Anyone else notice that literally they can't shoot anything in the trailer? Like they miss way off every shot like they can't show someone being hit in the trailer
I like it a lot, but I also hate that 80% of the games are just like brutally difficult 2 seconds in. Like it's kind fun an funny for some, but not most.
that said, it's a super awesome concept. I might just need to get good.
Im glad they called out the aesthetics, this looks liek the design you would use for an alpha build. Why was nintendo possibly thinking. I get not wanting to put mario in a wheelchair or something but like the other option is lifeless robots?
Drag X Drive is a fun enough idea, but the only way it would have even been a great success is if it were a packin. It's just got so much against it. it's a really really cool use of mouse mode but, the art design is awful and doesn't look at all like nintendo, the name eh, it feels like it's really iffy for any portable play and overall just kinda an oddball game idea that will be hard to attract people to.
@jakubzet Yeah the world of AI gaming slop is still in infancy, but in 5 years I can't imagine the stupid BS people will throw on the app store. it's already bad but it feels like we're at the top of this hill atm.
Better than the last but not by a lot. It was way too short, and not totally for lack of content either, the sizzle reel games that were bafflingly on the sizzle reel all had full trailers released afterward. Does someone at Nintendo like have it out for UFO 50?
@Suketoudara Dude I'm so confused. Nintendo acts like they're paying for airtime on the superbowl. What's the harm with making larger announcements for games? Almost all those sizzle reel games have full trailers. The only thing I can think is they're like charging these companies more for more time on the direct or something.
@tourjeff Yeah I know some people got some stuff they wanted, even me, but I looked back and this one rated lower than any other direct from last year but quite a large margin, which it definitely deserved
man i looked back at the directs from last year and they usually rate a good on the highest rating, and this one rated poor for the highest rating. I think it's pretty agreed that it wasn't great.
after that kinda fairly long wait for a normalish direct, it was super boring, only like maybe 1 bigger release from square, even then it wasn't that big.
I'm glad you can destroy everything, but i don't like doing that. It feels like there are so many fun design elements that are fun to also keep in place.
@Ramouz This is an awful way to do pricing. I think there is definitely a limit, but generally over like 10-15 hours of gameplay is a pretty full game. Plenty of slop out there that has tons of repetition to get 100 hours and aren't anywhere near the quality of shorter games.
@Suketoudara Some of them can be fun and the overworld design is kinda fun but the minigames.... they're so generic. Here is a generic putt putt level, oh a scrape off level lets just have them literally scrape off paint, oh a shooting game? Lets put them in blank blue room and shoot red balloons.
Where is the Nintendo charm here? Why are these so devoid?
@TrueBlueYoshi Except all the mini games suck are are devoid of a single shred of character. Would have made way more sense if they did mario party style mini games, would have been more fun to have like actual characters instead of every game being as generic as humanly possible.
@OctolingKing13 I hate them but I will take it over the stupid ones when like youtube updates and they're like "greasing the tubes that your videos go down" and I know someone on their team thinks it's SO CLEVER, but when literally every update is that it's just annoying.
I mean I enjoy some spongebob now and then, but why in the world wouldn't they add other sega IP into the mix? Monkey ball guys, Jetset Radio, crazy taxi, Persona
TBH, it's not anything I would say to buy ever, and it does look mostly like a lazy Unity game but there was atleast some effort put into it by someone. Looks almost like someone was just messing around trying to make a 007 type game then got really into it and made a whole thing. Should have just made it their own idea though rather than using that name.
I wish they nailed the open world a bit better, like switchup had some great suggestions there. The maps in grand pre are super super fun, I just wish though that some didn't repeat. Definitely good 8/10 from me, just like it felt mostly like a normal mario kart game though.
OLED is great, but everything I have seen on devices it usually causes battery life to get worse, and with it already being pretty bleh on switch 2 that was probably part of it. Though TBH switch oled had good life, idk if that just had a bigger battery or what
Is it just me or is the Sekiro/Soulslike genre kind of getting oversaturated. They all seem like well reviewed but like jeesh every company has one and they all look so similiar.
i almost hate these visuals, like they have a bit of the flash game aesthetic. However it looks like they have a lot of love and thought put into them so idk

Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong "Special Announcement" Is Coming Today
I wish i liked hollow knight more, but I'm excited for everyone who has been waiting on this.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Offers Buttery Smooth Performance On Switch 2
it's really embarrassing if this doesn't run at 120fps.

Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
It was pretty good. While i'm still not really wow'd by the game itself, I think it looks like a cool release.
Re: Anniversary: n-Space & Nintendo's M-Rated GameCube Gem Is 20 Years Old
i'd love to see this on switch.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
Drag X Drive is a fun enough idea, but the only way it would have even been a great success is if it were a packin. Re: Forget Silksong, This New Terminator 2D Overview Trailer Looks Stupidly Good
Another one that would have been way more exciting than 90% of the announcements today. Idk if this would be considered an indie or not though.

Excited to try this. I couldn't totally get into shovel knight for some reason but i like the style
Re: Fifteen Years In The Making, Caves Of Qud Is Finally Coming To Nintendo Switch Later This Year
Another really interesting one that got relegated to a sizzle reel. Like they saw all the interesting games and said give them 5 seconds max.

i'm happy about this, but i'm angry about how it was announced

Felix needs a Mic man. He's wired up like it's 2005.
Re: Anniversary: No Way Is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 30 Years Old Already
WHAT IN THE HECK IS THAT COMMERCIAL. I do not remember that one
Re: Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games Of All Time
I would maybe rank snap 64 over the new one but that could just be nostalgia speaking, both are great.
Re: Surprise! Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Thursday 7th August 2025
@sadboy took the words from my mouth. Hope we're proven wrong
Re: Rumour: Three Games Were Pulled From Nintendo's Direct Partner Showcase, According To Veteran Games Journalist

best announcement today, it was all downhill after this
Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 31st July 2025
like I'll take it but that's highly disappointing as well
Re: Random: Players Are Completely Destroying Donkey Kong Bananza Levels, Because They Can
@datamonkey lol I had absolutely no idea, thank you!
Re: Random: Players Are Completely Destroying Donkey Kong Bananza Levels, Because They Can
I'm glad you can destroy everything, but i don't like doing that. It feels like there are so many fun design elements that are fun to also keep in place.
Re: Poll: Has Donkey Kong Bananza Made You Feel Ill?
Now and then the camera gets a bit wonky and i get a little crosseyed but nothing big
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Bananza?
Not without tiny problems but definitely a 10/10 for me. Such a masterclass in platforming games
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2) - Absolutely Smashing, But Can It Beat Mario Odyssey?
@Ramouz This is an awful way to do pricing. I think there is definitely a limit, but generally over like 10-15 hours of gameplay is a pretty full game. Plenty of slop out there that has tons of repetition to get 100 hours and aren't anywhere near the quality of shorter games.
Re: Miyamoto Views Games As 'Products', Not 'Works Of Art', Says Ex-Nintendo Dev
I think maybe just a bad translation of the word "product" and how most of us view that maybe? Because it doesn't sound good lol
Re: Review: Kunitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess (Switch 2) - Tower Defence With A Twist In Capcom's Gorgeous, Yokai-Slaying Hybrid
Honestly idk if it's technically as impressive as something like cyberpunk, but the art design is really really good

awful, leave the original

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Switch 2 Box Art Shows Pauline In All Her Glory
so i'm confused if she like gets turned into a rock later in the game or if like this was all literally just fake and that character doesn't exist
Re: A New Goosebumps Game Is Shuffling Onto The Switch This August
I mean it doesn't look great, but doesn't look awful
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Direct Revealed For Wednesday, 18th June 2025
Boooooo wanted a general direct not a DK only one
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Jet Set Radio (Dreamcast)
for once they all kinda rock, and just are iterations of the same kinda idea. NA pops the most though

yeah i tried mine today, immediately disabled and reverted my save after it broke it and i'm back in action thankfully
