I've never played a Rune Factory game before, but with just getting the Switch 2, Guardians of Azuma is awfully tempting. It's hard for me to consider paying $70 when TotK was the same price when it released. Perhaps one day I'll get it.

@Spider-Kev - I think the gap is talked about in Welcome Tour. If I remember correctly, the gap is actually stronger than if the joy cons were right up against the console.

I understand most of our launch games were released previously on other systems, but this has to be one of the best launch line ups from an average score perspective ive ever seen. They seem to run quite well, which bodes well for future releases and more experience developing for the Switch 2.

@Zenszulu - Do you remember when Nintendo Power had a contest for a gold N64 controller by playing Mario Kart 64. Granted, I dont think it was for the fastest time, but rather, getting a time under a certain threshold.

I remember taking it too far and finding a wildly ridiculous shortcut, which took a lot of time, then even more time to do it three consecutive times. Once I did, I sent in my picture, but didn't win a controller.

Years later, my brother went to Japan and bought a gold one for me, so it worked out in the end!

Amazing numbers. Will definitely be curious if it can maintain sales over the coming weeks.

Hopefully third party companies will also update their Switch versions like this. Whether free or not, I'm game.

Not a Splatoon guy in the slightest, but happy for everyone who is that has a Switch 2.

I'd personally love updates to Skyrim, Doom, all Xenoblade games and Witcher 3.

I have a Switch OLED, Rog Ally X (LCD panel) and now a Switch 2. I play almost exclusively handheld, and I have no complaints about any of the displays.

I swear, I must be out of touch. The general sense of unhappiness, or rather, the reporting of outlier opinions, is staggering.

I might need to double dip on this once I get a memory card. I put in over 100 hours on the Switch version before ultimately selling my physical copy. I really enjoyed it, and with all the enhancements and additions since last playing, it seems worth getting it again, especially at its current price.

This has been exactly what I expected, maybe even more. I realized when I was playing with my 5 year old that this was the first time she experienced mouse controls (she's pretty savvy with touchscreen from phones and tables) and she was having a blast with some of the minigames.

Some of those medal goals have been fairly challenging for my mid 40s reaction times and coordination, but it's all with a smile.

This is pretty much on par with the portable PCs like the Steam Deck. Im playing Assassins Creed Odyssey on the ROG Ally X and I might be getting around 2 hours from 100% to 20%.

I haven't played MKW for more than an hour handheld, so it hasnt been too noticable.

I gave this game a pass early on due to a lack on content, but the more I saw, the promise of additional content and price swayed me. Im glad I got it, it's a nice launch showcase title.

Playing Switch 2... specifically Mario Kart World, World Tour, Fast Fusion, and TotK upgrade.

I can't believe Walmart still hasn't charged me for the console yet! I've never heard of an online delivery going through without being paid first.

I got this cheap and tried to play this on my ROG Ally X, and I get game breaking stutters. It could be by settings, so I might need to fiddle with it more to find the sweet spot.

If I can't find a good balance, its good to know this plays quite well and I would consider purchasing down the road.

Haters gonna hate. I'll probably try it tonight and I see myself enjoying it for what it is. Definitely not going to lose sleep over it.

Still haven't been charged, so i still can't tell if my Walmart pre order will go through after a warning of cancellation. Only time will tell, and that time should be later today or tomorrow!

Today should go fast for me though... I have like 4 hours of meetings and a 15 hour work day. I'll be plenty busy. 😋

I was wondering when we were going to hear about this game. The developer provides so many updates to NMS, that a Switch 2 upgrade seemed like a given.

Shame I sold my physical Switch 1 copy.

I'll largely be playing handheld, so i won't need a pro controller. Even if I play on TV, a Joy Con will be sufficient for Mario Kart World and Fast Fusion, which will probably be my first game purchases. Maybe down the road

Normally, I wouldnt give games like this much thought, but as a father with a 5 year old, this could be something we play together as she continues to enjoy learning about and playing video games.

I'd like to see how it reviews though to make sure it isnt a totally terrible and/or broken game.

This will be great once my daughter inherits my Switch OLED while I upgrade to the Switch 2. Should probably pick up Clubhouse Games too!

We are at the 11th hour and still haven't been charged, so I'm fairly sure my pre order will be cancelled. walmart wasnt my first choice, but they were the only one I could complete the pre-order through.

My issues have stemmed more from the sensitivity of my bank, slapping it as fraud multiple times, despite my efforts speaking with the credit card company, the bank, and Walmart. Walmart has already threatened to cancel it because of this fiasco. Can't run a credit card if the bank keeps preventing it.

Whatever happens, happens. Will find out eventually!

I think from the list above, ill probably get MKW, Welcome Tour, Fast Fusion and the upgrade pack for TotK... if Walmart doesn't cancel my Switch 2 pre-order. So stressful, lol.

