Re: Aardman Animation's Pokémon Collaboration Teased

Zeebor15

High point of the direct today, though it is a bit... interesting that Pokemon now has 2 stop motion series: one in the Rankin-Bass felt style, and now this one in Claymation.

Also fun fact: the creator of Uncle Grandpa and the first fully animated Looney Toons feature film, Pete Browngart, is somehow involved in this.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting Its Very Own Switch 2 Bundle

Zeebor15

Still don't like that only the middle east and SEA get actual physicals, but at least this is a game I have some respect for.

Yes, I am that much of a Mario Kart hater, even the Bethesda level embarassment that is modern Game Freak design gets more respect from me than Mid Racing 10.

Re: Review: Shadow Labyrinth - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Sometimes 'Good Enough' Is Just That

Zeebor15

There are many aspects of this game that Namco has strangely not decided to put at the forefront of the marketing that I don't understand why they didn't. Namely that the staff includes designers from Samurai Showdown, Xenoasaga (they didn't ALL go to Monolithsoft), and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror specifically.

Also, this is the first Pac-Man game to be cannon to the "main" Namco continuity that all their sci-fi games (mostly Ace Combat) take place in

Re: Nintendo Announces 'Global Jam' Demo Event For Switch 2 Online Members

They're actually putting some level of marketing... into eShop only game?! eShop games aren't supposed to get attention! They're supposed to come out and die because they never go on sale past their $20-30 price and therefore get buried underneath all the AI slop, actually well priced indie games (though I will never do so for religious reasons, the Monkey Island quote holds true for those with more flexible morals), and AAA games that people know about from elsewhere.

Thats how Bonsai Barber died. That's how Sakura Samurai died. Its how Steel Diver 3, Good Job, and the Stretchers died; and they all had actual ART DIRECTION!

The only exception is Snipperclips, but that was helpped along by the same launch line-up magic juju that gave Bomberman his best numbers ever. So much so that it actually got to be a real video game.

Re: Mega Man Is One Of Capcom's "Most Important IPs" Despite No New Games In 7+ Years

Zeebor15

I'd rather comment on the rest of that Q&A.

Here I thought the investors at Nintendo were odd-ducks. I don't know why that one dude called out the music in Warriors of Fate specifically, but he and the guy asking for the Touch my Palm sequel are men who know what they're about, and I respect that.

I also feel validated that even the investors are worried about a KPMG person being on the board because this is how I find out about that and HOLYCRAP THAT IS TERRIFYING! And explains alot about how Capcom has seemingly fallen back into Inafune habits and become one of the least consumer friendly (re: following American trends) of the Daimo. Only stopped from being the absolute worst because Konami

Re: Review: Missile Command Delta (Switch) - Good Foundations Lost In The Narrative Rubble

Zeebor15

Yeah, that all sounds about right. Most gameplay previews and impressions from the other Atari Boomers I converse with said about the same "The card game works surprisingly well, and Atari's music gets better and better, but good LORD were those FPS segments unnecessary. Feels like they were put in just so the game wouldn't be written off as 'yet another indie (Nothing involving Atari is indie) card game"

Re: Perfect Dark Voice Actor Calls On Fans To Help Series "Survive"

I just hope Embracer Phil didn't have too many chips riding on any percentage payouts from that game. I don't want to lose Black Forest completely just because Nadia wants a new boat.

Looking back it now, Volition might have been the lucky ones. Reformed as Shapeshifter Games, they're Microsoft grunt work contract for Clockwork Revolution is still fully intact.

Re: Furukawa's Defence Of Game-Key Cards Ain't All That Convincing

Zeebor15

@Elitepatriot I was saying that's the full version of how I PC game. If something if of no physical substance, than it is of no monetary value to me.

I recognize this is an example of both religous and philisophical extremism, but I play Xenoblade. I don't do anything half-way when it comes to my morals. And my morals tell me there's no substantive difference between booting a game through Steam or through the Pirate Bay.

Any PC games I have bought have been through GoG; and that was Gex

Re: Furukawa's Defence Of Game-Key Cards Ain't All That Convincing

Zeebor15

This just shows that Furakawa and the engineers only listened to the AAA teams, and not the mid-range boys that most of Japan is, meaning they listened mostly, if not exclusively, to the Americans. As an American, that is the worst possible way to do anything. The only thing we're good at is lying on camera.

Re: Shadow Labyrinth Is 4K/60 On Switch 2, Free Upgrade Available From Switch 1

Zeebor15

@SillyG I'm the one who hates Game-Key cards and digital releases the most, but even I think that's an over reaction. This is a full 2D game from the designers of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. Even with the framerate-tism that seems to only impact PC onlies typically, I fail to see any visual bumb is going to be anything other than negligible at best.

Re: Street Fighter 6 Reveals Special Collab Outfit Available For "One Year Only"

Zeebor15

@Polvasti People keep sighting that Wii provision the EU made them keep open, but they never mention just how restrictive that actually is. The re-download is only triggerable for THE CONSOLE, and outside of the Wii to U migration there's no way to get the actual games to move machines. You can't back up, let alone merge libraries. They are just THAT machine: and as we've all be well aware since the 2600 - consoles go way faster than the games themselves
