I think Smash pro's need to recognise that there 'is' business sense in seeking to cater to more of the player base with a broader, more diverse range of Smash competitions and events.
The above is simply a continuation of their company philosophy tbh.
@MBII That's a pretty lame critical takedown of my reasoning
Everyone on here is basically praising the diorama, and they should, it's a great piece. But the piece as a whole 'includes' the amiibo and the Switch, and there it both follows good design principles 'and' doesn't simultaneously.
When integrating two things, you need to have them compliment one another or blend in.
Look at the Pikachu Eevee Switch for example, it follows the Switch's minimalist design with etched outlines of both Pokemon on the dock, elegantly matched to the colour Joy-Cons on the side.
The diorama has a Link amiibo placed in to an artistic recreation of the environment in which the character adventures in the game. Great.
The Switch is just a black monolith at odds with everything else in the piece.
Heh. I feel like i'm the only one that dislikes these things.
I appreciate the work that went in to it and the Amiibo holder is a good touch, but otherwise it looks like you've caved in your child's toy or art and crafts model and stuck a black tablet through it.
The short is that they don't compliment each other at all.
@Jeronan Nowhere did I say it was a simple mod. All i said was there 'was' one. I've seen those videos of modded 3DS's and i am aware of the cost so really you aren't saying anything I didn't already know.
My point was to cast doubt on it being impossible, and that even if was at this point, modders will find a way, because they always do.
I recall people doing mods to get the 3DS to output to a TV so i doubt this is impossible. Difficult i'm sure but in such circles, the challenge will be too enticing for some to pass up.
"1993-released Aladdin game and 1994-released The Lion King game, both originally developed by Virgin Interactive for Sega Genesis and SNES (The Lion King-only)
SNES Aladdin was by Capcom so Genesis Aladdin and SNES and Genesis Lion King?

Cuphead co-creator Chad Moldenhauer “The current goal is to stay as far away from [computer-assisted] puppeteer animation as possible,” he added. “The idea will still be that every frame is hand-drawn” but probably not on paper. “It’s going to be hand-drawn but digitally. ‘Tradigital’
I miss the original NWC revival format of a medley of games, which were unannounced and featured a losers or underground bracket.
I also can't stand the constant high energy nattering and lengthy interludes with the hosts / panelists. It's just so draining and without pause that i find it inauthentic and unpleasant to sit through.
Really? 1080p streaming tech that mimics Wii U isn't compatible with one of the key points of non-detachable Joy-Cons [ cutting the price ] buttons are uncomfortably close together and the revised dock means the exposed screen will be perfect for dust to accumulate.
The ability to flick a switch and toggle tabletop and tv modes is great but the aesthetics, specifically the colour is so off-putting, and doesn't mesh well with the Switch.
@Itzdmo Hot take alert. It's a faulty battery with the system he owns SINGULAR. Yet you blow that up to be an indictment of the whole system. Ridiculous.
@YANDMAN It is extremely ugly, and has compromised usability for size.
I'm sure people will tell me "but it's homemade". To that i'd say, there are plenty of homemade mods out there that don't look like a child drew them with crayon and then cut them out with a rusty saw.
@roadrunner343 I feel you man. Top ten doesn't seem to be a problem for me either, but i feel like there's some strat regarding top 10 play that i'm lacking / not seeing that would help my chances of winning more frequently.
Jesus this video is painful to get through. Don't get me wrong, the guy knows his stuff and i'm fully on-board with his arguments but the background music is way too high and repetitive, and frankly completely unnecessary for this type of video.
"Acquired linear pattern texture on the lower half side on the back allows the excitement to play retro games. The feeling of subtle bumps on the texture with the debossed linear texture brings out the analogic memory, translating in attractive visual at the same time."
The first part is just complete waffly nonsense and massive grooves all over the back do not equate to gentle bumps and clashes with the sleek front of the device.
The less said about the button and the directional pad the better. There's no need to radically fix things that aren't broken. The only smart decisions here are to put the speakers near the top and maybe to lock the cartridge in whilst the system is switched on.
@Agramonte and there it is, there's the dumb comment that completely ignores the fact that Labo contains a whole software package as well as the Toy-Cons.
@Bobb That's laughable tbh. There's nearly 700 games in the North American NES library alone, releasing two a month means 24 a year. You think they've got a roadmap for releasing NES titles on Switch for nearly 30 years!?
They can 'afford' to release far more than 2 a month, they just 'choose' not to. Big difference.
@NoxAeturnus We don't need them is the answer. The Direct airs tomorrow. Show some patience, just wait, watch it and receive the info in the best way possible.
Surely Kamiya realises that bland merch with the companies logo on it isn't what fans want. It's merch based on their games and their characters that fans are after.
Nobody doubts the man's artistic talent of course but i've found the majority of them jarring and off-putting. Ridley is definitely the best of the bunch so far, Samus and Pikachu are alright.
Diddy and Mega Man especially. Couldn't help laughing.
Who among us hasn't dreamt of utilizing the GamePad's motion controls to adequately imitate the feel of the Rock vs. Mankind "I Quit Match' at Royal Rumble 1999?
Love the Kairosoft sim games. Played the demo for Dungeon Village last night actually, but I can't abide their games costing twice as much on Switch so waiting for a sale.
@CharlieSmile You've hit the nail on the head. Technically impressive but functionally moot. A solution in search of a problem if you will. Perhaps we'll see a Arcade cab for the Poke Mini next.

Re: Talking Point: What We Expect From The First Nintendo Direct Of 2020
I came in here to critique but...
Chibi-Robo, Pikmin, Elite Beat Agents 'and' Xenoblade Chronicles X mentioned in a single post.
Well now, that deserves a round-of-applause.
Re: Hardware Review: C-Force Is Back With Another Portable Switch Screen, And We've Had A Go
Nearly $300 to provide a screen for a portable product that already contains a screen. Shakes head.
For other HDMI-compatible devices though, i can see more of a use.
Re: Introducing The 64Mate, A New All-In-One N64 Storage Add-On "Launching Soon" On Kickstarter
@Stocksy funny thing is, if it was less 64mate, and more 64chimney, i'd be all in. If i can't stand inside there with my games, then no buy!
Re: Introducing The 64Mate, A New All-In-One N64 Storage Add-On "Launching Soon" On Kickstarter
I think i'm happy enough with my N64 being able to fit inside my entertainment centre thanks very much. Aesthetically, i just find it laughable.
Re: Review: Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - Great Multiplayer, But A Step Backwards For Solo Athletes
Why is there so little said about the multiplayer in this review?
Other reviews i've read say that all you can do is play a single event with 2-4 people and then it's back to the main menu.
No tournament or an olympic team mode, or any other aspect to the multiplayer here [if the other reviews are correct] would be really disappointing.
Re: This New Switch Case Comes With Console Straps, A Stand And Detachable Joy-Con Covers
Meh. A solution for problems that aren't that big of a deal, and have far more attractive looking alternatives.
The see through white plastic aesthetic is just awful.

Waiting for the official announcement I guess

Absolutely in my wheelhouse but without multiplayer it's a hard pass.
