Re: Bubsy's Physical Switch Collection Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

Zeebor15

@EVIL-C You can also get LRG's "number" releases for the Recharged series, Akka Arrh, and Clear River's Gold Master Trilogy, on Atari.com those that's in very low stock: Alla Arrh is sold out and so are at least 2 Recharge sets.

@Fiergala I just hope this house of cards doesn't blow over because of a Thanksgiving gone horribly ary. Or as my family would call it "exactas expected."

@Zeta Still no idea why it was only ever released in PAL regions. Atari barely operated in the region at the time and the developer is in St. Louis.

Re: Bubsy's Physical Switch Collection Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

Zeebor15

@Fiergala By random chance I have become aquatinted with a self-proclaimed "large stakeholder" in Atari who lnows how to read and where to find the correct legally mandated public disclosure documents that otherwise get lost in the shuffle of political bureaucracy. My autism is nothing compared to his.

Wade Rosen, current CEO and owner of Atari. Founder of Ziggurat and still majority owner of that, though he know longer works day to day with them. Is the projenitor of Atari's 7th Age and its meteoric rise from the ashes. Massive nerd.
His brother works at Paramount and is similarly the reason we're getting a crapload of Nick games recently

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?

Zeebor15

Really it's the art direction that I take issue with. This is by far the UGLIEST game to ever have the Nintendo name attached to it, yes worse than Geist, but Geist had the excuse of nominally being a horror game. AND this is (allegedly) all EPD4 staff. How did the makers of Ring Fit Adventure come up with THIS dull grey mess. Even the Sportlings had more appeal than this and people (rightfully) HATED THEM

Re: Bubsy's Physical Switch Collection Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

Zeebor15

@LizardTaro Carbon Engine technically can't do PAL, at least not without some HEAVY specialized tweaking. It's why British Gex is a patch.

@JohnnyMind If you guys got the Mr. Run & Jump + Kominbera release, you'll eventually get this. Atari re-opened (on paper) Ocean Software last year. Organized in the UK, but hiring logistics coordinators and producers in Munich.

@Suketoudara Don't ask questions you aren't prepared to handle the answers too

@GrailUK Wade believes that Bubsy is the perfect encapsulation of "no such thing as bad plublicity" and believes that giving Bubsy his first, true 7/10 game will be the perfect encapsulation of Atari's Rise from the Ashes arc "If we can save Bubsy, we can save the world." (Apparently he REALLY wants to make it with NIS. Bubsy Disgae)

@Don @EVIL-C He means their storefront, and no it isn't. Atari PR has already confirmed it will be on at least their store and VGP... eventually

@flamepanther Carbon Engine doesn't have anything for old windows besides a mostly retrofitted (ie: copied wholesale) DOS-BOX setting. DE might have one, but they're busy with God knows how much other stuff.

Re: Bubsy's Physical Switch Collection Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

Zeebor15

@SillyG This is the entire Bubsy series as it was in the days of the original Accolade. The only things missing are the cartoon pilot (union reasons) and the two modern games: Woollies Strike Back, by LRG'S much sexier and more talented cousins at Black Forest Games, and Paws of Fury by Choice Provisions.

Fun Fact, Paws of Fury 's engine was re-used for one of those League of Legends single player Spin-off deals that Riot did for a time in between discrimination scandals, and the League version sold WORSE! Proving with hard numbers that League is so bad, even Bubsy is better.

Re: Bubsy's Physical Switch Collection Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

Zeebor15

Now since Wade is involved, the standard edition WILL be available for sale on at least the Atari website and VGP, both of which will have a faster ship and response time than actually ordering from the LRG site itself.

VGP may also get that soundtrack at some point (no idea why they made two different soundtracks though. New fleecing strategy from Josh).

However... I want that book. A full in text on the rise fall, and rise again of the biggest loser in the mascot wars: that is a book written for me and I REALLY hope it gets a Press Run release cause those are way easier to get than the games themselves from LRG, and I am NOT spending $300 for it too show up in 2027

Re: Opinion: We Really Don't Need A Donkey Kong Timeline

Zeebor15

I've been telling people that they need to get to the extended ending of Xenoblade X to understand how time works in Nintendo games, but the racial tensions between the Scrimblos and the McSwordGuys are simply too strong. If only I could get them to see that we are not the enemy: Pokemon is

Re: SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans Of The Tide Brings A Ghostly Adventure To Switch 2 This November

Zeebor15

Super Switch exclusive? Well it's not like Purple Lamp was ever able to optimize for Switch correctly. Well it's already been confirmed for Key-cards so I was going to get it on PS5 anyways.

