Re: Guilty Gear Strive Adds Another DLC Character To The Roster Later This Month

Zeebor15

@Solid_Python The Switch port was more an experiment in "can it be done" than anything else, and a way of getting Guilty Gear and all it's many.... idiosincrasities it has in it's lore and single player modes as possible in preperation for Dual Rulers. One promotes the other, essentially. Casuals would be coming in from the anime and the Switch is the most casual friendly platform right now. Plus, it was a good excuse for them to press a whole bunch of new versions of the game with "most" of the DLC included, which as someone who doesn't care for anyone past Queen Dizzy, I greatly appreciated.

In summation: because you aren't suppossed to be e-sports tryhard on Switch. You'd break the joy-cons if you were.

@MirrorFate2 @Fighting_Game_Loser @Solid_Python We know the reason from that massive leak: it's simply because Tantalus is doing all 3 at the same.

We also know that the game is for all intents and purposes Xrd Rev 3; including all the models from the Xrd being fully code compatible. The same is true of pretty much EVERY Unreal ArcSys game; to the point DBFZ Goku is a load bearing file in all current builds of Strive. That Strive is pretty much the only fighting game Team Red working on right now and its unknown if Team Blue even still exists, but seemingly that they are working on a Super Switch exclusive set to release in November 2025. I won't say the project's name here for risk of not fully stepping on the site's toes, but it does appear to be some sort of murder mystery game.

Re: Gex Trilogy Lands June Release, Special Edition With Blow-Up Doll Revealed

Zeebor15

I have long been one of harshest critics of LRG's model; specifically their horrible production times and lack of transparency. They are the sum total of everything that could and has possibly gone wrong on the side of consumer rights in gaming: opposite of Microsoft. I swore to myself i would never pre-order ever again on anything because of them.

HOWEVER

FINAL GEX IS REAL! FINALLY THE JOKE IS COMPLETE AND GEX IS IN SQAURE-ENIX STYLE

Re: Full Game List Revealed For Atari's Upcoming Bubsy Collection

Zeebor15

They're still using the Gex parody as the key visual? That's just putting a hat on a h- don't think about it too hard Zeebor. It's Josh Fairhursts. The only people who live more in their own world than him are Melee players, and politicians.

Still, I respect the choice to put the oft-forgotten Bubsy 3 at the top of the list. It's never been ported to anything outside of the original Jaguar release, and is considered the best of the series until 6. Granted, that's with the double bell curve of being a Bubsy game that's passable to play, and being one of the precious few third-party Jaguar exclusives. A console with not very many good FIRST party games.

Re: Ecco The Dolphin Is Making A Comeback With Remasters & New Game

Zeebor15

What gets me is that he makes no mention of Sega themselves being involved. Now, Nintendo says Sega owns Ecco, but Sega themselves have said they don't actually know what they own. They lost ToeJam and Wild Woody to their original creators (and what Woody's dad ensed up doing with him was ... well I respect the lack of #&$@ given I'll say that), and Ecco's always been kind of... segregates from the other Sega characters. He was never in an All-Stars game, and Ian Flynn said in interviews that when he wrote Sega vs. Capcom for Archie, Ecco was one of franchises he was explicitly forbidden from using (along with Sakura Wars and Puyo Puyo as I recall).

So, you know, Wonder Boy

Re: Limited Run's Atlus Switch 2 Collector's Edition Is A 'Game-Key Card' Release

Zeebor15

Because why expect quality, when you can expect Limited Run? Though, to be fair, they do have a point in just being thrle hired gun for this. I guess how these deals work out were the big box is on a 6 to 25 month delay, but the game is still available for normal people to buy at normal retail stores like God intended, the games are just provided by the actual publisher, whi get the equivalent of selling the game to wholeseller plus licenseijg fees, in exchange for LRG getting to make their requisite mark ups to actually turn a profit for Freemode despite the legalized embezzlement that is LRG' corporate pay structure. Hence the ludicrous price tags.

Though of course this excuse opens up the paradox of WHY THE HELL IS THERE A MULTI MONTH DELAY ON THE "NON-NUMBERED" STANDARD EDITIONS?!

If those games are all printed with the Pegi copies by GOE, why does it still take A RANDOMLY DETERMINED TWO TO TEN MONTHS for Clear River, Headup, and SNK games to make it to normal stores for normal people JOSH?!

Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan

Zeebor15

Somewhere it was stared that the reason for this is that the Super Switch ONLY has 64gb cartridges and that's either over kill if a game is well optimistized or not bug enough it's made by a division of Microsoft or Take-Two, but I refuse to believe that because we KNOW LRG is going to be making Super Switch games, and for once their cheapness may be the one saving grace we have. There is no way their margins will allow for that much wasted overhead on 4gb indie games. They're already some of the weekest ROI in all of Embracer, kept around almost exclusively for the Carbon engine, and Fairhurst's inhumanly good networking skills.
