Ive put in a little over an hour or so on the demo in handheld, and it does feel a little blurry. For me though, i dont think it takes away from my enjoyment of the game, and theres a real possibility I pick it up down the road.
Havent played MHS 1 or 2, but own them both for the ROG Ally X, so might try those first.
I love me some pinball, but at that price I think im going to need to stick to playing the 25 cent ones at my local watering hole, or video game pinball, haha.
Last weekend, I finished Fast Fusion and Hades, further chipping away at the backlog. Ive shelved my Metroid Prime 4 playthrough for now, as I just dont feel motivated to play it at the moment.
This weekend, im going to continue my playthroughs of Cyberpunk, Super Mario Galaxy & Diablo 3.
I played through the Pragmata demo this morning, and I really enjoyed it. Also started the Monster Hunter Stories 3 demo as well, and I can really see myself getting into it. Havent played a Monster Hunter Stories title before, so not sure if I should go back to play the others first.
Wasn't Indiana Jones a huge GB game on Xbox? I'd be pretty shocked if it was a true physical release. I guess its always possible, but hopefully we'll find out today!
Most interested in DQ VII. Ill probably get around to Yakuza and Resident Evil eventually, but I have a few previous games to play and beat first. I think the last RE game I played was 5, and ive only played Yakuza Kiwami 1.
I certainly wont turn down a free Switch 2 version, but itll be unlikely I play through it again. Ive already beaten it on Xbox and Switch. Still need to play Silksong though!
Hopefully we'll hear something soon, maybe on the next Indie Direct? They said it wouldn't be a major delay, but we are now over 3 months from its original release date, which could be considered a notable delay at this point. Still holding out for a late Q1 release.
Well, I know what won't be there.. Borderlands 4. Still a shame, really enjoy the series. I never finished 3 or the Pre-Sequel. So i guess ill have to settle with that.
As for other games, im hoping we see some Indiana Jones and Expedition 33. Pretty much any adventure and/or RPG announcements will be welcomed.
With the recent definitive edition of The Division and 60 fps upgrades to older Far Cry games, it makes me wonder if Switch 2 ports are in the pipeline too.
@Dr_Awkward - I feel the same way. Nintendo will have theirs when its time, and based on what they've announced, it wont be too long. I personally like Partner Directs, especially after seeing how games like Cyberpunk and Star Wars Outlaws play on Switch 2.
Sweet! While I know it may be a disappointment for some being a Partner Direct, Im really curious what games are coming from third parties. Ubisoft has done a great job so far, and Microsoft has a stable of games suited well for the Switch 2. Can't wait!
Im still salty that these games cant be played without some kind of peripheral that costs additional $$$ on top of an NSO subscription. I would have loved to try out the games I never owed, especially if theyre allowing the color to change from red to something else.
The irony of the pricing is that I paid less for a new Virtual Boy and several games than the VB headset being released by Nintendo for the Switch.
Im seriously bummed about this. Playing these types of games on a console just arent in the cards with a 6 year old, so handheld play has been the way to go.
I heard B4 doesnt run great on the ROG Ally X, so I held off to see if the Switch 2 version would be more stable. Maybe if it gets discounted low enough ill pick it up.
Ive never gotten into the Fire Emblem series, so im not too interested in that, along with many of the other releases. The only one for me potentially is Pokopia. I put in 70+ hours into the Dragon Quest Builders games, so its possible ills enjoy that too.
Im interested in Dragon Quest VII and Pokopia. The DQ demo really sold me on the game. As for Pokopia, I played DQ Builders 2 last year and had a blast with it. Pokopia looks very similar, plus its something I know my 6 year will enjoy playing/watching.
I finished Red Dead Redemption late last night, so theres another one off the backlog! I think Metroid Prime 4 and Diablo 3 are next, with a bit of Hades and Fantasy Life sprinkled in between.
On the subject of Hades, I escaped 5 times with 5 different weapons last weekend, which is a sure sign that im getting better at it. Thats brings me up to 6 total escapes. 😄
I was originally considering Dispatch, but with the censorship stuff, im holding off from any new purchases this week. That was the only one i was interested in.
I've been cruising through comments about this topic since the controversy began. This just feels like a terrible judgement call and/or oversight from Ad Hoc to get their game out more quickly.
Regardless of the reason though, their decision has cost them, at least for me.
I enjoyed watching the Direct, and it seems like a game that should find an audience. I am not that audience, haha. My 6 year old would probably get a kick out of it though.
Not knowing much about Tomodachi Life outside of the Nintendo Direct excerpts for Switch, it looks like a super quirky title, but it probably isnt for me. We'll just have to wait and see.
Neat feature! If I were to ever revisit the VB library (had one w/ 5 games back in the day), id most certainly not go back to the retina killing red. The gray looks more to my liking, but I just cant bring myself to buying the accessory to play it... not even the cardboard option.
Ive been continuing to enjoy working through my backlog. This weekends Switch 1/2 games are Red Dead Redemption, Metroid Prime 4, and Fantasy Life I.
Where I live, we're getting ready for a fairly sizable snowstorm (12-20 in expected), which means plenty of game time hunkered down in the house.
A funny thing im doing nowadays is playing the Switch while riding a stationary bike. Im getting back into decent running shape for the Spring, and ive been doing Hades runs while cycling. Anyone else do something like this?