Also, I just love that the THQ shows are always filled with the bloodiest and most gruesome games Eastern Europe can offer, but they open with the David Hasselhoff sea shanty musical number. THQNordic has no target demographic: they have a shotgun and a blindfold

Re: Mortal Kombat's Legacy Kollection Might Actually Get A Proper Physical Release On Switch 2

Zeebor15

@Medic_alert I actually think the new title is much more descriptive and honest. Certainly makes more sense than "Core Values of Playing BlazBlue in the Toilet"

@OrtadragoonX Low quality bait

@belmont Yes, but note that 2 of the 3 games didn't get physicals until AFTER all their updates and DLC, and Atari 50 got a re-print once it's first batch was done. The Namco stuff that's coming out this year is most likely something that came about after they were approached with after the fact as the deals for the 7800+ games were being signed.

Re: Mortal Kombat's Legacy Kollection Might Actually Get A Proper Physical Release On Switch 2

Zeebor15

Thanks, Wade.

It's kinda messed up the series owned by Warner Bros, the second most blatantly evil company in game publishing, and is wildly remembered and regarded as "mostly crap" by the public at largez and even the few people that actually like it, is getting a better, longer lasting, and more consumer friendly release than Street Fighter 6.

Actually, come to think of it, discounting the Fighting Collections that are mostly for Darkstalkers and the 3D games respectively, the last time Street Fighter had a proper physical release was also made by Digital Eclipse: The 30th Anniversary Collection. Sure, most of the FGC wrote that game off because the future Atari Dev Team 1 hadn't quite figured out Netcode yet, but those guys also think it's admissable that 75% of a game's roster is permanently locked behind non-recoverable/DRM locked DLC passes. So for the purposes of artistic integrity, they can get beat up in a subway by an old Chinese lady and a sad hobo.

Thanks, Wade

Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Needed A Partner Showcase With Pep; This Wasn't It

Zeebor15

It says something that the multiplayer focused Katamari was the highlight of this EA DRENCED showcase, and it doesn't even have a Super Switch skw. Just basic backwards boosts.

Oh, also, all that EA faf bumbed a new NIS IP and a new trailer for Dragon Quest 1+2 Re-Rock The Dragon that were only in the Japanese direct. So, you know, another reason to hate Western AAA

Re: Atari To Acquire 'SteamWorld' Dev Thunderful

Zeebor15

@Thomystic Because I was legitimatly confused how someone who comes to this website has missed the 5 year Renisance of Wade Rosen saving not only Atari, but showing that there IS some good in Western game publishing. What once "killed" game development in America will be the only one left to save it from itself.

Re: Atari To Acquire 'SteamWorld' Dev Thunderful

Zeebor15

@Serpenterror @Tyranexx @Giberaltor Now hold on: yes Microsoft are greedy idiots, but Embracer never bought a studio or company unless there was an immediate plan for how best to use them. There was always a plan; it's just not even the best plans can account for Randy: who has been named by multiple sources as the primary reason that one investment deal fell through and caused to get dragged through the mud. As I've been saying, Microsoft would have just immediately shut down entire branches in such a situation, but Embracer at least took the time to make sure as many people as possible who did go landed on their feet.

Re: Atari To Acquire 'SteamWorld' Dev Thunderful

Zeebor15

@TerribleTerabytes What rock have you been under for the past 5 years? Every other week now Atari's in the news for some great revival or better-than-it-has-right-to-be remaster. Gold Masters series, Yars Rising, Lunar Lander Beyond. Infogrames is bringing back Totally Reliable Delivery service, and Intellivision is free from the incompetence that is Tommy Tallerinco.

We're even getting brand new 7800 cartridges as the one good thing the Plaion side of Embracer is doing.

Re: Atari To Acquire 'SteamWorld' Dev Thunderful

Zeebor15

This is nothing but good news especially for me. I hate Thunderfull for how they squandered Rising Star - which is all but dead ever since Deadly Premonition 2; a game I will stress I thought was fantastic amd much better than either No More Heroes revival.

Now under Wade the Retro nerd all that nonsense about trying to make live service indie games will be tossed out the window for what the people TRULY need: Bubsy vs Meatboy.

Even better; I'll finally get a fully itemized list of what IP Thunderfull actually held onto in the divorce form Headup.