Does anyone think the complaining would have been nonexistent if this was called 'Discovery Tour' instead of 'Welcome Tour'?

My credit card company is on a mission to fraud flag my pre-order into cancellation. They did it when I pre-ordered April, and again late last night to get my order ready, despite calling my CC company to tell them to stop. Now Walmart is threatening to cancel my order Because they can't run my card.

So depending on how that saga plays out, I may be on Switch 1 for a little longer than anticipated. 🤣

Looks quite impressive! Perhaps I could be persuaded to get this after all. The number of tracks is on the low side for me, but with DLC in the future, it definitely feels worth the price of admission.

I only pre ordered a switch, no games. I'll wait until I recieve the console to pick up MKW. At the very least, ill probably pick up the TotK upgrade since I never finished the game.

Im still worried that my pre order will be cancelled since i secured mine days after the live date, so until I have the system in hand, im cautiously optimistic.

Still missing about 30-40 or so cards across all sets rated one star and below, mostly newer ones and one star cards. Never spent a dime, but my daughter and I really enjoy this.

If you want it right away, you'll find a way, otherwise, you'll wait for a sale or skip right over it. As someone who has loved gaming for the last 40 years, ive always found a way to partake, in good and bad financial times.

I've really enjoyed the Borderlands games, but personally, $80 is too high for me, so i fall into the category of 'wait for a sale'.

I live in the US, and every site i tried to pre-order from gave me a hard time the day they went live and I failed to secure one.

I kept tabs open on my phone for each store though and refreshed several times per day until one glorious morning, pre orders were back briefly and I secured one.

This is what I expected though, and I wasn't going to lose any sleep over whether I get one day one or down the road.

With the track count being on the lighter side at launch, I may wait a little bit to see what they will be cooking up post launch. Thats more of a personal thing than a negative, given the price is so good. Perhaps when reviews hit I could be persuaded.

When I got a Rog Ally X, I immediately picked up Trails in the Sky. It was definitely enjoyable and completed the game, but with the 2nd chapter game being more of the same, I bounced off the series about 30 hours into that one. 75 hours into the trilogy and I needed to break.

Wonder what will happen first, series gets remade or I finish the original trilogy. 😋

My Switch hasn't seen as much play time since nabbing a Switch 2 Pre-order. There were several games I haven't played/completed in my backlog that have confirmed upgrades, so I'm holding out for that.

Im a solo gamer, so Gamechat isn't even a thought for me. Beyond the NSO trials, I've never even played online on the Switch.

Despite securing a pre-order through Walmart, im still trying to help other families secure one at cost. However, seeing that I am not an NSO subscriber, im probably very low on the priority list. You would think playing for over 1000+ hours on the device would be enough!

My Switch/PC backlog will definitely keep me busy until the Switch 2 arrives. Managed to secure a pre order a few days after they went live miraculously, and it hasn't been cancelled yet!

As a ROG Ally X owner, the current grip feel is nice, but i could understand a more controller like feel may be more pleasing, despite its look.

The cost is what I'm interested in seeing. I can't imagine this thing being cheaper than $1k. Im also interested in compatability. If this thing is a dedicated PC, that means console versions won't work with it, nor will Xbox 360 purchases.

It'll also be interesting to see what the UI looks like and if they can make the historically non user friendly PC experience more appealing.

Personally, I use Dekudeals for Switch and GG for PC and Xbox. I like seeing comparisons across all retailers/storefronts for the best price. No matter how much Nintendo improves the eShop, my preference will likely remain unchanged.

I just finished Dungeons of Hinterburg (would love to see this on the Switch 2) and Doom on the Xbox Series X earlier this week, so I randomly selected a backlog game.

I randomly selected Gestalt: Steam & Cinder for the PC (playing on a ROG Ally X). Nice little metroidvania so far that I was surprised wasn't on the Nintendo Switch, although it did just release last year. Seems like a perfect fit.

On the Nintendo side of things, I've been playing more of the classics as of late like Zelda II on the NES. Nothing like a bit of nostalgia while recovering from illness!

I'd probably buy some... but it'll be on a case to case basis.

No way will I trade my Switch OLED. I wore down the joysticks so much they probably wouldn't accept it anyway. >D

Check those retailer websites this weekend! Didn't get the Mario Kart bundle, but that's okay. I prefer my Nintendo first party games as physical releases

No luck at any of the major retailers in the US. I had tabs upon tabs open for each SKU across each site, and even then i couldnt get one. I managed to get a MKW bundle in my Gamestop cart, but by the time i got through check out it was sold out.

Ill keep refreshing it in hopes to complete it, but I'm fairly certain my chance has passed. Its all on the Nintendo invitation now.

Not going to lose any sleep over it though. My Spring allergies, on the other hand, will definitely make me lose some sleep. 🤧 😋