@Luigia - I dont think its as bad as its being made out to be. With late dev kits, that could have had an impact on games like Fable, Forza, etc. However, we do know that Indiana Jones, South of Midnight, and Fallout 4 have been announced so far, and im sure more is on the way. I think the next Nintendo Direct will be very telling.
I loved the way it looked during yesterday's Developer Direct, and will probably go the Xbox Play Anywhere route regardless of a Switch 2 release. I'd have to wait for reviews though to ensure it plays well on the ROG Ally X though.
I was hoping to see more from Microsoft for the Switch 2, but perhaps thats being saved for a future Nintendo Direct.
I know Nintendo raised their prediction from 12 to 15 million units this fiscal year (ends March 31st), so if the US was at 4.4 million at year end and Japan was around 4 million 7 days ago, plus whatever Europe is at, it seems like they have a shot at making it to 15 million. Looking forward to Nintendos next financial report!
I dont own any Nintendo stock or anything, just generally interested in the success (or in some cases, lack thereof) of certain companies.
Thank you for the review! After I played the demo, I was hooked but ill need to wait to get it though. Ive been waging war on my Switch backlog as of late, so I have plenty to do in the meantime. Who knows, perhaps itll be on sale by the time im ready for it!
@ozwally - I actually played it on the ROG Ally X. Planet of Lana was a free PC game giveaway for having an Amazon Prime account, and thats how I got it. I cant speak on the Switch version. I guess I shouldn't assume it would play the same, despite the games simplistic gameplay design.
I played through the first game last year and I ended up really enjoying it. Its not a long game by any means, you can easily knock it out over a weekend.
I wont be watching the trailer, but if its more of the same with new puzzles and mechanics, count me in.
Finished Xenoblade Chronicles X last weekend, which was a big win on the backlog clean up! There are still dozens of games in the backlog, but I'm enjoying going back to see what sticks now that didn't previously.
Currently, I'm switching between Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Red Dead Redemption on the Switch 2, with the occasional run through Hades to see if I can progress the story. I've escaped only once, but that is one more than I expected since I'm so bad at this genre, haha.
This game has always felt like it'd be a good fit for the Switch. I couldn't wait and ended up getting it on the ROG Ally X instead. Hope it finally comes out!
My most played Switch 1/2 games of 2025 were Tears of the Kingdom, Dragon Quest Builders 2, and Star Wars Outlaws. I was surprised Xenoblade Chronicles X wasnt in the top, but my hours were split between the end of December and half of January.
I spent even more time on my ROG Ally X, where Assassins Creed Odessey, Assassins Creed Origins, and Yakuza Kiwani 1 were my most played games. What a great and entertaining year overall. 🙂
Ill be really interested to see what is shared during the next Nintendo financial report. I think they even increased their hardware sales projections before the holidays and then sales slowed down significantly.
I think Microsoft has their Developer Direct later this month. It wouldn't surprise me if they dedicate a small portion of that time to 'additional PS5/Switch 2 game support'.
The Eevee one looks alright, but the only one that I would have gotten is the badge set, and thats locked behind the a $650 Lego. I'll have to pass for now.
That would be great if true! If it came with a Switch 2 edition, even better! Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games, and any reason to return would be fine with me!
Im hoping to finish Xenoblade Chronicles X this weekend. Im about 120 hours in, but i think im on the last act of the last chapter. Im not too confident in my strength, so ill probably do some xp grinding.
XCX is now only the 8th game that ive logged over 100 hours on Switch consoles. 3 of the those 8 are Xenoblade titles, and the first game I logged 90+ hours. What a great game series!
All this article has told me is that my brother, who is doubled jointed in his fingers, must be one of the first Gen AI models. All this time, he's been nothing but AI slop. >D
I'll be playing lots of Xenoblade Chronicles X this weekend, along with a few Hades runs in between that.
Hades in particular has been in the backlog for years, mostly because it didn't click with me at the time. Im not particularly good at the genre, but i'm trying to 'git gud' at it.
Finally finished Diablo 2 solo on the Switch 2, continuing my journey of completing backlog titles. Unfortunately, the holiday sales got the better of me, and I added games like Cyberpunk, Fantasy Life I, and Skyrim Switch 2.
Im also in the middle of my first playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game that I picked up on Day 1, but fell off of it fast. Just wasnt the time to play it. Now though, im 30 hours in with no signs of slowing down.
I just downloaded this to have a game my daughter can be a part of. Games like Diablo, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Cyberpunk arent really for the 6 yo audience, haha. Local coop has me the most intrigued, as it'll allow her to play along with me.

Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Switch And Switch 2 Partner Direct Game In New Infographic
As an adventure/rpg genre fan, ill be personally eating good after this Direct.
Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase February 2026: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
I would give it an 8 out of 10. There were quite a few games I would pick up from the Direct.

Re: Review: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined (Switch 2) - A Fantastic Makeover & The Best-Looking DQ Ever
I really enjoyed the demo. It will be an inevitable purchase for me, just not right now.
The only DQ games I finished were the first one on the NES, DQ XI on the Switch, and DQ Builders 2, so im all over the place.
Re: 'Under The Island' Looks Packed With Minish Cap-Style Charm In New Release Date Trailer
Looks pretty good to me! Ive been itching to play a game like this, so ill throw it on the wishlist for now.
