by the larger releases.

Nice update but still nothing to address the warping and incorrect position displays in online and multi-switch local modes. So disappointing.

@Nincompoop I'm not how the marriage between one company who's hardware is cutting edge yet overpriced and another company who traditionally favours creative use of older technology at an affordable price would work to be honest.

Nintendo has no interest in being bought out either.

@Menchi187 It's almost like you didn't bother to read the article. Third-parties won't bother with compression, and neither they nor Nintendo are going to eat 32GB / 64GB cartridge production costs, because they're businesses.

It's just the nature of the Switch and the fact running disc media on it would've been an even worse decision.

Production costs on these cartridges will come down in time so this situation is only temporary.
