@NintendoLife: Considering you're based in the UK it'd be nice if the info above wasn't specific to the North American competition only. Check the equivalent Labo competition page in the UK and you'll see there are three categories and not two, and that the categories are different.

To those saying they see the negatives to putting Netflix or YouTube on the Switch, what are you talking about? There are no negatives, only positives for those that want options and nothing lost for those who don't.

Every damn time this topic comes up there always some fool who has to chirp in with "I like the Switch how it is, just games". News flash for you, you can have that without needing to deprive those who want apps. The whole thing is a complete non-argument the community should be sick to the teeth of having by now.

This is exactly why it disappoints me when players say "I played Mario, i played Zelda, now my Switch is gathering dust" - that's entirely on you and your refusal to look at the other 98 games. Go expand your horizons.

The reason FE Three Houses was shown off despite being a 2019 release is because originally it was said to be coming in 2018 and Nintendo felt they had to address the new release date. Simple as that.

Unbelievable that Nintendo Life think this decision is understandable. FIFA and Madden have always sold, and their reasoning, that this decision is what's best for the game, isn't one NLife or anyone else should give them a free pass over.

@Captain_Gonru FAST RMX on Switch has online play with friends and Shin'en are a very small studio. Don't make excuses for EA's laziness.

No interest in paying the full price of a game for a glorified controller that has one button and only works with a single game. Other opinions are available of course.

So they've inserted a character where it adds nothing and, unlike something like Smash Bros. makes no sense in the context of the game. Meh.

We know so little that this is too weak a link for it to be on a Nintendo news site imo.

Initially it talked about how the news might be satisfying for Switch owners as potentially EA could acquire the rights for the Chapions League for future FIFA instalments on Switch, hence my comment.

To be honest NLife, this news shouldn't be satisfying to anyone who isn't EA exec's wanting to line their pockets.

EA increasing its hold on the football game genre will only lead to less variety and less incentive to put out a quality game each year.

How come the review doesn't mention things like the recipes, cooking pot upgrades, camp decoration buffs, how many Pokemon there are / Pokedex?

Surprised not to see 'Shifting World' mentioned during the review. I didn't it all that much on 3DS so i'm not sure i'd enjoy this given the central mechanic is the same.

How about some special editions for Nintendo Switch sometime Nintendo says everyone.

I recall at GDC 2017, Capcom's Masaru Ijuin was reported as saying that they were studying how to move the Resident Evil Engine to the Switch, and how to optimize it for portable mode.

At that same conference it was revealed that during the Switch's development, Capcom advised Nintendo to boost the system's RAM to 4GB because it was in the midst of developing its new 'Resident Evil engine' at the time.

All that and this is the result. Cheers Capcom, looks like you couldn't get it to run well enough but you still wanted to make a quick buck.

Note: Nintendo have stated that online leaderboards and rankings will remain free. Best add that to the last but one section above.

Oh my! I traded top scores on the GB version of Tetris with a german fella a year or two ago on Cyberscore [ Folkloner ] I've gone over 500k a number of times, 580k being my best.

I looked in to the Twin Galaxies record mentioned in the article and i could be 6TH! I'd best get video recording some of my runs.

This delay is all the more surprising given numerous publications have gone hands-on with the Switch version and come away with the impression that the current build ran perfectly well.

Expect a ton of pre-orders to be cancelled and for the perception of the Switch to suffer. Thanks a bloody lot Bandai Namco and From Software.

@Anti-Matter That's great but maybe clarify that preference instead of saying "No Mario Kart games, No buy." because it comes across as rather sh-tposty.

@Anti-Matter - We all love Mario Kart, but limiting your racing game interests to a single series isn't a position anyone would or should defend.

Still perplexed as to why Hyper Light Drifter, Nidhogg 2, Grip, The Pinball Arcade, Spartan, Crashlands and Kitten Squad, which were announced the same day as the Showcase, didn't appear in the broadcast.

I suppose those developers wanted to announce their games separately or Nintendo themselves wanted say the first two to not overshadow the others, or Nintendo wanted to focus mainly on indies that were coming "first to Switch".

EDIT: Whoops, just realised the Showcase was for Spring and HL Drifter is coming in the summer.

@BARSAMAN I have themes on my 3DS, thus i don't need them on my Switch. Yes i'm being obtuse but that's the logic you're employing here. Having more features on the Switch means having the option to use them on Switch instead of another device if the user chooses.

Seriously? I'm sure you must've played a Mario & Luigi series or Paper Mario series game? The humour and set-pieces in those games are top notch and an indication of what can be achieved with Mario et al.

No interest in XX on Switch any longer. The Switch can do better than a port of a game the Wii, a system from two generations ago, could've ran.

I also have no faith that Capcom will grace the Switch with a Monster Hunter title any time remotely soon.
