@NintendoLife: Why haven't you mentioned that 'both' lists only include software released in Japan, hence why Golf Story is missing from the overseas chart. Please edit this info in.
@NintendoLife: Can you stop with the absolutist headlines when the source is a lowly customer service rep? Otherwise the article comes across as clickbaity.
@dumedum Your opinion is a total waste, because your imposing your desire not to have Netflix on Switch on everyone else. If it was on Switch, guess what, installing it would be optional, thus you can not have it, and the rest of us can. Why would you argue against that.
@BanjoPickles Agreed. I also found it astonishing that third-party support wasn't mentioned at all in this feature. Nintendo can't bang out big first-party titles every month forever, so besides indies, it seems important that third-parties do 'some' heavy lifting here and there.
What a strange video. If you want someones opinion on a game, let them play it for longer than 5 minutes, and within that context, don't lead off with what they thought of the games story.
@BensonUii Nice to find someone else who thinks like me. I much prefer XCX's sci-fi leanings, and for all the crap the main story gets, large chunks of that games story were in the character quests or to be found on the quest board. A lot of people ignore that when bashing it, maybe because they never bothered to seek that stuff out.
@smithpa01 It isn't, but some will build upon what honest homebrewers do to facilitate piracy, so forgive me if hearing that homebrew is now possible on the Switch concerns me.
@BLP_Software It doesn't make much sense either as far as porting history goes. Games have been ported to less technically impressive systems going back decades.
Doom is now available on an additional platform, and can be played portably on a dedicated gaming system. That's more choice for consumers and more potential revenue streams for developers and publishers. Can't naysayers see that.
@Tate24 Hmm, an 8. I'm on the fence about this game so interested in what you think the NLife review gets wrong or how has your own experience been different?
A while back i had resigned myself to the awful truth that i would never be able to play Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Ōsōji! and Captain Rainbow. Fast-forward to 2017 and i've played the first and by all accounts, will be playing through the second before long. What a time to be a gamer :]
Doing things differently only makes you more compelling Reggie when it offers something different but on par or better than the standard. When you ignore the standard and make something worse for the sake of being different [ e.g: voice chat on Switch ] then no. Please don't f-ck this up Nintendo, add your spin but ffs copy 'some' of what everyone else has been doing for the last decade. Sincerely, everyone.
@Camilla I'm not sure why people have given you two 'hearts'. A great many of us are looking forward to the release of Super Mario Odyssey but given this is a feature about the best nindies of the remainder of 2017, your comment is completely irrelevant.
@Danpal65 That's a good point actually, plus we don't know what the launch sales are for the rest of Europe / World yet or how it'll sell in the long run.
I've also read a few reports of supply constraints regarding the game in the UK.
@LukeNI I disagree. No-one 'needs' an additional dock for one thing. You're also ignoring the fact that the Joy-Cons are technically two controllers in one, and pack a lot in to a tiny space, more than other controllers even since they include HD Rumble, IR Camera, improved motion controls etc.
The Vita proprietary memory card on the other hand is something a Vita user would likely 'need' and is extortionately priced in comparison.
@Nincompoop I'm not how the marriage between one company who's hardware is cutting edge yet overpriced and another company who traditionally favours creative use of older technology at an affordable price would work to be honest.
Nintendo has no interest in being bought out either.
@Menchi187 It's almost like you didn't bother to read the article. Third-parties won't bother with compression, and neither they nor Nintendo are going to eat 32GB / 64GB cartridge production costs, because they're businesses.
It's just the nature of the Switch and the fact running disc media on it would've been an even worse decision.
Production costs on these cartridges will come down in time so this situation is only temporary.
@crimsontadpoles as with every system these days? As someone said above, all AAA titles now require local storage either to have the game ripped to the system as on PS4 or to house the numerous updates and patches.
@LiberatedAnimal Lol what? The system was rushed because it had 32gb of on board storage? and third-parties can't learn to compress or pass the buck to consumers because they don't want to pay a bit more for a 32gb cartridge.
@Kalmaro I don't get it either. 2K is hardly a developer starved of resources trying to get games to work / fit as best they can. They could 'choose' to compress their games or learn how, but they don't bother. Cartridges could be 64gb, 100gb and it wouldn't matter, they'll take any cost saving measure and opt for the cheaper cart, not bother with compression and stiff the user.
For Nintendo's part, they simply can't win. If they made the above a rule, third-parties wouldn't bother, the Switch won't work with discs so they had to go with cartridges. Customers complained that the Switch even with 32gb of onboard memory cost too much, so to put in more was a risk they deemed not worth taking.
This reads like it makes no sense. It reads as if the you'll be charged 'more' in the UK for owning a prior game in the series. Think you may have got the prices mixed up.
The Jackbox Party Pack (Jackbox Games, €16.79 / £15.19 if user owns at least one The Jackbox Party Pack game, previously €20.99 / £13.49)
I'd gather this was a test by Nintendo to see if the feature would work on a large scale?
As really, if they want people to actually use it, they're going to need to offer up goodies far greater than what can be easily attained within the first 30 minutes of the game.
@PAHTK Hmm. I don't think it's that people hate SFII itself as you hate MH, it's more that they take issue with the amount Capcom charged for SFII on Switch. I'm not trying to pick a fight with you either, i'm just pointing out the difference.

@bLiNdSiDe82 This. I was surprised to see the review lack any info on performance.

Reading far, far, far too much in to this. All he said was that he thinks we'll like 2018 as well.

Re: Soapbox: The Switch Has a Big Problem, and It's Too Many Great Games

A good problem to have indeed.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - The Triumphant(?) Return
