Re: Nightdive's Excellent 'System Shock' Remake Is Getting A Switch 1 & 2 Port

Zeebor15

I like that Wade continues to be one of the three publishers to go out of his way to "yes, we sprung for a real cartridge," but honestly I'm actually more impressed that Nightdive was able to shove a PS5 game onto the Overclocked Vita that is the Model One. It'll probably look worse than Goat Simulator 3 did, but it will run consistently. Unlike Goat Simulator 3

@progx That Sonic is getting a full cart with (some) of the Free Update characters included on it is also a cope I've been clinging too, as it's the first time we've actually seen a third-party course correct. I don't even own a Super Switch, but I am willing to pay $70 for a Sonic game if it means giving the accounting departments of the world more reason to not cheap out

Do you think this (and the combo reprint of 7 Part 4 and 5 on PS5) are some kind of test/response to all the mud that's been slu g at third parties over the Key-Card situation? Cause that'sy cope.

The producer in charge of FF7 Parts 4-6 is one of the most vocal, pro-physical suits in the industry, if not the only one at his level, and even though his game is THE ONLY ONE with a valid reason to be on Key-Card he was still apologetic about it. Probably why the fame is discount priced on Switch and comes with Magic cards that will probably be worth more than the cost of the fame itself one day.
It's literally him, Mike from Digital Eclipse, the CEO of Marvelous USA/Xseed, PM Studios, and Josh Fairhurst who have spoken out against Key-cards, and frankly I think FF7 producer is the only one that can really make a difference.

I'm the Atari sycophant, but they are a sub 100 head count company. They are NOT changing hearts and minds. Same with Xseed; Marvelous, who are HARD team Key-Card domestically could overwrite him at any time. PM Studios has to FIGHT to keep the lights on, and Josh is a bigger liar than a (insert political joke here) so you can't trust him for D*** all.

Re: Sorry, Nintendo's Recent Pikmin Videos Aren't Hinting At Something More

I'd be perfectly fine with random shorts just popping up in Nintendo Today. Finally give them an excuse to make WarioWare cartoons.

I would commit several war crimes for series of shorts of Nopon doing Nopon things while Xeno fights just happen around them. Like a Ponspector digging up something shiny while the opening of 3 is going on

1) Thailand is still a monarchy?

2) Oh buggertrash. South East Asia not having the eShop has been my and so many other physical onlys number one way of getting English physical copies of games that we would otherwise have to play 3 Card Fairhurst to get. If Southeast Asia goes digital that's it. That's the last domino to fall to make physical sales negligable. Except in the Middle East and China, but then physical only exists for games that meet their cenorship guidelines

Re: Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance Switch Resolution Update Now Available

@RupeeClock I'm not sure on the DLC pamphlet situation as I've never imported a game that would have had one, but I imagine not one way or the other as the entire reason SEA gets so many physicals is because many if the nations don't have digital store fronts on their consoles still. Parappa's PS4 remaster even got a physical release in Asia because of this. With a brand new cover by Rodney himself.

As for why I go for SEA over Japanese, SEA copies are also always guaranteed to have English localization on them, even being in fully English packaging sometimes, and are typically cheaper over all depending on the current exchange rate. The USD is... about to be near worthless on the international stage, but right now it still has buying power over the Philippino Peso

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

Zeebor15

Capcom is a paradox of a company. They're willing to do these lavish Legacy Collections that are some of best physical builds on the market for their older titles, but they are second only to Microsoft in their customer apathy as they speed, screaming to digital only distribution for their modern games.

And again, FF7 4-6 director can only speak for his own game. Literally no other game Square-Enix has released on Super Switch comes close to the resource hogging size and loading times of 7 part 4

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Director Highlights The Speed Problem With Switch 2 Game Cards

Installing directly onto the drive isn't the issue. Its something other consoles have been dealing with since the PS4. It's the fact that, as he frames it, it's the ONLY option available for direct install, where the cartridge is a glorified eShop coupon that will stop working in 10-15 years (if we live that long) that grinds the gears. Installing wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't soddered to the Internet and that flimsy, shovelware filled eShop in particular.
