Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows On Switch 2 Supposedly "Unplayable" For Some Players After Repeated Crashes

Divide_and_Wander

Very unfortunate to hear. Knowing my play style, it feels like i'd be one of those people getting the repeated crashes.

Much like Outlaws, ill wait a bit for a few patches to see what they address, then maybe dive in. If it doesnt get fixed quickly, I still haven't played Assassins Creed Valhalla, which I already have on PC. Could give that a play first.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th December)

Divide_and_Wander

Polished off quite a few games from the backlog this week! Finished Dave the Diver, Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury, and Katana Zero.

The hope was that I'd have Metroid Prime 4 by now, but I still haven't had a chance to pick up a copy yet. I might have a chance today, but we'll see. If I don't get it, I'll have to dive back into the backlog. I've been itching to start Blaster Master 3, so that's a possibility too.

Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

Divide_and_Wander

I love my Switch 2, but my goodness, the screen is completely covered in superficial scratches and one fairly notable dig that draws my eyes to it with bright colors displayed. I can only assume its happening from removing the console from the dock.

I treat my consoles immaculately, so im pretty bummed it looks like this already. I have no other handheld screen that looks this weathered, and that dates back to my GBA. My Switch OLED, which I got day 1, could be passed off as brand new still.

My advice? Get a screen protector, no matter how great you take care of your system.

Re: The Game Awards 2025: Time, Date & How To Watch

Divide_and_Wander

I'll probably watch what I can before I ultimately fall asleep. It seems to be more popular to hate on these events, but I geniunely look forward to them. Watching new game reveals and trailers, even if they arent for me, makes me feel like a kid again. Add in some awards to honor the years best games is a nice way to wrap up the year too.

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler 0 (Switch 2) - A Bit Of A Retread, But Unmissable (And Enormous)

Divide_and_Wander

Busy review week for the Switch, huh? Thank you for the review NL! I still haven't gotten around to playing any games in the Octopath series yet, but each release makes me more interesting in playing.

The time commitment is definitely a factor, as one poster mentioned. Its hard as a middle aged dad to commit to lengthy games nowadays. I sometimes play at night after the kiddo is in bed, but a 100 hr game would take over a month to complete... and thats if its the only thing I played!

Re: Video: We've Played Assassin's Creed Shadows On Switch 2 - Here's 12 Minutes Of Gameplay

Divide_and_Wander

@clianvXAi - I would recommend checking out videos online of handheld play in the meantime. I've watched a few for Assassins Creed Shadows in handheld mode and at the moment, ive seen nothing that would deter me personally from getting this down the road.

Ive also never played the beefier version on Xbox or PS5, so i tend to be more impressed with the Switch 2 version than someone who may have experienced it elsewhere first.

Re: Here's Another Look At Elden Ring Running On Switch 2

Divide_and_Wander

Seems like it plays well enough, and im glad they delayed it to polish the game further. Im more curious how it will play in handheld mode.

Even if its a fine port, this game probably isnt for me. The genre just isnt my cup of tea. Speaking of delays, I wonder how Borderlands 4 is coming along...

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Shadows (Switch 2) - An Ambitious Port Of A Captivating Series Refresh

Divide_and_Wander

@bixente - No doubt there will be patches. Ubisoft did great with Star Wars Outlaws (bought and completed it on Switch 2), but it was not without issues. I experienced crashes and graphical glitches a plenty, even after the most recent patches, but it never took away too much to me personally.

Even if thats as good as Assassins Creed Shadows gets to, id be perfectly fine with that.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Shadows (Switch 2) - An Ambitious Port Of A Captivating Series Refresh

I play mostly handheld, so the unstable framerate while playing undocked comment has me a little concerned. Other than that, it seems Ubisoft is putting in good effort to their Switch 2 games.

It probably won't deter me in the end. I played Starfield on the Rog Ally X, which delivered a mostly 30 fps experience, and it occasionally dropped into the 20s too. I sunk 100+ hours into regardless... although I learned about Frame Gen midway through, which boosted fps a bit.

Perhaps if Metroid Prime 4 wasnt around the corner, I would have picked this one up this month.

Re: Switch 2 Black Friday Deals Are A Bit 'Meh', But Here Are The Best We've Seen

Divide_and_Wander

Hardware deals arent needed given how new and in demand it is, but since a lot of releases are ports, I think thats where you'll find some good stuff. Star Wars Outlaws at $30 is a steal, and thats from someone who put in 60-70 hours into the Switch 2 version.

I understand Game Key Cards arent everyones cup of tea and will be a deal breaker for some.

Still holding out hope for a Cyberpunk physical deal on Black Friday!

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th November (North America)

Divide_and_Wander

Nothing for me this week from the above list of games. Given the sales that just started for the holidays... I did buy the physical edition of the Final Fantasy I-IV collection for $39.99 for the Switch, and I cashed in my Microsoft Points for DQIII HD2D (Play Anywhere title, so can play on Xbox and ROG Ally X). Retro RPGs for the win!
